  1. So are many of the others recently cited. I'm calling it an outlier because every reputable pollster and credible poll analyst (including people like Jain and Nate Cohn, and Times analysts themselves) are calling it an outlier. That doesn't mean it's a crank poll, but it is outside the norm of most other state polling out there and most reputable folks are baffled by those results. So as it is, it's not worth me dooming about. Meanwhile:
  2. Semafor in rare form:
  3. A tale of two cities: Virtually ever pollster and pundit is regarding the NYT numbers for AZ/GA/NC as a strange outlier vs. all other recent polling, so I am not particularly pressed about it at present. Just means everyone needs to stay vigilant.
  4. Mostly to him these days.
  5. Janet Jackson's widely mocked stupid opinions are not going to open up a major new vulnerability for Kamala Harris. I love Janet's music but online she is getting universally dragged outside the right wing for this and new polling has shown Trump has not been able to substantially capture the Black vote (as white pundits kept mythologizing), let's keep things in perspective.
  6. I always blamed FV's seeming disinterest in Lucky, Brenda, etc. in wanting to keep control of a show where popular longtime stars that pre-dated him would upset his balance of personal favorites and mediocre longtimers. (I still think that's a factor, and I def think it's personal with VM.) But the story that's circulated recently alleges that FV supposedly held out for both Jonathan and JMB for Lucky and Lulu for a very long time instead of recasting, and I've heard it enough now that I tend to believe it's true. That being said I wouldn't be shocked if he turned out to be the dog that caught the car with JJ - as in, waiting for Jonathan was a convenient excuse for years until the ratings plummeted and someone had to take pushing for it seriously.
  7. She's awful. Not that Jordan has ever had a purpose on the show. The character is like so many others: Long since expired but kept running as part of a zombie ensemble.
  8. I am endlessly amused Nic Robuck evidently turned out to be Kristen's gay best friend IRL.
  9. Grain of salt given the source, but woof:
  10. Reilly didn't try that hard to make PSSNS serious in the beginning. It was written for nursery school children and there was a Vengaboys dance number with Timmy and Tabitha somewhere in the first few months/year that has remained burned in my mind.
  11. To each their own. I wanted to burn Diana at the stake.
  12. If it was up to me, several lol. Georgie and Aiden would get wound back to at least 10-12 as well. But we'd also never see Charlotte again, she'd be de-Spencered. Away, hellspawn!
  13. Rocco is officially too old lol. This is the ongoing problem with too many kids born to too many younger characters, and too much of a SORAS traffic jam on this show that's been going on for years. This gangly teen (who is okay but not amazing) looks like he's old enough to be vaping between takes. Have Lulu wake up and see an 8-10 year old Rocco before her eyes instead. That's it!
  14. Many women journalists are noting how it's mostly the men caping for young, hot Nuzzi.
  15. Pretty sure Wheeler and Kreizman undid the Sandy thing when they came aboard. It always felt slapped together by Conboy's team to me, cobbled from spare parts and I never once bought him as Jonathan, so I wasn't at all surprised. It basically was and they did con Conboy (haha) and/or CBS into thinking they were much bigger than they were, IIRC. I had no idea Bradley Cole was on some French soap? Yikes.
  16. Yeah, Janet's foolish misinformation is not going to move votes. And recent reports and polling indicate Trump's supposed mythical Black support is not there much after all. Meanwhile:
  17. Good Lord, this is Fyvush Finkel maybe a year or two out from Picket Fences at the NYC diner with Tina and Cord. You can tell they were treading water for material in July '91 when half an episode is devoted to Karen Witter's bob makeover (masterminded by Penn Jillette!) and has a ton of narrative ellipses dissolve transitions. Kevin is awfully sprung for Stephanie who according to Twitter only first appeared almost exactly two months ago. And Robyn Griggs maybe a month before this. I wonder when they cut her - possibly in the fall, then she came back as part of the Carlo murder story? Ending an episode on Robyn Griggs singing "Words Get in the Way": Also a choice.
  18. I'm just gonna let Janet walk that one back.
  19. Agreed. It's going to be exhilarating stuff to see the transformation. An insane moment of synergy: In the July 16 episode I am positive that is Grace Phillips in a deodorant ad around 23:40, a few months before she becomes Sarah Gordon. Wild also that they appeared to turn the original (Buchanan) Palace Hotel into the Buchanan mansion later on, unless I am very wrong.
