  1. Valerie Spencer, yes who had an affair with Dante, and sort-of dated Kristina when played by Lexi. But Valerie is first cousins with Carly and Lulu. Valerie's mother Pat was older sister of Bobbie and Luke.
  2. The point of this was to telecast **LIVE** soccer matches from Europe. These particular matches of the Champions League are played Tuesday and Wednesday evenings -- at 8:00 pm France and Germany time (or 7:00 pm England and Portugal time). That translates to a start time of 3:00pm New York Time -- and also CBS includes a live pre-match show at 2:00pm New York Time.
  3. Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
  4. Jason47's episode summaries clarify everything. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1990-1999-t14806-s150.html The construction company is "AJ Construction" (AJ = Adrienne+Justin). Jencon Oil was building an oil refinery at the construction site. This was adjacent to the park. Kirk Geiger played the character Chad Webster. The character Chad was an actor in the movie being made. The child friend with Shawn-Douglas is his cousin Andrew Donovan. A few episodes prior, Andrew and Shawn-Douglas were at the park playing hide-and-seek. They wandered off where they shouldn't have gone, by slipping through the gate onto the construction site. Shawn-D fell into the hole at the oil refinery. There were several episodes of trying to rescue Shawn-D. Finally Carly rescued Shawn-D, but he was discovered to be deaf. Andrew felt bad, but Bo and Shane both understood that it was an accident. Carly later taught Shawn-D sign language. Shawn-D was played by Scott Groff. Andrew was played by Bradley Michael Pierce. pics here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070404163013/http://www.childrenofsalem.com/days/kids/shawnandrew/shawnandrew.html Larger context here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.htmlhttps://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.html

We’re on a timeout today and tomorrow for UEFA ⚽️, so all the more time to watch/rewatch these past three scorching episodes🔥🔥🔥. What were some of your favorite moments? @beyondthegatescbs 📺📺🫧🫧🫧
  8. Once the preemptions were announced, BTG cleverly marketed the episodes of Thursday May 1, Friday May 2, and Monday May 5 as a special must-see "3-episode arc".
  9. That happens sometimes on cbs/paramount. Just refresh the page and it should work.
  10. April 28: Leslie tells Eva "I know all about the Articulettes. Honey, please. I lost my virginity with Anita playing in the background, baby." Who knows what she meant by that. I had assumed that it meant that the music was playing on a device in the background, and not live, but who knows. Leslie has spun so many tales.
  11. Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England. Victoria was shocked. Then she realized he was kidding. He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
  12. MVJ was used to these soccer disruptions from when she wrote for B&B. However, in 2022, 2023, and 2024, the soccer disruptions happened for the "Round of Sixteen" over a couple of weeks in February, and the quarterfinals in March, and then the semifinals in April -- many dates. All on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Many soap episodes were affected in Feb, March, and April. The Talk was completely preempted on the affected dates. B&B and Y&R were disrupted in western timezones. But for 2025, it was structured differently. There was a new round that took place before the "Round of Sixteen". That changed the schedule. CBS broadcast TV didn't air the new round. Nor did they air the Round of Sixteen. Nor did they air the quarterfinals. In fact, all the *early* announcements and press releases said *ONLY* ParamountPlus for everything. And indeed there were no broadcast disruptions in February or March. And no broadcast disruptions for the quarterfinals in the first half of April. At some point during the process, CBS decided that the *semifinals* (end of April and start of May) would be on broadcast TV, but that wasn't announced in the initial press release early in the year. No idea when this was decided. So these semifinals were same as 2022, 2023, and 2024: disruptions for B&B and Y&R in western timezones. BeyondTheGates is in TheTalk's old timeslot, thus fully preempted. I know nothing of BTG/BeyondTheGates behind-the-scenes. I have no idea what CBS Sports communicated to the soaps. No idea what was said or when about the semifinals. But during the BTG April 11th episode, Leslie was holding up an invitation to the anniversary party, and the invitation said April 29th, 2025. So that leads me to **SPECULATE** that at least back in January when the April 11th BTG episode was filmed, the BTG show hadn't originally expected an April 29 preemption for soccer? screengrab from final 2 minutes of April 11th: https://i.imgur.com/9ZQkLEG.png
  13. As was stated: Due to this being a live broadcast of soccer from Europe, Y&R and B&B were disrupted in western timezones. Here is more specific information: In most of Mountain Daylight Time: Y&R aired in full before the soccer prematch show, B&B was preempted. In Arizona Standard Time, and in Pacific Daylight, it varied a lot. Quite a few channels had alternate broadcast times for either/both soaps, and/or there were airings on sister channels. In a few locations, neither B&B nor Y&R aired. In Alaska Daylight Time, there was no local broadcast of either soap (although some viewers may have caught soaps on an Eastern USA satellite feed). In Hawaii Standard Time, both soaps aired at normal times after soccer. ** Disclaimer that this info is based on analysis of each station's TV listings in these timezones, but the listings might have been incorrect, or changed. Or I could have easily made an error.
  14. Max Brady is still in a relationship or marriage with his niece Chelsea Brady. They live in London. This was confirmed by Chelsea at Victor's funeral. I think she was pregnant then? They now have a son named Isaac.
  15. Thanks for posting that. I didn't know about "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison. I knew only "The Invisible Man" by H.G. Wells. I just spent some time learning about Ellison's novel. Now I have a lot of work to do, to learn more, to read more.
  16. If the show ever chooses to show any flashbacks of major Ted scenes, the Ted/Eva, Ted/Kat, and Ted/Nicole scenes would need to be re-filmed with nuTed. Since there have been hardly any Ted/Martin scenes with the CurrentTed, they have avoided the difficulty of doing recreated flashbacks with nuTed for scenes with Martin. The only one would be Martin punching Ted after the anniversary reveal (unless there's something in the next few episodes). I agree with other posters that the fact that we barely saw CurrentTed and Martin interact, makes it less impactful to viewers to see Martin's outrage at the reveal.
  17. another promo for week of May 5-9. Confirms that it's Ted's door that Eva goes to. KNhcTaFexVTYb4He.mp4
  18. Spoiler pics from Washington Post February 2025, for scenes airing in May https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68541-btg-spring-2025-spoiler-pics-from-washpost-etc
  19. I liked the effect of the curtains closing. Yeah it was like the end of Act I. Or maybe they are simply trying to emphasize the drama of the end of an episode -- instead of a random abrupt end that has happened in some prior episodes.
