  1. I never got that. SK wasn't fat. He gained weight since the 90's, but he was still hot. MB and SBu don't look like they did in 1995. In fact SBu looks like an entirely different person and MB is certainly not the smoke show he was in the 90's. I honestly don't think it was meant to be a dig at SR/Maggie, it was just noticeable because she didn't say that to anyone else. I assume it just a poor dialogue choice.
  2. The whole thing should have waited until the PP situation was worked out because that was a mess that really hurt the show long run with everyone having to play new characters. That got me more than bringing OLTLers over. I understand it was nice for OLTL fans to see their characters again, but I don't think it pleased viewers of either show. I certainly know more than enough about OLTL to follow along when they were on GH and I do think ME and RH did fit well at the beginning. It just made GH fans resentful characters were being pushed on them and OLTL fans upset endings were being undone without proper care. Tea's brother Tomas was hinted at being Alcazar, correct? That would have worked for me. That was truly a way to connect the two shows together that was natural. In regards to Vanessa-Frank is a fool. The show has been treading water with Carson for years. Once this Nina story plays out, bring Brenda back, pair her with Sonny, bring her son along and make him gay or bi, have Brenda work at Deception with Lucy and call it a day. I think it would be a good time with Sonny and Carly broken up and Jax/Jason gone, so the show isn't forced to tease those two pairings as well. It was difficult for me because I didn't watch PC at all and it was continuous on both shows and very few PC characters had a true connection to AIDS awareness/Stone/Robin. I think it would have been easier to bring a few relevant characters over to GH for that week and have PC focus on other stories, but I know it was a rare chance for PC to grab ratings. I also think the more time went by fewer characters knew Stone and Robin was gone, so the emotional gravity of it wasn't the same. It became a lot of time devoted to promoting actors singing talent and a chance to get Lucy in her underwear at the end. I was sad when they ended it, but it was not what it was before at all.
  3. Yeah, I doubt Sarah/Renee would tell Marlena/DH she's aged lol. It should have just been a blanket reaction to all the characters she knew. Even saying something like Tony/Anna looked older than she remembered or something because at the moment it feels like she was singling out Maggie.
  4. Playing devil's advocate on the OLTL cast, I will say I am a GH viewer. I watched OLTL a bit, but it was never my soap nor was I invested in it. From that point of view the initial moves RC made with the characters worked okay for me. Sam/McBain had great chemistry as did Todd/Carly. I was not upset Todd/Blair weren't together because that wasn't my soap. So coming from that point of view (which I am not sure how much of the GH audience was), I was fine not having to bring a whole other backstory over. I didn't want a bunch of characters from another soap to come aboard when there were characters from GH that should have been brought back first. I think it was fine to at least try to cut most ties OLTL if you are bringing on these characters. I am watching GH, not a hybrid. It may sound harsh, but it's always how I felt and I do think paying RH, ME, and whatever they paid KA made me mad because they could have used that on GH vets. I understand it was a chance to bring in OLTL viewers but I still think it was a mistake. Anyway, with Vanessa it seems she does not pursue the show and is used to GH pursuing her-which they should. Judging by her lack of work for years, it seems she handled her money well and doesn't need to work. FV may not like her type of personality and she does seem very flakey, but not like a diva really. I just think she knows her worth. I can understand her turning GH down if the offer is bad, but I don't think they have approached her at all and MB pimps a Brenda return all the time.
  5. I agree. I actually think McBain and Todd worked fine, but then they disappeared and it was jarring (though not RC's fault). Them disappearing without a word was more awkward then them being on then bringing them back as new characters was a mistake in every single case. The Kate/Connie story is also what killed it for me. What is the deal with that? I have heard rumors, but does Fv really hate her? Can VM be THAT difficult? She worked on the show for years without much incident or rumors of her being hard to work with. I can't imagine she's worse than Steve or Ingo. We can tread water for a bit with Sonny/Nina, but it's very clear Brenda is missing on the canvas. Throw her son right into the teen scene and call it a day.
  6. So funny. You are good. When you said that I was like I think there was a scene at Kelly's and there it was lol. Shame on me for not remembering every Brenda scene ever. Seriously, I am usually much more on top of that🤣 I think it was more special because of the Guza years and all the cancellation rumors. RC really did breathe new life to the show for a few months. The OLTL nonsense really started the ruination. Tbh, I thought the first several Nurses Ball's were very touching-up until 1998 I think. It really helped that Stone/Robin's story was so fresh. I think 1995-1998 are the best years for the NB. Having PC and GH do the Nurse's Ball really stilted the way it flowed and the acts got sillier.
  7. You are correct. They did interact. Here's the scene starting 40 seconds in.
  8. Did Brenda and AJ even share a scene during the 50th? Lol, I don't remember. I agree Guza wouldn't never have even brought AJ back so it's a moot point. Despite their Jason/Sonny shipping, I never got the feeling Brenda/Robin disliked AJ or necessarily agreed with the Jason/Carly/Sonny position on Michael not being part of AJ's life. Although I think they both blamed it on Carly rather than Jason/Sonny. I have always considered AJ/Robin/Brenda friends or at the very least friendly.
  9. I was going to say the same thing as well. A pop in would be great, but the only other option is one sided phone calls and/or off screen visits with Sarah. I am okay with killing him off. People pass away.
  10. I generally don't dislike anything VM/Brenda does-the Michael nonsense just wasn't my fave. At least Brenda was acting feisty and more like Brenda this return. Given their screen partners and the fact Jax/Brenda were just returning it was great they were in the 50th. It was just very obvious they were going to drop the engagement bomb and me knowing they weren't long for the show I was like🤷‍♀️ I did enjoy the Sonny/Brenda goodbye when they kissed and was back in my happy place when she left. Honestly the Cassadine stuff was good, old fashioned adventure. It just wasn't my favorite part. I think it's mostly Lulu's fault-even frozen ER's Lulu was bad. It's very brief, but we at least got to hear an update- ELIZABETH: Grandpa’s General Hospital’s heart and soul. AUDREY: I know. That he was. ELIZABETH: Kind of wish everyone could have been here. Sarah’s in Monterey, Mom and Dad are in Asia, Tom’s in Africa. You know that Tommy just graduated from medical school? So, if he’s anything like the Hardys, I’m sure he’s off to practice medicine in some exotic place. We really are scattered, aren’t we?
  11. Jeff Webber abusing Liz would feel a lot like what they almost did with Rick/Laura. It just seems like something awful to do to a character that hasn't been on in years. Jeff can be a deadbeat dad, but let's not make him an abuser 30-40 years after the fact.
  12. I LOVED the Audrey/Liz scenes and the exposition on where the Hardy/Webbers were. I tear up at Patrick's speech even if that would not be the person I would choose to give it. The ghost stuff was silly, but it was nice to see old faces. I would almost say the Sonny/Brenda/Jax/Carly stuff was out of place, but I can't say anything against Brenda, so I won't. I liked it all including the Nurses Ball and Sabrina!!!-I know. It fell off the rails a few days later with the frozen Lulu story and then the Michael/Brenda weird situation, but overall, an enjoyable month or so.
  13. He'd probably make her a wacky singing villian out for revenge against Maggie or Marlena for no reason. Much like RC decided to make Diana Coleville an entirely different person to introduce......Leo. Who wasn't even John's son so what was the point of that?
  14. I am surprised no one said GH's 50th show. I really loved it. I liked all the characters featured, the new interns getting a tour of the hospital, Patrick's speech, Audrey and the Steve portrait, Sonny/Jax/Brenda, GhostAlan, almost all of it. Luke/Laura finding Ethan instead of Lucky was a little lame as was GhostEmily, but probably my favorite episode of the last decade easily.
  15. It's seems like it would have been a great oppurtunity for Neil to at least pop back in and introduce Noel. JG is 87, so he may not have wanted to but I actually think Gloria Loring would be open to doing at least a brief return. I want to stop making fun of Days stories, but each day gets a little worse especially with the Sarah story. Even the off screen stuff is stupid. Marlena just spent the night with Belle tied up upstairs and didn't inform anyone in the household?
  16. Thanks! I was going back and forth in my mind if it was a pen or stethoscope lol. For some reason, I got the impression Neil didn't die recently because if he did he would have known she was on track to being a Dr. and had been a Dr. for awhile when she arrived in Salem.
  17. I don't think it's weird. I think it tastes fine. I honestly wouldn't think twice about someone doing that in front of me and mayo is delicious. It is silly that was made out to cement how Lani/TR were father/daughter. I am not even sure anyone in my immediate family has the same tastes as me🤣
  18. Probably too ridiculous, but maybe? I think for me personally as a viewer if the show just wiped it away as Marlena having no memories of it because it wasn't her it could work because all the pieces would line up if Sam was pretending to be Marlena pretty much. Plus it wouldn't negate all Marlena's marriages, made her a battered wife, made her so traumatized she forgot him for 30 years, etc and Alex could have not even known it wasn't Marlena and not believed he was deceived. No matter how you spin it-it was a terrible, embarrassing waste of Wayne, but thinking about it I could buy that. It also would have helped if John acted less like an obsessed weirdo (he was right, but he was acting way too intense) and worked with Roman, Bo, and/or Abe to figure it out instead of basically stalking Marlena and telling her she was wrong🤣. It also would have helped if Marlena didn't act like she had to stay married to Alex and disregarded everything John and her entire family were saying as well. There were multiple problems with the story.
  19. I thought they confirmed he was dead. Maggie gave Sarah something of his (a pen?) and she said Neil would have been so proud she was a Dr. I guess they didn't say Neil was dead, but I took it to mean Neil had passed away and not recently. Anyway RIP Neil Curtis!
  20. I hate to say this and I am not defending Teen Jessica, but this story makes less sense lol. At least Jessica thought she was Jessica, albeit a teen version of herself. Sarah thinks she's an unrelated person that died 40 years ago. People can literally prove Renee is dead, but aren't. Anyway, today's show. Marlena just tied Belle up upstairs and didn't tell Tony and Anna the devil was in their house and had an off screen interaction with Sarah/Renee and wasn't concerned? For some reason I find that hilarious. Also, hilarious, Tony/Anna didn't feel the need to investigate this at all. I don't understand how this movie is still a go with E.J. in jail. Wasn't he playing John? Among the million other things wrong with this story is Sarenee dressing so current. I know it's the least of the stories problems, but the show could put her in a dress that's classic and vaguely timeless like the stuff Belle or Nicole wear. Stuff that could work in multiple decades. I can't imagine any version of diary Renee would wear a crop top and plaid pants.
  21. Correct. In theory, unless the diary had pictures she wouldn't know what anyone looked like lol. I have so many questions. Clearly she can see someone's age, so isn't she a little confused her "peers" are at least 30 years older than her? And even just simple things like Anna clearly hasn't been ovulating in at least 20 years so she didn't just recently have a miscarriage. Does she physically see herself as how she looks as Sarah or as Renee? Because pictures of her seem to indicate she sees herself as what she thinks Renee would look like or what Renee looked like. The more you think about it the less sense it makes and it makes 0 sense when you think about it briefly lol.
  22. Lol! The thing is I don't think it's a new societal trend. I have known quite a few people who eat mayo and french fries. And some of them weren't even related.........but perhaps it's making those people feel more accepted since it was shown on Days with such care and understanding to those who make the choice of french fries and mayo🤣.🤣
  23. Glad they told Maggie. It was really annoying me. I looked quickly over the recap and Sarenee mentioned Maggie had aged a lot? So I am very confused why she doesn't notice Tony and Anna, but I will have to watch the show today I guess.
  24. I suspect the movie will eventually be cancelled, so I doubt it matters much. I am not really sure the true status of the movie. I think not everyone has committed as far as the 'cast' goes like Allie and Chanel. But, yes, you would assume he'd have more involvement. I thought it was shocking that the Devil was in Doug at first. I really didn't have a desire to see it, but it was at least a twist. He didn't do much of anything besides grab Paulina's ass and lock Julie in a freezer (which I don't hate lol). And it's nice of Marlena to save her 90 year old buddy, but maybe she shouldn't have let the devil in and unleashed it on the entire town. IMO, it would have made more sense for the devil to be in Belle first because Marlena would absolutely sacrifice herself for her daughter. Doug? I mean I guess? Lol. Or too slow. Like the Possession lol. Or we have Sarenee's story that's been dropped for days and I guess we just assume she's running around town looking for Don Craig and nobody has informed Maggie because last we heard she was on a trip with Victor.
  25. Yeah, the T.R. stuff is terrible. I think the actor only signed on for short term, but maybe find a different actor then? It would have been so much better if Paulina was drawn back to him, even reluctantly, and starting giving him a second chance and Lani started to bond with him. Or if he did starting dating Nancy or something. The only thing that happened was Paulina yelling at him to stay away and Lani sharing some fries and mayo with him. It seems like such a waste of story. Eli got shot, but there were so many missed beats. Anyhow, through all my complaining I forgot to say how much I loved the Will/Allie scenes. It felt like another show. So realistic and natural. Chandler and Lindsey have great chemistry as siblings. They also look alike, which is something I feel Days does well with when casting usually. I still have no idea why the devil didn't go into Belle initially and not Johnny. She's such an obvious choice for Possession and I am not sure why the show didn't just go that route. It's not like JoDevil has done anything important.
