  4. Real time only shows how inconsistent SORAS messed up everything. It's crazy that the real time difference between Victoria and Claire is 16 years, Nick and Noah is 9 years (I didn't include Noah on the list because he's not currently active on the canvas), and Nick and Summer is 18 years.
  5. Current adult characters that were born on the show and their real time ages in 2024. Heather: 45 Victoria: 42 Chance: 36 Nick: 36 Chloe: 34 Nate: 32 Billy: 31 Daniel: 30 Lily: 29 Adam: 29 Claire: 26 Kyle: 24 Abby: 24 Summer: 18 I think I got them all.
  6. Inspired by @Paul Raven posts earlier in this thread looking back at 1986/87 ratings, I'm tracing the path of Aaron Spelling reaching his goal of Dynasty being bigger and better than Dallas. 1982/83: Dynasty gets its first weekly win over Dallas and overall gets three weekly wins over Dallas. These episodes were November 10, 1982: The Wedding, rating 25.8, 3rd for the week. Dallas (November 12: Hit and Run, rating 24.7) was 4th. December 29, 1982: The Locket, rating 19.3, 16th for the week. Dallas (December 31: Mama Dearest, rating 18.3) was 24th. February 2, 1983: Two Flights to Haiti, rating 24.3, 4th for the week. Dallas (February 4: Crash of ’83, rating 24.0) was 5th. At the end of the season, Dynasty was 5th (up from 19th in 1981/82) and Dallas was 2nd (down from #1 in 1981/82). 1983/84: Dynasty gets its first weekly #1 finish over Dallas and overall gets two #1 finishes and two weekly wins over Dallas. These episodes were January 11, 1984: Lancelot, rating 25.7, 3rd for the week. Dallas (January 13: Offshore Crude, rating 24.2) was 6th. March 14, 1984: The Voice (Part 1), rating 24.6, #1. Dallas (March 16: The Unexpected, rating 24.4) was 2nd. May 2, 1984: New Lady in Town, rating 25.2, #1. Dallas (May 4: Love Stories, rating 23.8) was 2nd. May 9, 1984: The Nightmare (season 4 finale), rating 25.7, 3rd for the week. Dallas (May 11: Hush, Hush Sweet Jessie, rating 24.4) was 4th. At the end of the season, Dynasty was 3rd and Dallas was #1. 1984/85: Aaron Spelling went all out to be the biggest and best, mainly by cashing in on Diana-mania. Little did we know that a rookie hit was waiting in the wings ready to blow up. I divide 1984/85 into two parts, pre-Super Bowl and post-Super Bowl. Pre-Super Bowl September 26, 1984: Disappearance (season 5 premiere), rating 22.2, 4th for the week. Dallas (September 28: Killer at Large (season 8 premiere), rating 26.4) was #1 and The Cosby Show (September 27: Goodbye, Mr. Fish (episode 2), rating 22.5) was 3rd. October 3, 1984: Pre-empted for American League Championship Series. Dallas (October 5: Battle Lines, rating 24.7) was #1 and The Cosby Show (October 4: Bad Dreams (episode 3), rating 21.9) was 5th. (episode 4), rating 20.6, 9th). October 17, 1984: Fallon, rating 26.1, #1. Dallas (October 19: Jamie, rating 24.6) was 2nd and The Cosby Show (October 18: A Shirt Story (episode 5), rating 21.3) was 7th. October 24, 1984: The Rescue, rating 26.3, #1. Dallas (October 26: Family, rating 25.9) was 2nd and The Cosby Show (October 25: Breaking with Tradition (episode 6), rating 21.2) was 8th. October 31, 1984: The Trial, rating 24.9, 2nd for the week. Finished ahead of The Cosby Show (November 1: One More Time (episode 7), rating 20.0, 8th). Dallas (November 2: Shadow of Doubt, rating 27.1) was #1. November 7, 1984: The Verdict, rating 25.7, 2nd for the week. Finished ahead of The Cosby Show (November 8: Play it Again, Vanessa (episode 8), rating 21.2, 7th). Dallas (November 9: Homecoming, rating 26.2) was #1. November 14, 1984: Amanda, rating 23.5, 5th for the week. Finished ahead of The Cosby Show (November 15: How Ugly is He? (episode 9), rating 22.5, 6th). Dallas (November 16: Oil Barons Ball III, rating 26.5) was 2nd. November 21, 1984: The Secret, rating 24.3, 3rd for the week. Finished ahead of Dallas (November 23: Shadows, rating 22.6, 5th) and The Cosby Show (November 22: Bonjour Sondra (episode 10), rating 16.7, 18th). November 28, 1984: Domestic Intrigue, rating 25.2, 3rd for the week. Dallas (November 30: Charlie, rating 25.9) was 2nd. The Cosby Show was a repeat on November 29. December 5, 1984: Krystina, rating 25.3, #1. Dallas (December 7: Barbecue Five, rating 24.7) was 3rd and The Cosby Show (December 6: You're Not a Mother Night (episode 11), rating 23.1) was 4th. December 12, 1984: Swept Away, rating 26.5, #1. Dallas (December 14: Do You Take This Woman, rating 25.2) was 2nd and The Cosby Show (December 13: Rudy’s Sick (episode 12), rating 21.3) was 6th. December 19, 1984: That Holiday Spirit, rating 25.9, #1. Dallas (December 21: Deja Vu, rating 23.0) was 4th and The Cosby Show (December 20: Father’s Day (episode 13), rating 21.7) was 6th. December 26, 1984: Pre-empted for a rebroadcast of Malibu. Dallas (December 28: Odd Man Out, rating 24.5) was #1. The Cosby Show was a repeat on December 27. Dallas (January 11: Winds of War, rating 27.8 (season high)) was #1. January 16, 1985: The Treasure, rating 27.0, 4th for the week. The Cosby Show (January 17: Physician of the Year (episode 15), rating 27.9) was 3rd. No Dallas on January 18. On a win-loss basis, Dynasty pre-Super Bowl was 7-7 vs. Dallas and 11-2 vs. new episodes of The Cosby Show. Notice that the pre-Super Bowl episodes are bookended by the losses to The Cosby Show. Dynasty pre-Super Bowl 15 episodes average was 25.5. Dallas pre-Super Bowl 16 episodes average was 25.3. Post-Super Bowl January 23, 1985: Foreign Relations, rating 25.0, 3rd for the week. 7. Nobody is mourning his loss. Speculating here, but I think the autopsy will reveal he had CTE. Not that it excuses the way he lived his life.
  8. I pointed this out in the ratings thread, but I think the real issues began in the late 1980s with Iran-Contra, Nielsen people meters, and 1988 writer's strike, and everything culminated in the aftermath of OJ.
  9. Yeah, I can't believe the reference to real time when thanks to SORASing we know it's not the case.
  10. I think The Gates will launch after the March Madness break, so going by the March Madness 2025 dates on March Madness Final Four: Future dates & sites (ncaa.com) , I say series premiere is Monday March 24, 2025. As for what will be the time filler when The Talk ends, I think it will probably be extra episodes of The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal, but deep down I'm hoping for Y&R/B&B classics.
  11. I couldn't believe they mentioned the number of years in real time. I guess Victoria and Nick have de-aged to their real ages 41 and 35
  12. Oh yeah, forgot about Chance. I was sensing some tension between Summer and Claire, and it looked like Claire was intrigued by Kyle.
  13. Speculation: I think we're going to get a Summer/Kyle/Claire triangle. Cousins fighting over a guy.
  14. Which cost him $5M.
  15. Seinfeld clones too. NBC had so many garbage Thursday 8:30 pm/9:30 pm sitcoms in the Seinfeld/ER/Friends era. Some of those shows I have no memory of at all.
  16. The ad @Paul Raven posted is for episode 4, Hooray for Homicide, original air date October 28, 1984.
  17. @Soapsuds You reminded me of another remake of a Supremes song
  18. Totally agree. There's just something so warm and comforting about Murder, She Wrote.
  19. I don't believe so. Dylan has been wiped from the canon.
  20. Murder, She Wrote Sunday 8 pm time slot competition. 1984/85: ABC Hardcastle & McCormick, later specials/movies/miniseries. NBC Knight Rider. 1985/86: ABC MacGyver, later Disney Sunday Movie (7-9 pm). NBC 8 pm Amazing Stories, 8:30 pm Alfred Hitchcock Presents. 1986/87: ABC Disney Sunday Movie (7-9 pm). NBC 8 pm Easy Street, 8:30 Valerie, later 8 pm Rags to Riches. Fox 8 pm Married...with Children, 8:30 pm Tracey Ullman Show. 1987/88: ABC Spenser: For Hire, later Disney Sunday Movie (7-9 pm), then Supercarrier. NBC 8 pm Family Ties, 8:30 pm My Two Dads, later Day by Day. Fox 8 pm Married...with Children, later Werewolf, then America's Most Wanted, 8:30 pm Married...with Children. 1988/89: ABC Mission: Impossible, later Moonlighting. NBC 8 pm Family Ties, 8:30 pm Day by Day. Fox 8 pm America's Most Wanted, 8:30 pm Married...with Children. 1989/90: ABC 8 pm Free Spirit, later America's Funniest Home Videos; 8:30 pm Homeroom, later Free Spirit, then Elvis. NBC 8 pm Sister Kate, then Ann Jillian, later ALF; 8:30 pm My Two Dads, then Sister Kate, later 227. Fox 8 pm America's Most Wanted, 8:30 pm Totally Hidden Video, later The Simpsons. 1990/91: ABC 8 pm America's Funniest Home Videos, 8:30 pm America's Funniest People. NBC 8 pm Lifestories, then 8 pm Real Life with Jane Pauley, 8:30 pm Expose. Fox 8 pm In Living Color, 8:30 pm Get a Life. 1991/92: ABC 8 pm America's Funniest Home Videos, 8:30 pm America's Funniest People. NBC 8 pm Man of the People, then Hot Country Nights, later Mann & Machine; 8:30 pm Pacific Station. Fox 8 pm In Living Color, 8:30 pm Roc. 1992/93: ABC 8 pm America's Funniest Home Videos, 8:30 pm America's Funniest People; then Day One. NBC I Witness Video. Fox 8 pm In Living Color, 8:30 pm Roc. 1993/94: ABC Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. NBC SeaQuest DSV. Fox 8 pm Martin, 8:30 pm Living Single. 1994/95: ABC Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. NBC SeaQuest DSV. Fox 8 pm The Simpsons, 8:30 pm Hardball, then House of Buggin', later The Critic. The biggest Sunday competition I'd say was America's Funniest Home Videos as that was the only show on this list that was able to finish ahead of Murder, She Wrote in the seasonal ratings. 1989/90 America's Funniest Home Videos first season was 5th and Murder, She Wrote was 13th. 1990/91 America's Funniest Home Videos was 7th and Murder, She Wrote was 12th.
  21. The Cosby Show and Growing Pains Both shows were set in New York. Both shows had a doctor father that worked from an office that was a part of their home. Both shows had a teenage son that struggled academically.
  22. I hate when that happens. Your storylines are way better than anything Josh Griffith has come up with.
  23. JM is 50 and his whole overgrown frat boy persona is just so ridiculous at this point.
  24. Friday episode mentioned the anniversary of Victor and Nikki first wedding. With April 13 being a Saturday, the celebration episode would be April 15. In real time it's 40 years but given SORASing they can't really mention the number of years.
