Do you think that the opening of ATWT needs an update?

Hell yeah!!! It's been edited together so many times it's laughable. And I'm so sick of seeing the Katie opening. They throw the Emily one out about once a week, but there used to be four versions.

The only two they seem to show anymore are the Katie and Emily versions, with the Katie version on most of the time. They phased out the Lily version because of Jen and they stopped the Carly version because of Keith. Jade, Luke, and Simon need to be added, but Simon's time on the show is running thin anyway.

Personally, I want an all new opening.

They should bring back the globe spinning. This is As The WORLD TURNS after all. The globe is their logo. What possessed them to get rid of it anyway? And then they wouldn't have to worry about updating it anyway since the actors wouldn't be included.

The current opening is soooo bad. I never liked it, but it looks so cheap now w/ the crappy editing. It used to make sense. Like, for example, they'd have Kim before Bob, and then Margo before Tom, and then Lucinda before Holden and Lily. But now...it's like all messed up. Also, I hate that they show the same actors all the time. As if the bumpers weren't enough. Isn't it awful that the only time we see some actors is on the opening!? And they've failed at that now too.

If they were able to edit in Casey to fill Hal's spot (in the Emily opening) why can't they start showing the other ones? I mean, they've done this many times before. They got rid of plenty of characters and had to replace them, so what's taking them so long?

And while they're at it, PLEASE give us a newly updated picture of Katie. This one is like 6 years old!

I just think it is sad that Van Hansis(Luke) has been on the show for 9 months now and they still have not put him in the opening.

I think glamour shots without the actors names kind of cheapens the show anyway and makes no sense whatsoever. But the mix between filmed/taped shots is so jarring. And that theme song just makes me want to sleep.

Give me "Jelinda's Theme" and The Bible Network Opening anyday. And sorry ATWT fans, "Jelinda's Theme" was the best theme song. If PGP could acquire the rights to the David Foster version, that would kick ass. He did a really good piano/saxophone version for an import CD.

I've seen one from (I think) the 90s which was very powerful. It was each of the letters of the title with different shots of the world, like one was a sring. Then it formed the classic globe. I'd like something like that, or they could do it from space and have the cast pics thrown in there somewhere.

I'd also like actors names! Right now it looks so strange with the pictures ala B&B/Y&R, but not even a characters name!

Oh, the "Seasons" opening!!! That was probably my favorite. I liked the concept behind the "Tiled Globe 2000" version, but they abandoned that quickly..

I'd rather there not be character names at all! ABC went through that phase and THANK GOD they abandonded it. It just makes the shows look so cheap and tacky and doesn't give the shows's performers the level of respect they deserve. Eric Braeden may be il divo, but he had a point.

I wish B&B would completely remove character names from their credits and just leave the actors names there. If I watch the show long enough, chances are I'll realize that Susan Flannery plays Stephanie Forrester!

Amen, amen, and amen! The globe spinning had been their opening for what, 35 or 40 years? I say they should have stuck with that. But you're definitely right about the character's pictures being all out of order now - that stinks.

If they must use the characters, why don't they do family pictures? They could show the Hughes clan, the Snyders, the Stewarts, etc - that way, most all of the characters would be shown.
