  1. How long did Burns play Cathy ? I think I read somewhere she had another short term role on the show in the 80's. She was hilarious in an episode of Love American Style. She played a woman on her honeymoon and becomes addicted to gambling and spends her wedding night at the craps table as her husband whines. I think she and Richard Thomas were an item during the early 70's. She guest starred in an episode of The Walton's around that time.
  2. I think I saw quad, but they may be on film. As you said they probably have degraded and might not be able to be played without damage.
  3. I remember her saying in an interview how awful early on the equipment was and how the show was filmed. I know Genie Francis got her role in 1976 by the producers seeing her in that Family episode tormenting Kristy McNichol. Genie said they asked her if she could ride a skateboard and she lied and told them " Sure I can"...she then went home and practiced over the weekend getting banged and scraped up.....LOL
  4. Bill Bell also stated he never intended to dump Y&R after the first 6 months when Jeanne Coooper said so in an interview. Then an article surfaced from an interview he gave in 1976 where he stated her was going to dump the show after being frustrated with the slow climb in the ratings. CBS encouraged him to give it time to catch on and by 1974 the show had risen to the top of the ratings.
  5. UCLA Film and TV Archive lists as having several pre-wiping period episodes in their archives along with episodes of ATWT. They are listed as not available for public viewing. I assume they do not have the equipment to play those old quad tapes or it's just an excuse to not have to bother with them.
  6. It's interesting that Aniston & Mascolo both appeared in an earlier era (1960's) of the show and then come back in later years (1980's). It would be neat to see footage of those earlier appearances and the characters they interacted with.
  7. Hilarious interview with Maree Cheatham (Marie) about Days 50th. https://vimeo.com/145706846
  8. Susan Hayes and Denise Alexander were really close during their time on Days. There were a lot of photos from them together in magazines at each other's homes cooking etc...When they did the lifetime tribute, Michael Fairman said Denise wanted to do it and express how much she felt about Susan....and Bill. I assume she a Denise are still good friends.
  9. I read that Joseph Mascolo (Stefano) appeared as another character on the show in 1968/69 ?
  10. Jeffries was also the guy who did the Topol smokers toothpaste commercials in the 80's.
  11. I was watching the Bill and Susan Hayes Lifetime Award clips and I wonder why Denise Alexander has never returned to Days as Susan even for a short stint ?
  12. Deborah Adair in the Secret ad featured in the 1988 episode.
  13. This has probably been posted before, but I will post it again anyway. Susan Seaforth Hayes flashes back to 1968.
  14. That sounds more realistic than when Dylan was crammed down viewers throats as Nikki and Paul's cult baby.
  15. She was hit by a car if I remember correctly.
  16. I thought Heath Kizzier resembled William Gray Espy. How about calling Dr. Chuck Foster ?
  17. Mr. Baker Ron's Boss is actor Stanley Grover. His daughter is actress Cindy Grover who was on Love Of Life in the early 70's.
  18. Thanks for the info. They kept Moss around for decades and people complained he was wooden. I think Clayton was fine in the role. Norcross has carved out a career in Italy. If you google him, most of the stuff that has been written about him is in Italian. I remember when Macy first met Thorne it was still Norcross in the role. Then Trachta came on and Thorne and Macy became the singing couple ala Steve and Betty Jo Elliott on Petticoat Junction. Speaking of Moss, I read that article done a few months back that said the real reason he left B&B was because after an auto accident, his ability to memorize lines was shot. He also said he wished the show had left his character remain without a recast. The show also dumped Stephen Shortridge as Dave by the end of the first year. They could have used him in other pairings. Maybe Dave/Macy/Thorne ?
  19. Ronn Moss seems to still be close to Clayton Norcross. Here are some pics of them in recent years.
  20. I never understood why Judith Baldwin was replaced so quickly after the shows premiere. Does anyone know why the switch ? I wonder what Constance Towers would have been like as Beth Logan ? I don't think there was ever a reason given for the switch from Clayton Norcross to Jeff Trachta.
  21. Speaking of Matt played by Robert Parucha......there was an actor that looked similar to him named John Darby. He was the boyfriend of Barker Beauty Holly Halstrom on the Price Is Right for a period in the mid 80's. It stated on TPIR that he was on Y&R and Capitol. I do not remember him on either show. I was in school then and only go to see the shows on breaks. Does anyone remember him and the roles he played ? I assume they were short stints. Here is a clip of him surprising Holly in a showcase in 1984.
  22. I had read that rumor about Lilibet letting herself go on the old media domain boards. Supposedly she was an exercise instructor and nurse at one point in her life. There was also a story of a nasty divorce from her first husband and details about the home they were living in. She is now in real estate and looks good. She goes by her re-married last name Iken now.
  23. I agree. A lot of episodes were written by David Jacobs (Dallas & Knots Landing).
  24. Judith Chapman on Family in 1980.
  25. Yes. A woman called them all one by one to meet at The Colonnade Room, but it was never revealed who it was.
