1990s babies would have started Kindergarten in the aftermath of OJ, and as we all know soaps were never the same at that point so it's interesting to learn what drew 1990s babies to soaps. Those born in 1990 and 1991 would have started Kindergarten Fall 1995 and Fall 1996 during Reilly Days. 1992 birth would have started Kindergarten in Fall 1997 and by then Reilly Days were done. I was born on a weekday but my birth week isn't in it's ratings thread yet LOL.

He was nominated 2003 and 2004 for Port Charles, 2006 and 2009 for All My Children, 2020 and 2021 for B&B. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood 3rd Lead Actress win ties her w/ Helen Gallagher, Maura West, Heather Tom in the Lead Actress list and places her behind Erika Slezak, Susan Flannery, Kim Zimmer. It's crazy that B&B has more Lead Actress wins than Y&R. B&B 3 each for Susan Flannery, Heather Tom, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood. Y&R 1 each for Jess Walton, Michelle Stafford, Jeanne Cooper, Gina Tognoni, Eileen Davidson, Mishael Morgan.

If Google is correct, Eden McCoy is the first Daytime Emmy winner in the acting categories that was born in the 2000s.

Not to derail this thread, but B&B did have a bit of a cast switch in 1992. Departures of Lauren Koslow, Todd McKee, Peter Brown, Daniel McVicar, Colleen Dion. Debuts of Chris Robinson, Kimberlin Brown, Brent Jasmer. Michael Watson had a short run. Teri Ann Linn returned for a short arc.

May 1992 was a huge month for both Y&R and B&B. Y&R had the baby switch reveal, Sheila disappearance, Victor collapsing and Jack leaves for Victor dead. B&B had Sheila arrival, Brooke learns she is pregnant, Ridge and Taylor get married. Guiding Light April 30, 1992 Hamp and Gilly get married and Monti Sharp debut, and May 1, 1992 Roberta Flack guest appearance. Despite Guiding Light ratings during Calhoun's run (remember that time slot rival General Hospital was 2nd for most of Calhoun's run), I think he left the show in pretty good shape when JFP took over. Yes JFP got the ratings up but as we are seeing in this thread, the ratings rise is overlapping with General Hospital tanking.

Lets see how the 1992 ratings go before it can be said that James Reilly cannot get there fast enough.

I though the new syndicated talk shows of Fall 1991 would have an impact on Santa Barbara. The next big syndicated talk show debut that I can think of would be Ricki Lake in Fall 1993.

I remember Jerry Douglas (RIP) once sang on Y&R and he was pretty good.

I remember a 1983 scene where Nikki was all jealous and insecure about Victor and Julia becoming close again. Julia even said to Nikki "you're acting like a jealous wife". Eventually Nikki made peace with Julia. Remember Julia was at Victor and Nikki wedding and at Cora's Christmas in July at the ranch.

I always thought B&B clearances went up when they started showing growth, but yes, the clearances are about the same as the beginning of the run. It might have been posted here that around 1992 or 1993 Lee Bell personally visited every CBS affiliate that was not carrying B&B in an attempt to get them to add B&B to the line up.

If only the ratings rise happened under Robert Calhoun's watch and not JFP's. I will forever maintain that Robert Calhoun laid all the groundwork but JFP took all the credit.
