All I really, truly want to know at this point in time on DAYS is why are we having so many flashbacks that we're starting to have them the way we did when Reilly was having a bad month. If you recall, that was as bad as it got for him at DAYS.

Today is Marcus Taggert MIA Day #260, that is counting only M-F of course, on a real calendar & that adds up to more than a year. Taggert is only cared about by a handful of fans, no one else. As I understand it, Real is fine, so it's not some worrying health condition. Thankfully.

WOMAN WITH A PAST A 15 minute daytime serial, on CBS, M-F from 4-4:15, followed by THE SECRET STORM, from 2-1-1954 to 7-2-1954, so for 5 months, was the star vehicle for Constance Ford. She played the lead, Lynn Sherwood, a New York dress designer who had all these different adventures. Constance Ford has long been regarded as one of the finest American actresses. After a critically acclaimed career in the theatre, she was seen onscreen as Sandra Dee's memorably mean mama in A SUMMER PLACE, in Warren Beatty's film ALL FALL DOWN & in the Joan Crawford hospital drama THE CARETAKERS. She's best remembered, however, for her dazzling intense performances in primetime. WOW! What a SWEEPS day!!! Jason is so honorable, as a person, checking the clock, as Gates is pounding on the door. There is a rumor. You know I do not usually comment on them. However, I am wondering about this one. And, it is that Vanna goes on the run & Jarly chases after them. Would today's GH do this? I do not know. I believe that PM was in on things like deciding that they would put lots of eggs in July Sweeps & that Pikeman would be the biggest egg of all. But, then, this daily execution of things, I cannot see it. Willow blew my mind again today. WTH is she doing going to Sonny & saying "I have a confession to make," and scaring the daylights out of all of us. Did you catch that Cates considered the champagne a device for grooming someone & that someone gets to be Carly. WTH?!!! Who in their right mind would think that Carly would be swayed by some bottle of champagne?! How has Cates spent so much time with her & knows her so little?!

I don't recall the show ever doing anything that would have been what today we'd call an injoke or anything referential to other projects. I don't think other shows did either. Connie had careers in stages. One of the print images, still photo, was one of the most famous advertisements of that period of time. Then she did movies. Then she did prestige primetime shows. Then other primetime shows. Then Another World. I think she valued everything, a part of her work ethic. I would not be at all surprised if AW was her favorite.

The last thing I can recall is Jax almost finding out that Sonny was alive in Nixon Falls thinking he was Mike & that was because of some connection Jax had with Nina. Speaking of Nina, what an absolutely fine punch that was yesterday!!! The whole time Willow was confessing, to Nina of all people even with her saying she had no one to tell BUT her, I was amazed. Why doesn't Willow have any friends?! And since Nina has none either, what a pair they made. But, as of now, Ava has no friends either. What is it with these dames in Port Charles? Why don't they have any girlfriends? Obviously Natalia has no friends, probably never did.

No, I suspect my idea would be the unpopular one. For the reasons you have stated. Also Jax, the character, unattached to the actor's chicanery, is a probably historically very valuable character. And, people respect the history.

You know, recently I suggested that they kill Jax offscreen so Joss would be free of him & have her fortune, that is, unless it has an age requirement on it, like she has to be 25, as sometimes that is done. Goes to show just how useful I currently find Jax, huh?

I don't see them abandoning Jason & his kiddos. I mean, why would they? The set-up with Danny is excellent. Jake is at a very good point but we may be losing him which might be temp, who knows. Sam, of course, may continue to add conflict about Danny. Good soap, right? Oh, yeah, of course, it bears repeating that chemistry is 100% a subjective thing. Some see it, others don't. Writing & characterization & tradecraft have to be used & are.

Isn't it funny, Natalia is so deservedly hated because as Krissy said, she is choosing to be a bigot, dragging her feet all this time & NOT making any progress, at all, on adjusting to the new normal Ali has presented her with!! However, it made for such good soap! I agree about Kristina v. Natalia, also about Kirsten Storms & I am loving her line readings & how she dogs Lucy, which no one else would be allowed to do. Also agree about Jacqueline Grace Lopez who I believe has grown considerably in this role & is now able to hold her own. She's a different actress than she was a year ago. Me, too. The instant Scott said "have a breakdown in public" I knew she'd try to think HOW Could She Just Tip Him Over & since Ava lives in a fictional universe & thought maybe she'd find a way. Correct! Hilarious how Clement the Rx is so afraid of her. Ordinarily I'd think the pharmacist just wouldn't do it, or even worse, return Sonny to full dosage, but I think he is too intimidated by "NotMrs. Corinthos" to do such a thing, to do anything but placebo him. AFAIK we have zero idea if any of them want to be HWs and/or if they'd be any good at it. I agree that at this point Frank needs to go. But, it seems to me that this would be one of those times when promoting from within is not the right way to go. If it were up to me, I would hire Wendy Riche back, trim the cast, bring Patrick Mulcahey back & let him & Korte actually do the things they wanted to do, the things they began that we liked & whatever the things were that we never got an inkling of. I think that PM/EK was actually a good team, with a good eye on how to get from where we are to a Port Charles with heart, with stakes & where character is King.

not gonna put Carly back with either Drew or with Sonny. I think that Jarly stands a very good chance. A big deal moment: Spinelli said to Carly, and us the audience, as we were listening & watching, that Jason loves Carly the same way that he, Spinelli, loves Maxie. So, was that the show telling us they are going to do Jarly again? Some of us think so. Possible more dialog: Jason said to Carly "When all of this is over, I'm getting my life back. And, it is the only life I want." I could go on & on, but I won't. I'll just say one more word: HUGS.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. In April 1999 when Susan D. Lee dealt with the NBC soaps, despite the fact that AW had the better ratings, she canceled AW & made a deal with Spelling. Sunset Beach got a 6 month extension, till the end of the year & not a day longer. They knew on April 12, 1999 that they were off the air as of Dec. 31, 1999, so months & months ahead of time.

Now, both Danny & Jake have gotten hugs with Jason! And, I personally think those fans are correct about that. Of course, I think the more important "hate on" comes from Frank. You mean Jake. I approved of the scene between Jason, Liz & Jake. I do wonder, though, if the young actor got another gig or is going back to school more or ... whatever. Now, we not only missed seeing Kristina & Ali go ice skating but also didn't get to see Jason take Jake to a ball game. I much prefer SHOW to TELL! Did people really think they were going to pair Tracy with Cody?!!!
