I was thinking about it & I don't think friendship would enter in over recasting Sami. If I were to wager an educated guess, it would be that they think the role isn't recastable. But, I think it is.

Yep. I feel the lack of Sami intensely! There's just no excuse for not doing a Sami recast at this point.

I was okay with EJ & Nicole until he began lying to her. Then I was done with them. What you describe as a conversation between Eric & Nicole at this point in time would be excellent & also very soapy.

I think that the fact that they took him off contract on March 8th & did take an individual picture of him but did not include him in any of the 5 group shots, points to the fact that they had a long plan in mind for an exit for him. I think they did a fair job of hints & telescoping their plans. and, as I have said, I think they did an excellent job on the actual exit. I can certainly imagine during the time when ME was essentially on recurring after so many years on contract, that Frank might've tried to get some leverage, some sway, in order to have his fave back after rehab. I don't think that's going to happen, but if it does, it will really tell us something!!!

To be fair, each of them intended to be with their just past partners for a long time, if not ever. And, neither of them did what was done to cause the break-up. No, that was entirely on Sloan & on EJ. If we're going to blame them for something, let's let it be something that actually was their fault!

There's no expectation of ALL fans loving the same thing, ever, anyone. That's just a natural part of fandom.

What is this meant to signify? If I guess, I'd guess that you do not think they are a popular couple. It seems to me that they are. Just two items that suggest to me that they made a decision to cut Easton loose & they implemented it which they did quite well. So often it is ironic that a character will get their best writing in their exit story!
