  1. Such scraping the bottom of the barrel with these BH additions, although I like Teddi. It’s like putting rusty metal patches on a sinking ship. I just don’t see how the show survives with its current dynamics, with Kyle/Lisa V.’s love/hate dance eating the show and deeply unlikable folks like Lisa Rinna, Dorit, and Erika still around.
  2. Totally. Both sides can be shady. Folks like Julianne Moore and Justin Hartley are just a few of the exceptions who still shout their soap backgrounds from the rooftops, though. Hartley seems to talk about Passions in every interview.
  3. One reason why I think reducing the number of eps a soap produces each year and taking breaks would fail is that soaps are very much a habitual phenomenon. Even monthly breaks just give viewers the opportunity to form other habits. Primetime shows that increase viewership despite year-long like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones are by far the minority. Most shows (even good ones) lose significant viewership each year, and it takes a lot of marketing budget to rope viewers back in, budget that most networks wouldn’t have even with reduced production.
  4. I’m in love with this guy’s Instagram.
  5. True. But they definitely need a break. Wouldn’t mind not seeing the Cybermen for a while as well. Bring on the new monsters.
  6. This is already encouraging. Moffat overplayed the Daleks just as much as he did the Weeping Angels.
  7. I’m not sold yet, but not because of Jodie Whittaker, who will knock it out of the park, but because of Chibnall. Having a writer’s room could be a great thing, and he says that the show will have one-episode arcs instead of the heavy, confusing serialization that often bogged down RTD and Moffat.
  8. For the fellow former Britpop fans.
  9. Just saw this on Twitter. Just shocking and horrific.
  10. Yeah. When all else fails, play victim, and I suppose the Crazy Ex-Husband drama is a winning issue. Although I wonder if she’s gone to the Hoppy well too many times. Of course, what’s she’s going through is terrible, but it doesn’t absolve her of responsibility for her behavior. And some of the other women like Dorinda and Ramona have been in enough scraps with Bethenny that they may be more ambivalent to her breakdown. I dunno, I’d hate to see Bethenny wiggle her way out of this, and Carole, as annoying as she can be, is as smart or smarter than B and can hold her accountable.
  11. The reactions to Ramona hobbling out of the wheelchair into the car made me double over with laughter. Such contempt. 😂 Tinsley actually forced them to select rooms in an orderly manner. Is that a HW first? Bethenny started all of that, and it serves her right to feel the pinch after years of bullying other HWs. It’s refreshing to see people not back down to her. EDIT: I feel for Bethenny, I really do, but it’s ironic that she’s having a Kelly Bensimon moment on this Cartagena trip.
  12. I think some of it comes from older fans (who are the vast majority) who feel like broadcast/cable TV confers some legitimacy, which is baffling in an age when Netflix outscores HBO at the Emmy nominations. Like why should the Daytime Emmys have to be on Periscope when the Primetime Emmys and the Tonys are aired on big networks. They may not realize that the Golden Globes, the second most-watched awards ceremony, have been close to going to Amazon.
  13. Such fun.
  14. I wonder who they are too @slick jones. Gotta love hot twins.
  15. I was expecting worse given it was up against the World Cup final. The full day ratings for Saturday, conclusion of Nadal/Djokovic and the Kerber/Serena final, was up 86 percent over from 2017, most likely due to Serena’s return.
  16. At one of my old jobs, I organized a web chat years ago to promote the first season of Ladies of London, and from my limited contact with the cast, Annabelle was by far the most easygoing. This is terribly sad.
