  1. I honestly don't know how anyone becomes so hateful.
  2. Also the narrative of Pence as innocent in all this has been destroyed. He's as complicit and compromised as everyone else. Even if he survives this - which is becoming a bigger "if" by the day - he's going to be kneecapped. If the IC and FBI are as hungry for blood as they seem to be, we might very well end up with President Hatch.
  3. I believe he will leave office early I'm just not sure if it's going to be impeachment, arrest, resignation and fleeing the country, or a body bag. My personal preference would be arrest on RICO charges. That would mean asset forfeiture which oddly enough the FBI tweeted about right around the time the raid started.
  4. Here we go...
  5. Since we're talking about voter suppression, please note that the Census Bureau director resigned because they are trying to underfund the census. The next census will be used for redrawing districts. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/05/10/527726718/census-bureau-director-resigns-as-agency-faces-funding-debate
  6. Apparently Bernie's revolution didn't take in Omaha. Heath Mello lost the race for mayor of Omaha. As one of those dreaded pragmatists, I'm sad because any Dem is better than a Republican but the neo-liberal, corporate shill in me is happy to see the myth of Sanders as kingmaker take a hit. But don't cry for Bernie, he's taking his book tour to the UK.
  7. They had no business inviting that vapid trick to speak at an HBCU. I'm proud of the students for protesting in a way that didn't give her the chance to play a free speech victim.
  8. Russia is mocking us from our own White House.
  9. I suspect that if Rudy takes the job the people under him will never stop sabotaging him.
  10. It ain't over yet.
  11. Let me clarify: I mean the ones in Congress.
  12. There's no such thing as a moderate Republican anymore. They got drummed out of the party years ago.
  13. My beloved senator, Sherrod Brown did an op-ed in USA today on what real populism is. "A true populist looks out for people like her, because populism values work and it respects the people who do it — every last one of them. Our society doesn’t value work the way we once did; Americans work harder and have less to show for it. If you want to call yourself a populist, you better be ready to stick up for the little guy — whether she punches a time clock or earns tips. Whether she works in a call center or a hospital or on a factory floor. Whether he is a contract worker or a temp. And you better be willing to be straight with the people you serve. A true populist tells the truth, because she respects people’s intelligence." https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2017/05/08/true-populism-unites-not-divides-sherrod-brown-column/101407506/ Sigh. I love him.
  14. That's an intelligent and nuanced approach. That's not what Feinstein is doing. She's putting out a simple talking point and IMO it's a good one. #13WhiteMen
  15. France was smarter than we were.
  16. Bill Maher works my nerves and I thought I was done with him after Milo but he's dropping serious truth here.
  17. Yep. This is a perfect example of how purity contests take out allies. The same people that want Colbert fired for talking about Trump will then use this weaponized FFC to go after LGBT representation on TV. Pence will send them after every same sex kiss on television.
  18. Most of that history was before the gerrymander of 2010. It's going to be a lot harder now. It CAN be done but it's going to be one hell of an uphill climb.
  19. This is why gerrymandering has to die. The House passed this garbage because most of them are in safe districts. Fixing gerrymandering is the only way they will ever be held accountable but even then I believe that a lot of reps are going to lose their jobs in 2018. Issa's a dead man walking, Nunes will probably be in jail and if not he's shown himself to be to incompetent even for the GOP, Chaffetz is gone by "choice," etc...There's a reason McConnell has stated they won't get rid of the legislative filibuster.
  20. The GOP isn't running a government. They are producing a reality show.
  21. He says he doesn't plan to but he said the same thing about 2016. Of course if he said he was planning to run in 2020, Kasich would basically be saying either that he wants to make Donnie a one term president. I think Kasich is just in wait-and-see mode because anything can happen over the next three years.
  22. Yep. Now is a good time for us all to reacquaint ourselves with what it takes for a bill to become a law because Toupee Fiasco's cult is running around acting like Obamacare was repealed today.
  23. I called Rep. Joyce this morning to let him know that even though I don't live in his district, I would be more than happy to drive in every week and work on his defeat in 2018. He voted no. Portman is supposed to be in Cleveland tomorrow for a program on human trafficking. He's got to be crapping his pants right now. It's bad enough he'll be in Ohio but bright blue Cleveland? He'll probably have to drink his dinner just to get out of the car.
  24. This moment was brought to you by people who sat home, protest voted or like to say both parties are the same.
  25. The EO Trump is signing today basically says that the IRS can decide whether or not to go after churches who advocate from the pulpit. IOW, nothing changes. The anti-LGBT stuff was just another head fake. I think this is the fourth time they've leaked that the "hate the gays" EO was coming and it never does. It's just a way to make Donnie's rubes feel like he's accomplishing something. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-religious-liberties-executive-order-to-give-irs-discretion-on-enforcement/ In other news, MSNBC's answer to Kim and Kanye have announced their engagement. http://thehill.com/homenews/news/331877-morning-joe-co-hosts-joe-scarborough-and-mika-brzezinski-are-engaged
