  1. Feckless media cheerleader Stelter RTing this is also a big deal.
  2. In other news, Silver has basically admitted his latest nonsense predictions are due to him unskewing all the polls by reducing all Dem polling by 2-5 points because of the lack of a convention bounce (which, again, was already baked in) and his assumption that Dems will trend downward towards November, which hasn't happened in awhile. He also admitted to adding Trafalgar and Rasmussen, both of which are laughing stocks. He's become what he used to mock. Meanwhile:
  3. This all is finally getting real traction in the last few days, particularly since Mike Barnicle blasted the media practice of auto-sanitizing and editing Trump's words on Morning Joe.
  4. TW: Brian Stelter.
  5. Oh, "Man of the Hour" gets painful in that very arch sequence where the theatrical bereaved mother shows up and repeats the title over and over lol. But I have become very fond of Steve Shaw. I wish they'd done more with him and Michael, though I believe they do get some story and he's still going strong in Season 7.
  6. I think the debate will be important for many reasons, and I'm not happy Harris' team relented to muting the mics because Trump's team is terrified of him getting owned by her a la Kavanaugh or Pence which is a moment the Harris campaign was definitely aiming for, and threatened to cancel if they weren't muted (over Trump's objections). If the mics are open during cross-talk (which Harris' team claims and ABC is denying, but I bet they are) that's good. I am excited for the debate but I think Kamala needs to bloody his nose. It's time to move to the next step and start breaking away even more. At the same time, this article is good because the Harris team is almost certainly doing a headfake on some of this - trying to lower expectations and keep her the underdog to surprise people. That is how the game is played. The enthusiasm polling is all over the place today so I don't really buy the Luntz, etc. narrative that Dem enthusiasm has gone anywhere. Most of that polling I've seen today still has Dems way up. Guys like Luntz and Silver are looking for an exit ramp from the last month-plus.
  7. I have no doubt Frank would cast Bree again if he thought he could get away with it.
  8. No, naive was believing the show when they said William Lipton and Sydney Mikayla were staying after booking other opportunities/committing to school because GH said so and you wanted the actors to stay. Whenever people pointed out career realities and past precedent you got very mad that anyone would suggest it wasn't going to last. Nobody is saying Landon doesn't want to work or even necessarily that she doesn't need to. But she is not a starving artist.
  9. John, I want Jen Landon on the show. That doesn't mean I think it makes sense for her career to do it. Maybe she wants to settle down with whatever family she has and have some security, fine. But you constantly go off on these crusading tangents about something the show does to defend it or push a performer you like that others don't, or some idea you get excited about on Twitter, you make up ideas like 'maybe she's out of money' and you don't actually listen to anyone. We don't have to agree with you to be fans of the show. Take a breath.
  10. Nate's latest 'model' has been roundly mocked by serious pollsters and analysts. He is clearly doing Thiel's work, and has also become more and more of a GOP sympathizer particularly since COVID. He's turned into the high-end Trafalgar/Rasmussen.
  11. If this was Joe it would be a 7 day story with 10 op-eds.
  12. John, we are just saying it doesn't necessarily make career sense for an actress (and yes, BetterForgotten is right about the Landons) who has built a very respectable career in recent years moving beyond daytime. It doesn't make us 'bad soap fans' for acknowledging the obvious.
  13. Yellowstone is probably getting a sixth season. And not much has changed about actors wanting to get out of soap operas. You know that.
  14. Because they understand career trajectories, John. Landon was just a castmember on the biggest show on streaming and her CV has become impressive in recent years. It behooves her to continue competing in that sphere. For the same reason NAC is not coming back to GH next year unless he runs over Ryan Murphy's dog or something. She may just want to work or have other considerations and I would love to see her in the role, but it doesn't make sense for me.
  15. Oy vey, not Brooke Langton. But I do like the other two. McNamara was so creepy in Copycat.
  16. For both threads, just media confirming the above on their own:
  17. For both threads:
  18. I am not calling him "Cates" and "John" like he was some serious upgraded character lol. He was just a random blond guy pretending to be Jagger who looked like he was on a break from Hallmark movies. Where he'll probably go next and make more money anyway. PM gave him some good speeches but I never saw anything long-term there. He was just a tool.
  19. Unwittingly my ass.
