  1. I got this in email the other day "Why does a narcissist return?" with 6 bullet points, the first one reading: 1. A narcissistic person will return to you because they want something from you. Narcissists lack the empathy to care about you, so they're not coming back to make things work with you, they're coming back to extract what they need from you. I read through them quickly, mentally, going, check, check, check, I was comparing Sonny Corinthos! 💯 https://www.quora.com/Why-does-a-narcissist-return/answer/Teresa-Santana-26
  2. This is the picture I chose to put up on my IG acct. It just seemed ... to fit. I hope they're having a wonderful reunion! I just read Finola's IG about Shannen. Made me cry. CHARMED, of course. Day before yesterday SSH made me cry. Did you make it through her zoom interview with Michael Fairman?!! Yesterday my sweet Westie Ruby gave me lovely dog kisses & that made me cry. But they were good tears.
  3. I started to reply to this the other day. Perhaps I can add a slight contribution. I know of many instances where edits or compilations which have been posted on YouTube are now in vaults, on google drives, or on Mega drives or even on The Internet Archive. The reason they are posted on those non-YouTube sites is because these things get taken down by YouTube so often. Frankly, it's just good common sense to have either the original file or a copy squirreled away somewhere like this.
  4. So to your warped way of looking at things for a breast cancer survivor to speak about one who has just lost the battle and others still fighting and still others considered to be survivors is somehow inappropriate posting?!! I think this is your problem, not anyone else's.
  5. I am a breast cancer survivor. I was so upset I misspelled her name, dammit. I have fixed that now. Another breast cancer survivor just pointed out that when this awful disease metastasizes, it is then treatable but it is not curable. Inevitable conclusion. Devastating. I have 2 friends, one very old & very close, who both have this kind of cancer in their lungs, an organ it seems to like to attack. In both cases the chemo is such that the cure nearly kills you. I was a big fan of OUR HOUSE. Then again a big fan of CHARMED. I have been following her story. I have great admiration for her courage. And, finally, FUQUE CANCER!!!
  6. This is one of my favorite Classic Days edits. https://rumble.com/v56x1yc-days-of-our-lives-og-brady-brothers-1991-with-a-flashback-to-1984.html However, I have a question, well, two really. Does anyone know when in 1991 & when in 1984? Any consideration would be welcome!
  7. https://people.com/tv/shannen-doherty-dead I know we all knew this was inevitably coming but, I am still so sad for her tragic life to have been snuffed out so much too young.
  8. I've recently watched a lot of older DAYS, some very old, some 2017, other & it's just awful. I can see when the production values were top-notch. The music cues are good, not dorky. There's nothing wrong with the lighting. Sets, great sets! This is terrible. This used to be an excellent soap. NBC ruined this show by making them go cheaper & cheaper & even cheaper.
  9. Michael Kape just posted that Richard Simmons was starting a new play on Broadway in 1 week!!
  10. Soaps have been hard hit ever since the Pandemic began but GH has had it worse than any other!!!
  11. Barbara Rodell (Lee, AW, several other soaps incl. ATWT) stopped by, joined my forum, and she has a new book out. Some about her time in soaps but seems to be more about her "inspirational personal journey".
  12. Good to know. I will make sure Mike knows this.
  13. This is something that might be of interest. From a Private FB group. About Montgomery, AL being a ratings outlier with regard to DAYS.
  14. Assuming facts not in evidence. Reasons why an actor might be leaving: got another gig, is going back to school, asked for a raise, Frank or Varni decided, a writer decided, ....
  15. WGA Writing Award, prior year, one of the submitted episodes was Bill Hayes as Doug, in Marlena's office, being evaluated for dementia when the Devil reveals itself to be in Doug but to want to move from Doug to Doc. Here's what I wrote about it on July 12, 2022, which showed up in my FB Memories for today: I learned something about one of the DOOL Writing Reels from an interview Michael Fairman did with Ron about Beyond Salem. One of the writers on that winning team was Betsy Snyder, RIP. After hearing about her & this I went & wrote up her whole career & posted it so you should be able to find it & read it if you're interested. She was one fantastic lady, clearly, and a fine fine writer. Worked on tons of shows over the years. Was 60, died last Nov. 2021, of cancer. She did the breakdown writing for one whole episode that was submitted by DOOL for Writing. She wrote the outline of the episode. It was when the Devil 2.0 was just getting started. (I hated that story but a good script is a good script.) Doug was in Marlena's office being evaluated in case he was getting Alzheimer's because of strange things he'd been saying & doing. In reality the devil was in Doug & wanted to use Doug as a vehicle to JUMP over into Marlena. The show was amazing. Bill Hayes at his advanced age was wonderful! The devil tricked Marlena into taking him into her by playing on how much she cared about this dear friend & patient. So, I have spent all this time fretting that DOOL won Writing Awards, the only awards for soap writing that there are, and now I can replay that show in my head & know that in fact it was excellence in writing.
  16. My first VCR was a Sanyo BETA. I, too, taped over & over but I taped the entire NBC soap lineup at that time, so used the lowest quality taping to get 3½ hours per day.
  17. Canadian fans were always so furious that nobody cared about them! They wanted the Nielsens to count them in some sorta adjunct way. ????
  18. I've known loads of NBC fans. Rabid DAYS fans, unbelievably loyal AW fans & those people tended to watch the whole lineup, so definitely GENERATIONS & also SANTA BARBARA. That fell off sharply as of & after DAYS demonic possession 1.0. Whole lot of people gave up DAYS & half went to GH & half went to AMC. AW fans remained steadfast. Where did I live? In the South except for 8 years in Brooklyn. But, I knew so many soap fans online & they were everywhere, of course. So, there wasn't as much NBCific soap fan chatter for SUNSET BEACH & definitely not for PASSIONS. SEARCH also didn't pick up many folks.
  19. Yep. I think they explored the issues & different people expressed slightly varying points of view & now they've concluded to go with Heather's impulse - and wishes - and that happens to be not taking a risk of danger to the common good.
  20. I get it. You think they're making fun of her & all I see is pathos, which leads to pathetic, feel sorry for, pity!!! Certainly no rootability!! Some posters on twiX are saying that Marlena had her hair swept up in a 'do on the back of her head before the Pit & one other kidnapping. Anyway, I HATE the way they're writing Doc!!!
  21. Well, Ron's entire philosophy of writing this show is #1 Don't take anything seriously, but #2, how is Connie comedic? To me she's more like a female Sad Sack. Well, someone needs to do something, but that is also not news.
  22. Okay, I see that as just listing two different types of criminals, not particularly extreme. Like Original Recipe & Extra Crispy! 😉 And, I don't think that's where we're going. I've thought that this whole time but now the show seems to be indicating it.
  23. Well, you pull out the two extremes, but, yes, agree. Too many prisons were populated by non-violent victims of the "war on drugs"!
