  1. Has Janine even interacted with Tiffany since she's been back? i bet she probably won't with the new Liam either since its a small stint.
  2. Was this the only scene VM and SJB shared?
  3. Early on in her run, TB's Carly came off as such a wimp. SJB's Carly would have never been been played that way, lol.
  4. WandaVision Agatha Spinoff Starring Kathryn Hahn Eyed at Disney+ [Report] I guess this could be where Agatha's link to the Fantastic Four/Franklin Richards could be explored. Franklin, of course, is classically a mutant (f.uck that sh!t Dan Slott pulled in the comics last year). By then, we should hope the word "mutant" is a thing in the MCU.
  5. Because we talked about her recently - Sarah Joy Brown's Carly on GH.
  6. A pre-Spice Girl Emma Bunton in a bit role on EastEnders:
  7. Maybe they had no intention initially of making Luke & Laura a couple? But had to backtrack when they unexpectedly caught on?
  8. Adam Rickitt, who once played Nick Tilsley on Coronation Street, had a #5 hit on the UK singles chart with this in 1999:
  9. Prior to playing Steve Owen on EastEnders, Martin Kemp was a member of Spandau Ballet.
  10. They tried really hard to make her the next Kylie, and it didn't work, lol. Her rendition of Kiss Kiss (that song has been done a million times) did hit #1 in both the UK and Australia, and I remember some controversy with the video in the UK press at the time, but that momentum didn't last.
  11. Several songs written specifically for EastEnders storylines hit the UK singles charts in the 80's: Nick Berry's Every Loser Wins hit #1 on the UK singles chart in 1986: Letitia Dean and Paul Medford's Something Outa Nothing reached #12 on the UK singles chart also in 1986: Anita Dobson's vocal version of the EastEnders theme song hit #4 on the UK singles chart that same year:
  12. Even if they do cast an Asian male, they’ll never attempt to have him be sexual and the least bit complex. It’s unfortunate. Granted, this issue is not specific to the soaps. Asian Americans are underrepresented across all media. In film, for example, until Crazy Rich Asians in 2018, the last film starring an all-Asian cast to get wide distribution was, what, The Joy Luck Club in 1993 (starring Ming-Na Wen)?
  13. Hell, might as well add Kylie’s own sister, Danni. 😛 https://youtu.be/1YblCV3Iz2k
  14. The most popular example in the UK and Australia would be Kylie Minogue. This was her first #1 hit (and debut single internationally) from 1987.
  15. Over in the UK, this was a #1 hit for Martine McCutcheon in 1999 a few months after her controversial exit/firing from EastEnders. In fact, I’m keen to believe the only reason it hit #1 there was due to the circumstances surrounding her exit, lol.
  16. It’s a combination of PB hating that story, racism on behalf of TPTB, the initial story not being well-received at the time, and yes, Keemo was just not a great character, so I can see why he wouldn’t excite most writers (particularly unimaginative ones like Josh Griffith). That said, he’s been gone for so long, he could realistically be re-imagined and reworked - but no one at the show currently would put in the type of effort necessary to do that.
  17. KW should have gone onto bigger and better things career-wise. But as Chuck Lorre’s ex-wife (and wife of a decade), she married well and likely doesn’t have to work a day in her life again because of that.
  18. That whole anniversary celebration quickly became a hot ass mess.
  19. 2004: July 19th - Charity Rahmer assumes the role of Belle Black
  20. Back when people actually watched and talked about this show.
  21. I’m not sure most of this is true to character. Everyone seems dumb as rocks!
  22. Robin was getting to be way too virtuous, they needed someone to knock her down a bit and balance it out. There was a point after Stone when it felt like everyone was her damn friend and was so concerned about her for months.
  23. Love how hood SJB's Carly could get with "Saint Robin":
  24. The funny thing is TB pushed very hard for the Alcazar pairing and for Carly to move forward from Sonny. Of course she was put in her place for that and eventually left. I guess you could say the same happened with SJB, who questioned the motivation for the character-writing on her way out in 2001 as well. As a character arc, SJB had the best by far during her tenure. She instilled an emotional depth in that character that hasn't been duplicated since. LW is content with playing Carly as written and that's fine - but Carly has basically been any random basic soap antiheroine with her in the role. With SJB, she often played against the writing, added layers to the characterization, and often came off as very anti-soap in a good way (if that makes sense). TB put in some great work, but the grittiness that made Carly unique wasn't often there in her more polished and mob-wife version.
