But you know how the GOP (and the media, who's pretty much in the tank for the GOP) operates. Sooner or later, they'll dig up some anguished woman with a tale about how Walz either raped her or tried to rape her years ago at some sketchy airport motel in Nebraska. I mean, there's always a Donna Rice (or Fawne Hall, or Gennifer Flowers, or Monica Lewinsky, or Kathleen Willey, or Rielle Hunter, or Leeann Tweeden, or Tara Reade, or...) always nibbling around somewhere. (And yes, I know that's not the thing to say in post-#MeToo America, where we are supposed to believe the victim no matter what, but...).

Like I said before, I'm sure the media will find some skeleton in Tim Walz's closet. (They already have with the past DUI arrest, but that doesn't seem to be "sticking" thus far). But, short of learning he once killed a man*, or groped a bunch of cheerleaders at a pep rally, I think - or at least I hope - voters will stick with him, and with Kamala Harris, because what he has done to turn the tide in this election in such a short period of time is remarkable. (*And even if that happens, I'll be the first to say, "So, the gun went off.")

If I were in Donald Trump's position, and I had the sense God gave a dung beetle, I would be thinking up a possible exit strategy. If not for myself, then definitely for my running mate, who's becoming more and more of a liability to my campaign every day.

Good! You'll find a similar point-of-view among my fellow Oklahoma Citians, as well as those who live in the Tulsa metropolitan area, both of which lean left, Tulsa more so than OKC. It's only in the more rural areas of our state where you find those whose thinking aligns more with the GOP. (That's why elections in OK are never any fun. OKC and Tulsa have been frustrated with Kevin Stitt and Ryan Walters from day one, but there's nothing we can do, because it's the small town, low-info, "guns and God" voters who keep screwing the rest of us over. We are the very definition of a bad electorate.)

Out of the candidates (both official and rumored) who didn't get the gig, I feel like Kelly would have been another safe, solid choice who could have appealed to progressives, centrists/moderates, independents and swing voters across the board, followed by Beshear. Of course, there also was the very real danger of Kelly fading into the woodwork like Tim Kaine before him. He would've needed to come across with more energy and enthusiasm, which Walz, a one-time Social Studies teacher who's used to getting people excited about stuff they otherwise wouldn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about, has in spades. Shapiro, on the other hand, seems like a solid enough politician, but (sorry, @Vee) he comes with too much baggage, especially for the far-left whom, I'm sorry to say, we need along w/ independents and disgruntled Republicans if we're going to win. (And as for Buttigieg...? Well. The more I think about it, the more I think he's primed more to be president rather than vice. It's just a matter of time and waiting to see when, or even if, the country will be ready to embrace an openly gay man as its' commander-in-chief.)

I agree. Besides, Trump doesn't need a public appearance to make an even bigger ass of himself. He can stay home and do the same thing on Truth Social, or whatever the hell they call it. But I definitely agree that his symptoms are making it harder and harder for his team to control him (that is, if they ever could, lol). I'll be honest: I would have DIED if Harris had picked someone like Stacey Abrams to be her running mate. America, in the hands of two Black women. I'm not sure the rest of the country would have liked that, but I, for one, would have LOVED it.

I'm sure Team Trump would argue that it's because of the (highly suspicious) attempt on his life, but I think it's obvious to most everyone why they're REALLY restricting his public appearances.

I just love how so many are so amazed at VP Harris' political acumen in choosing Walz for her running mate, as if being Black and a woman precludes her from understanding how politics works. Clearly, we didn't learn a damn thing from Barack Obama. #BlackFolksKnowThings I'm sure the media will do their damnedest to find some dirt on Gov. Walz - and if/when they do, I'm sure it'll involve "inappropriate behavior," too. When that happens, though, I'll just politely remind them of the following figures: Marla Maples. E. Jean Carroll. Stormy Daniels. Wake me when he has a dog named Digger.

That makes sense. Minnesotans, I find, are hearty people, with a mind-your-own-business mentality. Even the ones who tend to lean Republican probably look at Donald Trump and JD Vance, shake their heads and sigh, "Ah, jeez."

I think Mary Trump summed it up best on X: "Checkmate." In a way, I'm not surprised that VP Harris' team has chosen Gov. Walz. The minute I saw pictures of him hugging kids and animals, I knew there had to be no other choice. I mean, a grown-ass man huggin' a pig. It don't GET more heartland than that, lol. At the very least, progressives on the far left now have to work hard to find another reason NOT to vote for Harris. I'm sure they'll find that reason, too, but it's gonna take some work!

Peter Brouwer is the kind of quirky-looking actor I'll always favor, but he was simply wrong for a role like Brad Hollister.

Pam Long tends not to remember a lot of her own stories (which is understandable, since soap scribes burn through so much material on a regular basis). For instance, she said she didn't write Reva's 1990 exit, but I watched it BITD, and I can tell you, that baby had her fingerprints all over it.

I've always liked Michael Woods' work, starting with GL, where he played Dr. Jim Reardon. He isn't the greatest of actors, but he's handsome enough and carries enough of a presence to keep your attention.

I could tell from his voice that it was Robin Thomas (ex-Dr. Mark Singleton, AW) playing the psychiatrist. On the other hand: I could be wrong, but I think that was Margo McKenna (ex-Betsy, LOL; ex-Emily, EON) as the woman talking with Rick at 5:00.

"And that is Dallas." I'll say this much for VP Harris and her campaign team: at least they've learned to take off their proverbial gloves. All that that "we go high" business was doing for Democrats was putting them on a bridge to nowhere.

IMO, there was almost TOO much going on in that episode. You had Cricket/Margo/Brian/Tom; James/Karen/Burke (kinda) AND James/Barbara/Gunnar/Bob; Betsy/Steve/Craig/Sam; David/Ellen/Jeff/Annie; and even a little bit of stuff with Gunnar, Tucker and the Nicole lookalike. That's a lot of storylines to cram into an episode; and aside from the stuff involving James, each character grouping seemed to operate in its' own bubble.
