  1. Frank tried to get her to hang around on recurring during the 50th anniversary year (2013) along with the rest of the recurring vets they'd brought back. (I think he tried to do the same with Stephen Nichols, who was vocal about their lame offer in vague yet specific terms a few years later.) Genie refused and dipped in the fall with very little fanfare. She refused to return again after that without a contract, and they tried to cut her to recurring twice since then. Each time she has gotten the contract.
  2. I think Genie has just been on Frank's wrong side more than once and gotten away with getting her way because of her stature.
  3. Just had to say that Clem Moultrie is one fine dude. What a shame if they never utilized him properly, even for those times.
  4. It would not shock me, but I do believe that they invested in the search for Lulu (and got a top soap performer in doing so) and that either the network or FV was determined to get Jonathan back for some time. They certainly aren't using either Lucky or Laura to the fullest atm, but it's always hard these days to tell whether that's FV disinterest or just the inevitable consequences of his endless taping shuffle grind.
  5. Sidelining Genie this year has seemed very deliberate, and I don't think it is a question of any one writing team at this point.
  6. There's no excuse for not reuniting Lulu with her family during the Thanksgiving week, lol. I'll hold out hope that they will pull it out.
  7. I don't want to derail the thread, but in case anyone else was curious about this it's apparently this. Maybe we can set something up for it in the Foreign section when it gets closer if it looks half-decent (I am curious about the musical elements, which remind me of Jacques Rivette's musical Up Down Fragile).
  8. Kristian appears to be pointedly dissing elements of her last return here, which is interesting given rumors at the time:
  9. Thanks. I don't necessarily need the earliest appearance, I'd just like to see more of the overall picture. I've only seen a couple eps of her here and there. I'll poke around.
  10. Where is a good place to start with the Carrie Todd story, timewise?
  11. Tika Sumpter (OLTL) along with Shemar Moore and Sofia Pernas (Y&R) are inexplicably all in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, a franchise I have no part in. Tika has been in all of them in a lead (non-hedgehog) role. and hey, good for her.
  12. If anyone is going to finally bring up Kristina playing in her sister's face and calling that dead kid the wrong name for months, it will be Ric.
  13. Did they not have clearance to use AMC? Seems a rather large oversight when going over her soap roles.
  14. Are they going to suggest Cody doesn't know what Lulu looks like? Dante is his closest friend of many years, I find it hard to believe he has not seen many pictures of her (and apparently has also been at her bedside).
  15. I think they'd have to be real stupid to shutter Pluto. I don't see that happening right away. I am very curious about this musical soap opera for Netflix lol.
  16. This show will pair up anyone (preferably on recurring) to avoid hiring new people they don't want, while keeping played-out characters or hiring randos from any other soap. Then GH pleads poverty and we're expected to get behind any half-ass budget pairing. It's a vicious cycle.
  17. Oh, I definitely think that triangle was the model for this story under Mulcahey, except I think here the endgame was Drew and Nina which I was very into. And I think it suited Cameron and Watros well. But now given the messy hash they've made of it since the changeover I'd just do Who Killed Drew. I have always just found Sasha insanely boring, but that's me.
  18. No one wants it. I also think that's the smart play, though I think it's too late for the Blake/Ross/Holly (probably inverted) triangle Mulcahey was going to do. I think Who Killed Drew needs to end in Willow doing it (and probably framing Nina). I see no reason to keep Sasha, Willow or their kids around. The Sasha Scorpio story has been insanely unpopular and she is a deeply boring character.
  19. I don't. I'm tired of randos being slapped together for budget.
  20. No. This is classic cheapo FV thinking. Put any two cheap non-contract players over 30 together. It's what put Kevin and Laura together, because JL was a vet and off-contract. It's what put Robert and Diane together. Lucy and Martin. Scott and Obrecht. Many others. Rena Sofer is a brilliant actress who they were insanely lucky to get back who deserves a contract and an actual storyline. Not GH's constant Wal-Mart method of storytelling: Slap any two randos together and call them a couple or a storyline. INVEST.
  21. I do think he loved Witter's Tina, but I think without her or Cain he had no real interest.
  22. Of course, why recast a vital younger character who is central to a core family when you can hold the role for somnambulant Chad when he's ready to return for a buck fifty? Idiotic.
  23. I'd be all for Jax and Lois at this point too. I don't think it's that weird after so long, and he did come on the show with an eye for her. But without Ingo, again I don't necessarily see a point in having him here. Having a strong and interesting love interest for Rena is the only compelling reason I can think of to have a recast Jax, actually lol
  24. Well, Valentini and the network had to be bullied to keep her on contract, twice. But I am glad she is here.
