Days: June 2023 Discussion Thread
I like how angsty everything was for Brady/Chloe/Xander/Sarah/Rex. They really should have played it as one big story involving all of them, instead of them all being in individual story bubbles until this point. And after today, Iโm pretty convinced that thereโs like a civil war in the writers room over Maggie ๐๐ Some want her as the villain, some want Alex as the villain. But either way, Iโm still Team Maggie ๐ Do we know who made the decision yet?

Days: June 2023 Discussion Thread
Iโm glad that the Horton dining room set is being used more. It should be a backdrop for scenes like Chad and Stephanieโs, were storylines could progress naturally. But I do think Stephanie kind of overdid it on the eye makeup ๐๐ I donโt really know what to make of Maggie and Alexโs scenes today, but I enjoyed them. There seems to be a kind of split with Alex, like half of the writing team wants to prop him and ruin countless characters to do it, while the other half wants to write him as the villain/grey character that he is. Am I wrong or has anybody else seen that too? Btw, the pizza that Steve and Kayla had today looked delicious. A lot of the food on Days has looked delicious lately ๐๐๐ And, agreed with Kayla that cold pizza is a great breakfast ๐

I see that B&B has become the Hallmark movie that GH was for a little while.

Iโm still wondering who was the bonehead who thought that setting up so much of the Texas storylines on AW was a good idea. Was it Paul Rauch? Or somebody above him?

I guess heโs your favorite now ๐ But at least we know who would be playing Will in a Days porn parody ๐๐๐

So, it appears that fans of AW were not fans of the Texas crew ๐

I see theyโre trying very hard to make us like Leo. They really arenโt going to let this character go no matter what. I can see why Gwen is so enamored with Dimitri though. He is quite the charmer. And he looked good today too ๐๐๐ Peter Porte does seem to have good chemistry with his scene partners and thatโs one of the things thatโs making this storyline interesting. The Julie/Eli/Gabi/Stefan fight was unnecessary. I thought we were passed all that crap. I canโt believe they rushed through so much storyline just to have Gabi/Stefan do absolutely nothing.

Did they really try to compare Ridge and Brookeโs relationship to the Colosseum? ๐๐๐

General Hospital: June 2023 Discussion Thread
This Ned thinking heโs Eddie Maine stuff feels like a Ron Carlivati story. Austin and his pain in the ass cousin just need to go away. They have no purpose and this storyline isnโt going to give them one. I do like how messy this Portia/Curtis/Jordan/Zeke storyline is getting though.

Looking forward to see how AW fared in July, with that being the last month of 90 minute episodes and the beginning of all the Texas storylines.

Days: June 2023 Discussion Thread
Today had some really good family scenes. It was nice to see those bonds between everyone. It almost felt like classic soap. Salem actually felt like a community again. But at the same time, I feel like this crap with the crazy nurse diminishes it all somehow. Even if it was taken seriously and not written like some cringey, campy joke, I would still feel this way. Btw, is Bill Hayes now the oldest actor to ever work on a soap?

Interesting how Nina Laemmle was always blamed for the massacre. When we were discussing late 70s-early 80s Days a while back in the classic Days thread, it got pretty clear that all the firings and all the changes were spearheaded by Al Rabin. They started as soon as he got there. Luckily, he was able to turn the show around after all this. And was able to last through most of the 80s.
