  1. Thank you for posting. Several characters mentioned that I was not aware of.Love uncovering this stuff!
  2. Jeffery Hayden, who worked as a director on SB,as part of a long career died December 24 2015.He was married to Eva Marie Saint.
  3. Lincoln Kilpatrick as Joe Bond in 69
  4. Polly Childs (Kate Lodge) backstage at Secret Storm studio 1963
  5. Kings Crossing debuted with a 17.1 /27 share on ABC .Following that a 90 min Fantasy Island score 16.3/27. NBC had a disaster with the lowest rated shows for the season 'Alice at the Palace' 5.0/8 and 'Caruso Remembered 3.3/5 CBS took the night with Disney 'Tales of the Apple Dumpling Gang' 23.6/37 and TV movie 'Help Wanted:Male' 28.8/47
  6. Jeanne Lange and John Getz as Carol and Neil. Pretty much forgotten now but I think Carol was quite a major character at the time?
  7. I wonder if there was any thought given to having Peter Burnell return as Mike in the late 70's. Or were the execs at that time unaware of him? Of course he may not have wanted to return. But with the continued recasting of the character, it was probably worth considering.
  8. Chuckling at that clip... I'm pretty sure they weren't expecting it to look like an ad for Bay City's hottest gay club.
  9. Francine York, who played Lorraine Temple in the late 70s, has died aged 80. She was the mother of Donna (Tracey Bergman) whose father was Don Craig (Jed Allan).
  10. John Pleshette (Richard, Knots Landing) appeared in an episode as a record shop employee. He didnt look much different than he did on Knots as it was only 6 years time difference.
  11. David Allen Brooks was the temp Keith. He had been on EON.
  12. Kurt Costner, man of mystery! Boring character...originally he was introduced via Katherine. I wonder if there were plans to tie him to her in some way.My memory is hazy but was this at a time that Katherine had no story?
  13. Constance Forslund got a publicity push when she was chosen to portray Marilyn Monroe in the Moviola mini series. It didn't score in the ratings and that seemed to be it for her as a primetime star.
  14. Not sure as to whether Madisons exact location was specified.I thought that the Madison location wasnt specified till mid 70s (under Marland?) but now recall that it was mentioned much earlier (in the current reruns)Am I imagining this?? BTW,the latest ep (earlier Dec 72) now lists James Lipton as writer along with the Pollocks. Am sure Eric Montreal will want to tune in to see his favorite soap writer
  15. Dick Latessa, who played Noel Douglas in the mid 70s has died aged 87.
  16. A summary of storylines during the transition from Browne/Potter to Long/Culliton/Kobe Guiding Light Written by: L. Virginia Browne / Richard Culliton & Pamela K. Long Produced by: Allen Potter / Gail Kobe Rebecca escaped unhurt but Quint suffered multiple injuries in the car crash. Nola hovered at Quint’s bedisde. Amanda insisted Mark return to Jennifer but Jennifer mysteriously split town after Amanda confessed her affair with Mark. Susannah (Susie) got closer to Tony but kept her past a secret. Mark avoided a face-to-face meeting with Mona’s (Rebecca’s) father, Peter, who is staying at Alan’s. Vanessa cried crocodile tears over Quint. Hope tried to befriend Amanda. Lt. Wyatt investigated Quint’s accident. Violet told Nola that Quint is really Henry’s son, Sean. Phillip boozed it up instead of studying for an exam. Ed and Maureen married. Trish remembered that Mona dated Quint in Europe. Lesley Ann was fed up that Floyd is preoccupied with Nola’s problems. Bert agreed Rick could move in with her after Ed and Maureen return from their honeymoon. Justin performed successful surgery on Quint. Josh and Morgan failed to find Jennifer. Brian tailed Peter. Alan warned Mark to toe the line at Spaulding or he’ll fire him. Helena noticed Vanessa’s interest when Peter remembered Mona had known Quint. Eve got an invitation from Ben to join him in Rome. Mark got a note that Mona is alive. Ballet master Edward warned Susie won’t be happy if she gives up her career. Kelly left town, taking a leave of absence from Cedars. Mark rightly suspected Brian let Peter die of a heart attack after Peter recognized Brian. Phillip accused Hope of keeping him and Alan apart. Morgan got a letter from Jennifer, who warned Mark will dump Amanda. Morgan stole Mark’s passport then went to Brian’s hotel room looking for Jennifer. Quint and pal Gunther prepared for an archaeological dig even though Silas wrote a warning note that they abandon the project. Alan and Justin clashed over how to discipline Phillip. Floyd fixed up his new pad. Mark confessed to Amanda that his father committed suicide after Alan’s father ruined him financially. Helena insisted she didn’t tell Silas about Quint and Gunther’s Tanquir dig. Quint told Nola that Henry may not remember but they once had a confrontation about Quint being Sean. Floyd and Lesley Ann moved into their new digs. Alan was miffed that Amanda always sides with Mark, whom Alan fired. Brian told Mark that he suspected Mona secretly left Paris and is back in the States. Quint told Violet he must go to Tanquir to clear his name before he can admit his true identity to Henry. Josh refused to move in with Morgan.
  17. Zsa Zsa Gabor, who guested on ATWT as Lydia Marlowe, has passed away aged 99. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/18/movies/zsa-zsa-gabor-often-married-actress-known-for-glamour-dies.html
  18. Thanks for posting that.Very interesting. That picture claiming to be of Mia Farrow? Its grainy but doesnt look like Mia to me.
  19. Do not hold a lit match near these two...
  20. I always pictured a fantasy sequence where Alice imagined being reunited with Steve.
  21. I think the decision to drop Sara was from P&G as another cost cutting/younger push.
  22. Doug Marland kept the Bauers going during his stint and introduced the Reardons as the newer core family to provide a counter balance and fresh story possibilities for the 80s. Once he left both families were lost in the shuffle.By 85 Tony,Nola,Jim etc had already gone and Im sure Chelsea was not a Marland creation in his original family outline. Pam Longs initial revamp brought ratings and interest but the problem was there was little story to sustain the characters long term.Things like Susan Piper and Dreaming Death could have happened to any characters on the canvas.
  23. When Althea returned, the writers at the time decided to kill off Penny. A bizarre decision...Althea had already lost one child,it cut off a whole area of story for her and got rid of a young female character with heaps of story potential that was tied to a legacy character..
  24. I don't know why they didn't just recast Penny,if she was so important to the story. I remember Afternoon TV reviewing Marland's stint and saying that as interesting as the stories were, they were not connected to the hospital and the show was not living up to its title.
  25. Fritz Weaver, who played Hugo Marick, has died at the age of 90. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/fritz-weaver-dead-tony-winning-actor-was-90-950718
