The fact is - she should have stayed quiet. She didn't say anything epochal or grandiose! Thus, Sally, SHUT UP! (Addendum: besides, what she said is incorect: mothers - no war?! Yeah, many mothers throught history pitted their sons against someone else's sons... So...)

I was reading an interview with sally field in a mag, I now know why she is so loud and has a big mouth, she had a verbally abusive stepdad. She stood up to him one day by standing on a chair and yelling at him and thats how she handled him after that by speaking as big and loud as he was doing her. That totally explains alot. An she's also been in therapy since she was 17. An its easy for her to play characters with mental disorders aka ER/sybil, but she debates whether she should go there or not. I found the article to be really interesting and very revealing.

I find Sallys ometimes annoying though I adore her in the role...

Jack I agree in some ways that it's the best relationship drama since my beloved Once and Again though I wouldn't quite put them together--I love both shows but B&S is a bit more soapy (not an insult in my books) with plot twists like illegitimate children, business rivalries, and of course just how rich nearly every major character is. O&A was more relatable for me because it felt much more liek a real house or family I knew as a teenager (ditto the other Herskovitz/Zwick shows)--it also relied less on "what's gonna happen next!" and cliffhangars and was a bit more of a mix of a soap and a self contained episode series...

ANyway not meaning to disagree just really writing down the thoughts in my head. Can't wait for Sunday's ep :D

Oh i agree. I wasnt trying to really compare the two as much as point out that it is the best relationship drama since O&A.

I also agree about the diffrances you pointed out. However i do think that when you take away the soap plot turns the family on B&S is a extreamly relatable family.

O&A = best show ever. and i will stick by that forever.

GOD I love this show!

The entire restaurant scene was amazing.

When they all started dancing to the music and celebrating (after finally being happy) - and the call comes....my heart sunk and I started tearing up!

Perfect beginning and ending - loved the videos and the reflections of the characters.

This show is by far the best thing on TV.

It was a great show. They are so dysfunctional but in such a loving way.

I am really upset that Kevin finds love and BAM the man leaves. I know the actor has another show but really can I hope that show falls so he can come back.

Great show cant wait until next week.

If Justin dies, I seriously think I'm going to cry.

But anyways great start to the season. Sally Fields is such an amazing actress. B&S is truly one of the best shows on tv these days.

I loved yesterdays episode. Their family outings are always a disasters. IMO B&S had the best premeire out of all of the abc shows this week, which is kinda shocking. I totally thought Uncle sal was about to tell Kevin he was gay when they were at the bar. I don't know about holly and nora being friends, I think its too soon and why the heck did she invite her to Kitty's party????

Viva is known to be probably the most likely show to get early cancelation so maybe Winter will be back--while I find him hot, and liek the role I have to admit a part of me finds him a bit too perfect for Kevin if that makes sense.

I liked today's show a lot though had a few nitpicky things--the Mom's video message as Summer recap thing felt a BIT forced to me for some reason as did the ending the show with the sister's... I dunno why. And I found the sudden "we all love this osng let's dance' a bit too cheasy-- BUT. I'm glad to have my fave show back :) (nice to see the Walkers seem to be drinking even more than usual too :P )

I think cuz Nora felt guilty for Hollya nd her daughter not talking and this was a way she saw of bridging them... I kinda agree that I'd liek to keep Holly a tad more antagonistical for a while longer
