  1. John Yorke finally speaks, and the article confirms that Kate Oates' work will start transmitting in February 2019. https://metro.co.uk/2018/12/07/eastenders-spoilers-boss-john-yorke-reveals-unforgettable-christmas-and-2019-and-teases-shock-death-8217518/ He obviously cites Kat and Sharon as characters he's most proud of this time around. However, I think a lot of what's making this stint work for Kat is down to Jessie Wallace, and not the writing. Both Kat and Stacey appear to have been severely downgraded and watered down in order to prop Hayley.
  2. There was a certain charm and exuberance Bev possessed that couldn't easily be replicated or even explained properly, which is why GL and AW went in vastly different directions when they recast her roles.
  3. Geena suffers from poor character development, but I also think there's nothing interesting about the actress to compensate for the writing. Her acting style seems better suited for commercials and bit roles...
  4. It's not Christmas season for me without this:
  5. Trailer for Best Of DVD set, presented by Adam Woodyatt:
  6. It's even more outrageous now that Andy doesn't get mentioned. Since Becky is now apparently pregnant as a result of a one night stand, you would think they would acknowledge that's how Jackie got pregnant with Andy as well - a major plotline in season 6 of Roseanne.
  7. It's amazing to see how audience tastes fluctuated in the 80's. The primetime soaps had a high peak in the early/mid part of the 80's, but a significant fall by the end of that decade. The opposite seems to be true for sitcoms.
  8. Murder She Wrote and 60 Minutes were really keeping CBS alive by this point...
  9. Yes, with Cosby, Roseanne, and A Different World - I believe it was the first time one studio (Carsey-Werner) had the top 3 shows on television. Roseanne was indeed an instant hit, and was the top show the night it premiered.
  10. Very surprised she did this.
  11. The next season will have a direct correlation to this current season - Roseanne and Murphy Brown both premiered in the 88-89 season.
  12. Johnny Galecki feels more alive playing David than he has for many, many years on TBBT.
  13. 13:18 in begins the segment where she touches on Ryan's Hope:
  14. TV One aired an episode of Uncensored about Tichina Arnold tonight. She talked about how she'll always love and be grateful to Michael Levin because he really really went to bat for her to get cast on Ryan's Hope, and because that door opened for her, it led to other opportunities. It was sweet how fondly she spoke of him.
