I'm happy with 24, Keifer Sutherland, Mariska, Jeremy Piven and the Office winning..

Would have liked Jean Smart or the one of the ladies from GA's winning supporting actress in a drama...Blythe Danner? WTF?

and i would have liked Steve Carrel and Jamie Pressley to win...but oh well..

HAHA!! FOUR-PEAT for TAR! I had no doubt. Take that American Idol... I can't believe people would actually think Idol would win, just becuase its the most watched show on television doesn't mean it deserves an Emmy. Even TAR8 is better than any Idol episode.

And I think the voters see the fact that it takes 100x more work to make TAR happen than just making a theatre look pretty for people to warble and pretend to sing. Survivor is going to win the Emmy long before Idol ever will. But when watching the 5 nominees back to back, TAR's production is massive and even at its worst can show up Idol or Survivor. TAR is completely deserving, and I am ecstatic they won.

Also very happy about The Office, but sad that Steve Carell didn't win.

The Aaron Spelling-tribute was really great. Loved Heather Locklear and Joan Collins and was thrilled/shocked to see Charlie’s original angels - together, on the same stage, practically holding hands. MIRACLE!

As much as I love Kate Jackson - I practically grew up with “Scarecrow and Mrs. King”, one of my all-time favorites - but what happened to her face!? I know she battled cancer but this looked more like plastic surgery gone wrong. Eww! Anyway, great to see her again on TV!

Funniest moment pf the whole Emmys: The 7th Heaven-logo and cast to the musical them of Melrose Place. LOL!

Uh-oh...I was watching Fox News this morning, and they reported that many people are upset over Conan's skit last night....the one where he was in a plane crash. They thought it showed no class, coming right after the real Comair plane crash that killed 49 people.

The after show on E! proved to be quite interesting too. Drunk Paula Abdul was back for all of us that missed her over the last few months. She was totally incoherent. It appeared that she had to grab a hedge to steady herself. There was some snapping, weird hand movements, and lots and lots of slurring. The E! correspondents basically had to cut her off. LOL!

i'm really happy for julia, mariska, the office, and keifer they definately deserved it. But i have one promblem, among others, with the eMmy's and it;'s that no one seems to clap during the in memoriam parts when someone from soaps show up. i just think it's so rude. i mean it doesn't take that much out of you to clap for god sakes.

also does anyone know who won the guest categories????

Good show, even though I don't watch the majority of those shows

I'm a reality tv junkie, glad TAR won but I would have voted for Survivor this year.

Great send off for Megan Mullaly.

Jacklyn Smith still looks hot!!!! How old is she anyway

Glad my Barry Mannilow won !!!

Great to see Gloria Monty in the tribute

    • Thanks for the tip. I'm not even there viewing-wise yet and as I told my co-worker who grew up on DAYS today, I'm just not ready. So I know I'll be a mess when I get to the episode.    Love all of this.

    • Yeah I just took it as the life Marlena truly wanted and needed started with John that day.  She lived a life before with loves and happiness, but found her soul mate in John.  Besides, I don't expect Marlena to get into semantics of her previous loves with her husband that clearly has little time left. And, yes, @j swift in Salem you just say Happy Anniversary whenever you multi time married friends decide what day they want to celebrate it lol.
    • May 21, 1990 was CBS Monday comedy finale night. Major Dad season 1 finale, Newhart series finale, Murphy Brown season 2 finale, Designing Women season 4 finale. The comedies that were in the 1989/90 Top 10 had their season finales earlier. April 23-29, 1990: Empty Nest April 30-May 6, 1990: The Cosby Show, A Different World, Cheers, The Golden Girls May 7-13, 1990: Roseanne May 14-20, 1990: The Wonder Years
    • I understood it very differently as well. I wouldn't have piled on, but @janea4old and I were clearly composing our posts at the same time (great minds think alike, and fools seldom differ). To me, she was saying that their love was an awakening.  Obviously, she loved Roman and their twins, as well as Don.  But, John revealed something to her that she had never seen before.  I actually think it is a lovely, and very optimistic, idea to think that one's third marriage could be special because you met each other at a specific time in your life. Not to be crude about the departed, but John was trained by the best, and he rocked her world.  Think about it, before Kristin met him, she was just a mild-mannered social worker.  And< I doubt Roman and Kate are doing whatever Doc and John did with those strawberries and cream.  If we translate soap dialogue into reality, that is probably what Marlena meant. Of course, John was only her third husband if you don't count Eugene and

(aka the husband nobody mourned).  If you choose that definition, John was also her 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th husband.  However, I believe it was @carolineg who reminded us that in polite society, friends just say Happy Anniversary, and don't mention the years in between.

    • disagree on all counts To me it's obvious that what Marlena meant was that she was already a complete person within herself before meeting John; but after meeting John her life blossomed to a new level she hadn't known before. I don't think she was bound to John as back and forth caretakers. I think she and John were true equals. Roman loved Marlena in his own way but he was somewhat patronizing at times.
    • I agree that she looks good.  I wasn't slamming her, her age or her looks in my last post.  I was just commenting on the fact that her wardrobe and hair gave me Susan Sullivan/"Dharma & Greg" vibes, lol.
