  1. I draw the line specifically the week of June 20, 1994 - golden age legacy characters April and Heather depart, and JM’s Nick (blech) debuts
  2. I had to take a peek at this infamous scene... and yep, it was perfectly clear to Malcolm that Dru was not in her right mind and that she did not realize it was Malcolm sitting on the bed 😕
  3. I love everything about these sentences
  4. Omg @will81 I am LIVING for your blog and eating it up! Thank you so much! I’ve read through 1982 so far… Seems like a rough transition year for the soap opera world… Texas and the Doctors cancelled… Search for Tomorrow on life support (surprised it lasted til ’86)… Guiding Light firing Doug Marland (why…?) and then firing replacement Pat Falken Smith two months later!! The columnists were not too pleased with YR, said it was in an “awkward phase” due to storytelling shifts. They were displeased with the firing of the Lawrence family - said that as soon as the viewer starts to have affection for a character, they might disappear. They felt that Robert and Leslie were a “magic couple”. They also felt that the Stevens family was written off before they’d had a proper chance, and they lament the lack of a blue-collar working-class family in Genoa City. Other YR items of note: They described Mamie/Marguerite Johnson as “recently hired” so that’s another fact confirming she did indeed debut in ’82, not ’80 as some sources say Brian Kerwin (Greg #2) was interviewed. It was said he was on the show for only “40 days”. He mostly worked with Juliana McCarthy and loved her. He kept in touch after with David Hasselfhoff. He started to be friendly with Beau K but then Beau ghosted him. Deborah Adair volunteered at the rape crisis center at Cedars Sinai hospital in LA… love that… Beth Maitland was a casting director before being cast as Traci. Upon her debut, she wore padding to appear heavier as Traci Thank you for preserving those treasures @ChickenNuggetz92 !
  5. Yassss the OG Gloria! Thank you Nikki and Vizion
  6. Wow! Your blog is a treasure trove! Your efforts are greatly appreciated by all the vintage YR fans here
  7. Ah, I didn't know that! I know Bell commented that the story "went on too long", but I assumed he meant it went on too long overall and that he always planned for the Adrian story. To me, the story is fairly boring in the first part over summer '89, and only really gets interesting once Adrian arrives. Then we get Bermuda, and Cassandra's arrest, and the thrilling last portion leading to up to the "melting-ice-gun" climax!
  8. Nice interview with Barbara Crampton. She looks great! Glad to see she is back working on film horror projects https://www.cbr.com/interview-sacrifice-barbara-crampton-cults-lovecraftian-nostalgia/ However, I get a little annoyed in interviews like this is that neither she nor the interviewer make any mention of her noteworthy 10-year soap career. In fact in this interview she is called an “80/90s pop culture icon” so wouldn’t being a well-known soap opera star be part of that...?
  9. Wow! Just skimmed through... one of Cassandra's first appearances! And looks like Amys exit 😭 Thanks for these treasures, BoldRestless and Angel!
  10. Great job, thank you! Reading this dialogue reminds me why classic YR really stands the test of time - the writing was so exquisite
  11. yep, Nina Arvesen wanted to quit, it was the end of her 3-year contract. I always wonder if there was something going on BTS that made her leave... as Cassandra was set up for a major story. Within a year, Nina was back on another soap, Santa Barbara, which wasn't doing well at all in the ratings and was soon canceled. So something doesn't add up...
  12. The brunette is Brittany, George's niece. She came to Genoa City as an IRS auditor reviewing Jabot's files, and had interactions with Jack in the beginning. That ended after a few months and Brittany was solely featured in the Paul story. She fell in love with Paul and always supported him throughout the saga. Don't remember how she was involved with finding Cassandra's lover who was Adrian Hunter. Around the end of the storyline, the actress was taken off contract. She made a few more appearances to support Cassandra after the ordeal, and after that I think she disappeared without a goodbye (as happens quite often on this show) Amazing, these are real treasures! Thanks as always, Bundy1965 and BoldRestless Troubleshooting tip for those on a Mac: I downloaded these clips, which are .avi files but they wouldn't play on Quicktime Player, or in a Safari browser. They would play in a Chrome browser but freeze up every 15 seconds. I had success using a Firefox browser, they played no problem.
  13. I see that Tiny makes his debut on 1/24/88. He is credited as played by Joe Petrachek. Does anyone know if it’s the same actor playing Tiny when he returns in ‘89 and ‘90? When I google “Joe Petrachek” “The Young and the Restless”, literally nothing comes up. And googling “Tiny” “The Young and the Restless” doesn’t yield much either Get out of here!! The goodness never stops!
  14. Yes, you can view it in the Vault here: https://bit.ly/3kMIjRN Go into the Bold and Beautiful vault, Full Episodes, 1993. in this folder, look for the ep titled "1993-11-03 #1662". This is the first episode available with Scott. After you watch it, click into the folder for November, which has many more episodes with Scott and Catalina, starting with November 8. Enjoy!
  15. @BoldRestless - Thank you so much for your continued efforts to upload the German eps to Youtube! The majority of the eps, I can just scroll through and get the gist of what is happening. But there are some where I want to know more about what is said. Example: 2/2/87 – as I was scrolling through the scenes with Cricket and Nina, I wondered if Nina referenced what happened with Rose and her stolen baby. Watching through the scenes with the Youtube English subtitles gave me a better feel for what those scenes are about. (though I still don’t get who that lady is at 2/2/87 37:00… Danny says something in the subtitles about “Berlin”… that’s not the singer Terri Nunn of Berlin, is it…?) Super-excited for you to upload 12/29/87 to YT, as I want to understand more why Ashley changes her mind to marry Steven… even though she feels the “magic” with Victor, not Steven… and also 1/5/88, where she sees Victor one episode before marrying Steven!! What does she say to Victor…??
  16. @will81 - if you don't have already have this noted... I am scrolling through the final batch of German eps, and came across the English version of 12/24/87... with the heartwarming scenes of Nathan playing Santa for the shelter children (I may have shed a tear or two...) Anyway - was quite surprised to see Leo/Peter Parros volunteering along with Amy and Nathan at the shelter! I had assumed we had already seen the last of him.
  17. Looks like the final German ep might be 2/9/88...? A final THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Bundy1965!!
  18. Fantastic charts, thank you! FYI for May, Betsy is played by Conci Nelson (future Heather Stevens of 1994) and Mandy is played by future OLTL/GH star Tonja Walker
  19. I think we see Leo/Peter Parros again on 9/2/87, at 10:08, serving a drink to Phillip..? Check it out and see if you agree... it's literally for 2 seconds and you can't see his face straight on, so I'm not sure.
  20. The German eps are continuing into 1988!! 🤸‍♂️ Thank you so much Bundy1965
  21. @will81 fyi - Leo/Peter Parros' blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance I mentioned is in German ep 8/10/87
  22. FYI re: the exact airdates of the German '87 eps... I noticed for the ep "Nikki sees Victor and Ashley", the English version in the Vault was dated 5/28... but the German version is dated 5/27. I don't know which date is correct...? But when we reach June 16, when Phillip is arrested for drunk driving, the English version in the Vault and the German version are both dated June 16 so we're back in sync date-wise by this point.
  23. Thanks!! Haha had to laugh at you repeatedly refreshing the archive page... that's what I do every day with the Vault! 😆
  24. Confirmed that Nathan was on the Dec '86 New Year Eve's ep (don't know exact date) - he can be seen in clip 124 in the Vault during Gina's NYE party. In the SOD recap, his absence from Jan-Apr '87 is explained... Amy is sad because she hasn't heard from Nathan, only to find out that had gone off the grid to study for his diploma (which is a nice idea in theory to surprise her, but probably better if he had just told her what was going on...)
