  1. Interesting also, that back in those days, all the shows seemed to score covers, not just the top few shows.
  2. Terry O'Sullivan played Judge Sam Stevens. He had of course been Arthur on SFT for many years before quitting and leaving for LA.He played Susan's father on Days before SS. Apparently,he retired in 1970 and relocated to Minnesota. Irecall that he wrote abook about his acting career.
  3. According to the AWHP,Vera Allen was out after the first month. It was mentioned later in June that she was out of town and unable to attend Alice's graduation because her niece Jane was having a baby and she'd left town to be with her. This shot of Ann Wedgeworth (Lahoma) is from 68
  4. Maree Cheatham at the start of her 10 yr stint as Stephanie.
  5. The lovely Pat and the evil Maggie! After a Year Losing James
  6. Patricia Wylie and daughter Christine, two characters who were on briefly in 1982,played by Barbara Baxley and Tracey Brooks Swope. Bill,Lenore and Liz.
  7. 1969 pic of Ron and Audrey
  8. Yes re Cecile. It was puzzling that when they got her back more or less full time for a spell in the 90's,she seemed to make little impression.
  9. Love the fashion spread! Re outfit #5 -Would you iron it or water it?? Some more classic ATWT pix Penny and Don (Richard Holland) Brad and Margo
  10. Some photos to jog our memories Lorie and Jed (Tom Selleck) Baby faced Cricket and NinaSnapper and Chris La DicksonAmanda,Mac's momLee Crawford as Sally Mary and Patty Patty and John
  11. A rare shot of Vana Tribbey as Alice. From everything I've read, she was good in the role and was inexplicably replaced by Linda Borgeson, who was universally disliked. The show hinted at Mitch/Alice,which would have been an interesting twist on the Rachel/Alice rivalry.L Virginia Browne did a good job of retooling the show after Tom King and the the 90 min fiasco, but it went down the drain with the Corinne Jacker reign. Susan Trustman, the original Pat. This cast shot would be around 74/75
  12. Stacy McQueen of web series 'Pretty' auditioned for the role of Jenny on GH I auditioned and screen tested for the role of Jenny. It was between me and a gal named Cheryl Richardson. We hit it off in the waiting room and I told her (and I really meant it) "Well, if I don't get this, I'm going to be happy you got it." She did get it and I was truly happy. I got a call a week later from the wonderful Mark Teshner saying they really liked me and would I like to come on as a candystriper? My manager was like ABSOLUTELY NOT. He pointed out that it was only a three day gig and we should hold out for something bigger. But I was new in town and I LOVED that I didn't have to audition for it. That's how I got the role of candystriper Sheila Cantillion. The three days turned into four, then a week, then a few months and then they offered me a two year contract. Everyone was petrified of late, great Gloria Monty but I really liked her and she really liked me. She always paid extra attention to me and once told me she was grooming me to be the next big thing on the show. Thanks Gloria! But this was during that weird alternate reality time on GH when the wonderful Tony (Luke) Geary came back as some guy named Bill, just a working class Joe. Because we all know what soap fans want is to watch a world that's JUST LIKE THEIRS. Anyway, there was very little glamor and it was all about working and not getting paid. All the ones that had been there forever were really wonderful to work with. Except one. Let's call her "Ms. Soap Diva". She was mean on and off camera. I was so young and still in that place where I wanted everyone to LIKE ME! (Now I don't give a flip) I liked being on the show the most when I got to be funny. When the scene was over, the whole crew applauded, and the producer stopped by later and told that head honchos in New York had called and were really impressed. Everyone talked about how this story line was going to MAKE MY CHARACTER ON THE SHOW. I had a story line for awhile that Bill's cousin and I were always trying to find a place to make out but no matter where we'd end up, we'd always get caught. One time we even ended up in an underground tunnel. (Artie Johnson discovered us!!!) THEN Gloria Monty got fired. Everyone I worked with were getting fired left and right. My story line was growing (Elizabeth Berkley auditioned for my sister!) and we were at a part where I had an abusive father that came back to Port Charles and I got to do this kick ass crying scene. I WAS ON TOP OF THE WORLD! And then... it was completely and utterly dropped. The new producer took hold of the show had different ideas. So there never was any mention of it again. My boyfriend, father and sister were fired, and I would go to work, hand Dr. Quartermaine a clip board and go home. I joked about being the highest paid extra in television. I think the diva she is referring to is Jane Eliot.
  13. Rose did have a romance with Eileen's uncle Paul, played by Stephen Joyce. He had a nagging wife Rita. This was during the 90 min eps. Yes,I remember when Texas was first mentioned,it was said that Russ would be a part along with Pat,who would be involved with Kevin(Lee Paterson) I recall a Daytime Tv review of the 90 min shows and it recounted how we would see for example,Rachel visit Iris, then Mac ,then Ada etc and have long winded conversations-it was very 'draggy' Looking back there were so many miscast roles over that time period -Laurence Lau was wrong for Jamie,Sally Spencer as MJ,Taylor Miller.Sharon Gabet,Laurie Landry ,Rhonda Lewin,Philece Sampler etc etc
  14. Blaine was given a lot of story in the Laura Malone years.3 marriages in 5 years wore out the character and she and Sandy were 'true love' characters so there was little for her to do once they married. Her dismissal was the nail in the coffin for that character. I think Malone went into some sort of legal profession. She was featured in a SOW Where Are They Now? story.
  15. I agree that killing off Quinn was a mistake as she was one of the few characters with any longevity. She hadn't even been married once in her 6 or so years on the show so there was plenty of story potential.I was fine with Clarice and Larry going as they were played out. However, the show was overloaded with females in that age bracket-Rachel,Felicia,Donna,Maisie and Mary .The show was very damaged from all the changes since Lemay left.In principle, refashioning the show around the Cory,Love and McKinnons was a good move but the execution was poor.At the time Whitesell/DePriest said the show needed a proper revamp but their ideas were poorly executed and after a few months it was back to dropping characters and bringing in newbies. I would have tied Maisie into the McKinnons by having her involved with Vince and Vince and Maisie become the new core working class couple after Vince and Mary realized their time had passed Maisie could have some secrets in her past..MJ as the strong police officer daughter and Ben as the hot younger son.Explore his history with Marley and attraction to Vicky for a Ben/Marley/Jake/Vicky quadrangle with lots of twists and turns. Have Nancy get involved with Scott and eliminate Cheryl. No Adam Cory as that branch of the family never rang true to me. Jamie back (not as adoctor, but working at Cory) and you have Jamie/MJ/Nicole as a ready made triangle as Jamie had previous involvements with both at different times. The MJ prostitution story was way better suited to Nicole considering her past as cocaine addict.Have her ex lover/pimp/whatever return and intimidate her.Maybe he makes a play for Vicky to taunt Nicole who is unable to say much for fear her past will be exposed and she'll lose Jamie.MJ gets involved with her new partner, who is in a troubled marriage. Oh,and bring back the Matthews with Mike Randolph,a daughter for Russ.Have LIz,Russ,Pat etc as recurring players. Iris and Dennis should have come back earlier. Maybe Iris and Reg?
  16. New York Times article dealing with 94 yr old Celeste Holm's (Isabelle and widow of Wesley Addy(Cabot) struggles with her family over money and the battle with her 48 yr old husband. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/03/nyregion/love-and-inheritance-celeste-holms-family-feud.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&ref=nyregion&src=mv
  17. Thanks for that.it's good to see the whole story in one spot.Tina was Toni Bull Bua. I liked the idea of Sandy being brought back in.Too often soaps neglected viable characters from the past. However,Sandy's story seemed to fizzle out after this.Didn't she marry Kevin? Jimmy never came back.He could have boosted the younger set.I wonder if the show had Ellen and Sandy interact much as Ellen had been aged so much.
