I looked through the full cast list from my YR 25th Anniversary book published in 1998. Turns out it is NOT a full cast list, because I was hoping to find out who played Charlie, Victor's butler, but he's not listed anywhere. The cast list is fairly thorough but has many chronological mistakes. One example is listing Lynn Wood (Allison) as appearing from 1981-83 when it was 1982-84. What caught my eye the most is that it lists Oscar winner Forest Whitaker as being the first Kong (aka Nathan Hastings) in 1984 before Nathan Purdee. I think this would be late '84... Nov/Dec... Wouldn't that be something if we get a glimpse of Forest as the uploaded '84 clips reach that time!

It was definitely bullying. Here's a recap of that scene from 5/30/13. I saw it when it aired... very touching. https://www.soapcentral.com/yr/recaps/2013/130527.php Traci arrived outside Phyllis' penthouse, and she ran into Lauren. Lauren said that she'd been thinking about how she'd bullied Traci in their younger days. Traci called it ancient history, but Lauren pointed out that they'd never cleared it up. Lauren confessed that she'd treated Traci horribly, but she had seen the other side of bullying, and she didn't know if the hurt ever went away. Traci initially said that she had no residual side effects, but then she recalled that she'd recently been at a restaurant, thinking about ordering dessert, and out of nowhere, Lauren's cruel words had flooded into her head. Lauren hated the things she'd said, but Traci asserted that she was no longer the insecure girl who'd turned to pills, and she'd moved on. Lauren mused that she'd never forgotten, and Traci agreed, but she was glad the subject of bullying was getting attention. Lauren apologized, but she knew that it couldn't make up for the pain she'd caused. Traci said that they couldn't change the past, but it was never too late to become a better person. The women hugged, and Lauren received a text message from Fen, asking her to meet him at Crimson Lights.

Clips 48a/48b were uploaded last night. Fyi the full episode titled “Victor, Paul and Andy rescue Nikki from Rick Daros” is available for viewing at the Museum of TV/Paley in NYC, and I watched it there a few years ago. Much of the episode is not included in these clips… here’s my recollection: The ep begins with Traci having a flashback of a conversation she had with Jack. Jack confesses that he had Tim Sullivan investigated, and discovered that Tim’s ex-protegee had accused him of sexual harassment. Traci then meets up with Amy at the college café and explains the situation. Traci fully believes in Tim’s innocence but wants to find this woman to ask her why she would make such an unfounded accusation. Amy is concerned and offers to go along with Traci, but Traci says no. There’s a couple of scenes of Traci going around town trying to find this lady. Once she finds her, this scene is included in 48a, and we see that her story shakes Traci’s confidence in Tim. Meanwhile, Amy meets up with Jazz for a date. Amy isn’t interested romantically in Jazz – she’s just being friendly and polite. Jazz is very nervous and is trying to seem more educated/sophisticated. Amy tells him to just relax and be himself. Jazz drops Amy off at home. Jazz starts to leave but runs smack into Amy’s dad Frank, who gives Jazz a stern warning about getting involved with Amy.

Thank you @Broderick this perfectly sums up the difference between the two Jills. When Madame Mergeron made her entrance to the Abbott home, DA's Jill truly made me believe that Jill was terrified for John's health... don't think BD could have pulled that off. On the flip side, I don't think DA could have rocked a turban in 1987 half as well as BD! Ha, fantastic comparison! Newhart debuted in fall 82 but I don't think Julia Duffy and Peter Scolari were paired up until the 2nd season? So Nikki and Kevin definitely paved the way first.

Here's the scene from Sept or Oct 83 with Jill and Liz at the Foster home, at 44:00 https://youtu.be/SmSVKiPr6kQ You're right, Liz did live with Kay in '84, in fact during this scene I think Jill is convincing Liz to be Katherine's maid so Liz can spy on her. Not positive if we see the Foster house in early '85 but in the 1/29/85 SOD recap, it says "Since she can't get the money from Jack, Jill tries her mother. But Liz refuses to mortgage her home"

Nice summary! I’ll add that BB loved his summer “social issue” stories. Here’s the ones I can recall: 1979: White slavery w/Chris Brooks Foster and Rose Deville 1980: Cult w/Nikki and Paul 1981-5: none…? 1986: teenage pregnancy w/Nina and Molly 1987: teenage alcoholism w/Phillip III 1988: can’t think of a “summer story” but Jessica’s HIV disclosure climaxed in summer and Danny had his “Save the Earth” concert 1989: Cricket’s rape 1990: Dru’s illiteracy 1991: crack baby 1992: Michael’s sexual harassment of Cricket, I guess? That wasn’t limited to summer. 1993: senior citizens 1994: Cricket bringing Keemo from Vietnam was kind of a social story… earlier in the year – spousal abuse w/April Starting w/1995, my memory gets fuzzy – what am I missing?

Now that the classics are over 😭 what were your favorite episodes? #1 for me of course is 11/3/81, with the classic line: “Time’s running out, Lorie… for both of us!!” The July ’90 ep with Nikki's striptease, Mamie visiting Dru in jail, Lauren running around in that ridiculous princess dress, and Sheila making her first moves on Scott was also excellent. And the ’94 Christine bachelorette party was such a blast, having all the ladies together. I was also surprised to find the 2006 eps to be not awful. Seems that Kay Alden was still a co-head-writer in 2006 along with Lynn Latham, so Kay must have kept Lynn from going off the rails. It was only after Kay departed at the end of ’06, leaving Lynn alone to run things, that the writing quality took a serious turn for the worse. 2007: Pheila… Dru dies… need I say more?

The segment in 17b/18a at the Bayou was bizarre and not in a good way... Nikki is so delusional she thinks the patrons want her up on the stage... and when she gets on the stage, they give her the silent treatment because they think she's fat... and then Victor announces she's not fat but pregnant, and then gets a standing applause... just weird... Nikki almost seems to be suffering from a mental illness at this point.

I'm really enjoying seeing glimpses of Charlie the Butler at the Newman Ranch. He had been mentioned so much but not seen that I wondered if he was an actual character. I wish the show had let us get to know him better, as they eventually did with Esther. Does anyone know the Charlie actor's name?
