Bill Cosby
When The Cosby Show was first sold into syndication, it was the most lucrative deal of all time (it's since been eclipsed by Seinfeld), so while it may not be loads of money, it may be more than what actors from other shows get in terms of residuals.

Janet Jackson Appreciation Thread
That's The Way Love Goes was a great instinct on her part though, and totally unexpected at the time. It did end up becoming her biggest hit after all. After Herb Ritts forced her to explore a fun sexy side in the Love Will Never Do video and it attracted a different type of attention to her work, I can see why she wanted the lead single from the followup album at the time to be more sensual and an opportunity to show off a more sexual image. She needed something more lowkey to help do that, and If wouldn't have provided the same punch if she did it with an uptempo dance track. I've also always found Control and janet. to be better albums than Rhythm Nation (which had some great singles, but the other two have aged better IMO).

Janet Jackson Appreciation Thread
The song itself still puts me to sleep. Also, what has she done to her face in recent years? Granted she's a Jackson so bad surgery is par the course, but something seems to have been altered in the last year or two. I hope the album isn't indicative of this single, and Jam and Lewis have found their grove with her again. Their chemistry with her ended as far back as 1993 as far as I'm concerned and Janet just hasn't found the right folks to work with.

I have no other way to justify her actions than to call her a stupid bitch. I do think it's partly denial, but I also think she's bought into Bill's rhetoric over the years about them being the ideal African American couple and being a pillar of the community a little too much and she's probably brainwashed into loving the thought of being with him rather than the person he's shown himself to be over the years. This man has had countless affairs and has admitted to a few of them, yet Camille never wavers in her support and dedication to him. Something is clearly not right there.

The Cameron siblings are the worst. I hope that Full House reboot flops hard on this b!tch so so can be even more irrelevant than she already is.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
It's hard for me to pinpoint exactly where they went wrong with Rita, but I think it was a slow build up over the years and things just got worse when she became Tina's biggest defender. I do love what the character was though.- Bill Cosby

I also don't get how Dot and Jim have become romanticized over the years. Dot didn't marry Jim because she was in love with him, she married him because she was lonely and needed a companion. Dot has also never really fit in with the Branning's outside of Jim, Sonia, and I guess Bradley- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Dot Branning celebrates 30 years in EastEnders: the best moments featuring the two most important characters in her life I personally think Ethel was way more important to Dot than Jim ever was, but whatever....- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I wish Michelle's exit was up, I've only ever saw it once. Surprisingly, she didn't get a Julia's Theme (nor did Sharon a few months prior). In those days, they used it very sparingly. The last scene is the only thing that's up at this point:- Degrassi: The Next Generation
It's nice to know the special will focus on the show as a whole as opposed to the more recent years. The all really did grow up nicely. When I watched the first few seasons, I never thought Miriam McDonald, for example, would ever turn into something passable or pretty. I was surprised when she suddenly blossomed somewhere in season 5, the same is true for most of them.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread

I don't think this is the right choice for a comeback single, but it's not that bad and maybe she doesn't care. She's almost 50, so it's not likely she'll have a mainstream hit at this point. I was hoping for a faster dance track to remind us of what she used to do best. The boring ballads of her later years helped lead to her commercial downfall, IMO. The ballads on All For You, Damita, Jo, and 20YO were tortuous. I really hope this new album and tour is a return to form for her, I think this is her last chance for a real comeback.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
They were great together this last time around, especially since French and Brooks never worked together in the past - they just clicked and the characters are very much two lost souls with a lot in common. Not now, but maybe in a few years, Janine needs to have a return similar to the one Sharon had in 2001 where she's revealed as the new owner of the Vic and evicts the Cartner's. Maybe she can return with a husband and a son, and of course an older Scarlett. I keep debating if I want Scarlett to be the total opposite of Janine and more of a heroine, or a rotten kid who is always causing trouble for Janine (sort of like payback for Janine for her own misdeeds). I really think Janine's extension is the future of the show. This is one if they have the writing behind them though...- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Carol's past exits weren't particular happy exits, and I wouldn't be surprised if this one was the same. Or maybe they just won't care and will give her something rushed this time. I doubt we'll ever see her again to be honest. I think it was Patsy Palmer (who I hope never returns as Bianca was a disaster by the end and Patsy was never committed to the show at all) who helped convince her to come back this time around, and unless she really needs the money sometime in the future, I think this is it for Carol in Walford.- What Are You Listening To?

I'm glad she came back for as long as she did since she was adamant about never returning to the show when she left the last time in 1999. The fact she stayed on this long was a treat. - The View
