  1. 1993 dates I'm pretty certain Y&R didn't air: Friday January 1 - New Year's Day Thursday March 18 and Friday March 19 - NCAA Men's Basketball Monday September 6 and Friday September 10 - US Open Tennis Monday September 13 (possible but not 100% certain) - CBS news coverage of Oslo Accords signing Thursday November 25 and Friday November 26 - Thanksgiving
  2. I never thought of Ryan (and Scott Reeves) as being any kind of prize catch. Speaking of which, Scott Reeves guest starred on Finding Carter recently and he hasn't aged very well.
  3. I second soapfan770s sentiments Spring 1990-Summer 1994, Summer 1997-end 1999 were Y&R's best years of the 1990s.
  4. I wouldn't want that at this point anyways. That would mean Billy and Victoria are related. Yuck! Lol Besides, it would have been discovered during baby Katherine's DNA test.
  5. For years there was speculation that Billy was Victor's child and not John Abbott's. The Jill/Victor affair took place around October/November 1992. Jill learned she was pregnant in March 1993. Billy was born on-screen in July 1993 and he was not premature. Just from the math I can see why the possibility of Victor being Billy's father was out there. Given storylines over the last 6 years, thankfully that didn't happen.
  6. Mine too. Loved her as Blake. Losing both Sherry Stringfield and Beverlee McKinsey (RIP) in the same month was a huge blow to the show. I stopped watching not long after. I was feeling nostalgic over the holiday weekend and found myself rewatching summer/fall 1989 episodes. CBS daytime on the whole was so awesome in the late 1980s/early 1990s, with the game show block and 4 daytime dramas at full steam. I had totally forgotten Michelle Forbes was on GL. I started watching in spring 1989 and I believe she was gone by the end of year, so I only watched the tail end of her run. I looked Michelle Forbes up on IMDb and she's been working steadily for the last 25 years and in some big hits, I'm impressed. Her latest entry on IMDb is the upcoming Hunger Games movie, wow. Anybody know what became of Kimberley Simms? I thought she was really pretty, and looked a lot like Christie Brinkley. I read that she was considered for two major recasts in the mid 1990s, Jennifer on Days and Ashley on Y&R, but as we know nothing came of it. Her IMDb entry only has a couple of entries post-GL so she might have retired from acting. I didn't watch GL for very long (spring 1989 to summer 1992) but I'm glad I did for those great years.
  7. 25 years ago this month: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2Ixvi-8CJg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DhPHA_7vpc (clip is dubbed in French) I watched this episode when it originally aired on CBS, and I cried so much afterwards.
  8. YRfan23, what other July 1991 episodes do you have? I believe that month would also have Scott Reeves first episode.
  9. YRfan23, thanks for posting the May 1990 episodes you have. What a treat it was to see Victoria Rowell's first two episodes. I was surprised to find out she was almost 31 years old when she started on Y&R. So Dru arrived before Olivia and Sheila, and Mamie was also recast the same month. I'm pretty sure Tonya Lee Williams's first scenes were with Veronica Redd's Mamie.
  10. And we got stuck with the then Mrs. Ronn Moss for three years.
  11. New Year's Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas have usually been the holidays with no episodes. Then there are the March Madness and US Open breaks.
  12. YRfan23, how much of January 1994 do you have? I remember some pre-emptions during the week of January 17-21 due to coverage of the Los Angeles earthquake.
  13. This month marks the 25th anniversary of the arrivals of Kimberlin Brown, Victoria Rowell, and Tonya Lee Williams. I know Kimberlin's first episode was online years ago, but I don't recall seeing Victoria or Tonya's first episodes anywhere. Sadly, yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of Jeanne Cooper's passing. May she RIP. Don't know if this video is posted but Jeanne is hilarious in this (starting at 4:00): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzendVxnqJI
  14. The 1980s were a scary time for fashion.
  15. Today (January 19) would've been Ridge and Caroline's 25th anniversary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMvCR_h8i-c The subtitled clips were all I could find of the wedding episode.
  16. Well, as of 2014 B&B does have more acting Emmy wins than Days.
  17. Darlene Conley (RIP) was the first actor from B&B to be nominated for a daytime Emmy. She had 2 nominations for supporting actress in 1991 and 1992.
  18. Who didn't have beef with Brenda Dickson? I think she got along with Jeanne Cooper and Terry Lester, but that was really it. I know Jerry Douglas has spoken of his dislike of her in interviews.
  19. I don't remember reading anything about Eric Braeden and his working relationship with Terry Lester. I also don't recall Eric ever commenting on Terry's passing nearly 11 years ago. As far as I know, the only co-stars Eric has had beef with were Brenda Dickson (I don't recall her Jill interacting that much with Victor though), Peter Bergman, and Michael Muhney.
  20. IIRC, this is when Traci became pregnant with Colleen.
  21. At 3:09-3:26, is that Katherine Kelly Lang? I know she was on Y&R in the early 1980s as Patty's friend Gretchen.
  22. I know, hard to believe that Y&R got no acting nominations until 1984, and no acting wins until 1985 (Beth Maitland for Supporting Actress and Tracey Bregman for Younger Actress, the first year that award was given). Y&R's first writing nomination was 1975, and first writing win was 1992. It was 1986 that Y&R was given the writing Emmy in error.
  23. Terry Lester was nominated four consecutive years (1984-1987) for Lead Actor at the Daytime Emmys and how he didn't win is beyond me. He was the first Y&R actor to ever be nominated for a Daytime Emmy, yes even before Eric Braeden (who's first nomination was in 1987) and Jeanne Cooper (who's first nomination was in 1989 and she was also Y&R's first lead actress nominee).
  24. So it seems that Bill Bell used elements of 1970s Katherine, Jennifer Brooks, and Vanessa Prentiss for B&B's Stephanie. Funny that John McCook was son to one character and husband to another.
  25. And he still comes across as an overgrown frat boy, even though he's 40 years old.
