It may be Tuesday, February 21, 2017, but it feels like Spring out there lately!

I was checking out Wikipedia for the show and found a lot of errors. I mean, we all know that happens often, but they are off on premiere dates, exits, etc by sometimes several days. But I never noticed they 'made up' an entire family member lmao

It really was the perfect combination of an actress at the top of her game with really great material. 1998 til Tom's exit provided her with (mostly) wonderful stuff to play. 1998 in particular is full of classic Victoria moments but the other years didn't lack at all. I don't really think the Carl story was hurt by the fact that it ended. I suppose some fans wanted to see Carl regain his memories and return to Paul and Mary (after which they likely would not have done much with them -- there was a lot happening on the show at the time). The lack of a happy ending made the whole thing so much sadder and real for me. Besides, they arrived to that ending over a period of several months -- anyone watching could tell it would not be a miraculous, last-minute reunion. And the whole thing was simply worth it for the performances by DD and CC. That being said, I do think an occasional return/visit from Carl would have been good. That sounds like SC's voice to me too but it wasn't Sharon. If I recall correctly, Sharon has yet to learn Alice is about to come back into their lives.

Thanks, Carl! The ending scene is one of my favorite Victoria moments -- and definitely one of the most heartbreaking of the series.

I agree with what you've said re: the usefulness of a reboot, but the show's first season was excellent -- still some of the best primetime soap ever done, and a serious competition to some of cable's best shows currently. After all, the show did do decently enough in the ratings to get a second season renewal (along with whatever magic Spelling worked). That being said, it wasn't buzzworthy and the changes made for Season 2 really did benefit it in popularity. It's only after Season 3 that the writing plummeted to the depths of hell.

That's the 80s DYNASTY. The Colbys were WASPs. Not anymore. Not in this version. Have you read the article(s) regarding the Jeff casting? Blake and Jeff are rivals. I doubt he wants Jeff around Fallon. In fact, as already revealed to us, Fallon may use Jeff as revenge against her father. Therefore, what I said -- that the Colbys being black doesn't hinder a feud -- stands. Does it alter the original structure and history? Sure. But I think it's pretty obvious this is an all-out remake.

I understand what the point is. What does that have to do with what I said about the Colbys?

I don't really see how making the Colbys black stops them from carrying out the Colby vs Carrington feud. I have to wonder if the new Alexis will play that big of a role on this show. Their focus is clearly on the younger characters -- focusing on a 50 y.o. woman (even if they take out a few years) is not the CW's thing. It looks like Cristal's main enemy is Fallon. I am even doubting if she'll ever be brought on in any permanent basis. I'm sure they won't resist for the publicity such an arrival would bring, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's a recurring character. Please share what you can when you do. I'm very curious. It sounds like you don't need any connection to the original to appreciate it, which was 90% trash anyway. That's what I feared. The all-important casting of the female lead seemed, at the very least, rushed. It sounds like they thought she's worked at that network before, she'll do.

I'm behind (as usual) but I just watched Tom Schwartz's proposal to Katie which was a marvel of editing -- It was so tense!! -- and they really got me good with the fake proposal supposedly happening right before Tom was about to do it! Damn it, show! Excellent. Lala has also been an excellent addition on the ho scale. James is vile. Disgusting. Pigs would be ashamed to have him in their presence.

DYNASTY has found its Jeff Colby. They've tweaked the origins/backstory a bit, and I like it. The only things I don't like is Fallon turning against her father and the fact that Blake will be feuding with someone his daughter's age. They are REALLY going for the younger ages with this one.
