  1. Yes, Tiffany is Ricky and Bianca's daughter and neither is on the show. Bianca will likely never return as Patsy Palmer seems over playing Bianca and now happily lives in Malibu. I do think Bernedette/Tiffany are one of the stronger points in the show and it's been allowed to developed gradually as opposed to over night. I'd prefer them remain as friends though, as I can't bear the thought of watching Tiffany turn into another Sonia - a lesbian only when it suits her. I really enjoyed the scene on Friday with Kat and Tiffany in the vic talking about love and when you find it - it's moments like that which soaps no longer bother to do. Kat's next chapter is potentially the most exciting thing about her. If they really make a strong attempt to move her on from Alfie and her sexual abuse from Harry, it would be a great start. She's a stronger character than Alfie and he brings her down. Jessie Wallace has been on fire this whole stint and the show is very lucky to have her back. It's been great watching Kat back in action working in the Vic recently, she really added some excitement to the place. I also see a really nice friendship developing with her and Linda - much more believable than the friendship Linda and Sharon have. I think it will be a while before they try to find her another man, but it would have to be someone totally opposite from Alfie. I also think Kat's at a stage where she can occupy a similar role to what Bet Lynch had for years on Corrie. Letitia Dean is on vacation, hence why Sharon isn't on and the one decent story she's had in years. Mel's return has a big failure, especially with today's news. She's been back for a year and has not been integrated with the rest of the show - she and her set are totally isolated and she has no other meaningful relationships. She just doesn't fit into this show anymore, and it will take a lot of work to make her happen again. I did hear Tamzin extended her contract a bit, so maybe it's to play out the aftermath of this story and she leaves. I won't miss her as this whole stint has been pointless as hell.
  2. I think a lot of GH's problems started with Riche/Guza - I can't blame JFP for revolving the show around Sonny, Jason, and Carly as that had started long before she arrived. Sure she didn't help it, but the show was going in that direction regardless.
  3. Courtney's butch haircut and wardrobe didn't help that 84-85 stint at all as well...
  4. Personally, I think Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are buying these nominations. It would be a shame if Gaga won an Oscar over a real actress.
  5. I don’t know what’s worse - Charlie Winter’s acting or his rapping...
  6. Kate Oates speaks about some of her plans in 2019 for EastEnders:
  7. I have to wonder if Robert/Anna only had a sustaining impact purely because of Robin and not because of their own relationship.
  8. Somehow Mel has managed to be more unlikeable this time around than in her original stint. Her return has been an epic fail and I don’t know why they are centering their New Year’s around such a poorly told story with characters just about nobody cares about.
  9. I think it's best if this is the end for Kat/Alfie. Alfie needs Kat more as a character than she needs him. Hopefully they can move her on intelligently from him. Jessie Wallace was at her best in this episode, she's definitely deserving of being one of the show's leading ladies and press icon. When she's on form, it's impossible to take your eyes off her. i don't think most actresses on the show currently have that quality about them.
  10. @DRW50 will be happy.
  11. I think he said he found ATWT to be way more boring than GL, which is why he wanted to write for it. He probably liked Rauch's crazier elements at that time. The early 00's - what a bizarre time for soaps, and the world in general. Now that enough time has passed, I still don't know if I can begin to explain it.
  12. Jon Sen named new Executive Producer of EastEnders, and will be reporting into Kate Oates. https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/bbcstudios/2018/eastenders-jon-sen
  13. John Yorke finally speaks, and the article confirms that Kate Oates' work will start transmitting in February 2019. https://metro.co.uk/2018/12/07/eastenders-spoilers-boss-john-yorke-reveals-unforgettable-christmas-and-2019-and-teases-shock-death-8217518/ He obviously cites Kat and Sharon as characters he's most proud of this time around. However, I think a lot of what's making this stint work for Kat is down to Jessie Wallace, and not the writing. Both Kat and Stacey appear to have been severely downgraded and watered down in order to prop Hayley.
  14. There was a certain charm and exuberance Bev possessed that couldn't easily be replicated or even explained properly, which is why GL and AW went in vastly different directions when they recast her roles.
  15. Geena suffers from poor character development, but I also think there's nothing interesting about the actress to compensate for the writing. Her acting style seems better suited for commercials and bit roles...
  16. It's not Christmas season for me without this:
