I adored CB's Zander and thought he was great with AT's Emily. The writing just became so oddly bias against him. He is a character that should not have been killed off. I am going to only say this once and I am sure I am going to get massive hate for this but NL had the best chemistry with MB. The idea of the pairing was just so icky and weird but they did have chemistry and NL had like anti chemistry with everyone else

This was spoiled so I knew it was coming and I sorta appreciate they used ED when they can. Obviously it's highly problematic with SH also playing her, but this calls for Kristen to have palatable chemistry with Drake, so I am fine with it. DH's and ED work so well together. Anyway, at this point, I think anyone watching Days suspends all sorts of belief on what's real life. It is such a tease because ED is so instantly Kristen no one can even try to replace her.

So much JJ crying. His career has been decent but you have to think he'd be willing to comeback. He's still young and has a family to support as it doesn't seem like his wife still acts. I would love a Gia comeback. Does Marisa Ramirez still act? I just loved her. Lol! just googled her and realized she a series regular on Blue Bloods. Probably not coming back I haven't watched CBS since Shemar Moore was on Criminal Minds haha

Vanessa Marcil easily. I mean she didn't have good chemistry with Ricky, but she had better chemistry with him than anyone else. She even made Brad Rowe seem mildly not bland. BH, SBu, KMc are honarble mentions for GH. On Days I always thought Ali Sweeney managed good chemistry with her pairings. Deidre has done well with her pairings too. The only person she has had anti chemistry with is JT's Roman. And they actually were kinda cute in 86 when he played Chris.

Carson is totally the blackhole pairing we get when another Sonny love interest fails. I am sure it has some fans, but it's clearly such a default pairing that it's not even funny. I don't like Nina and I am fine with her taking her turn with Sonny. At least there is something somewhat different about this pairing from other wash, rinse, repeat Sonny romances. Just bring back Brenda and call it a day with Sonny. You don't even need to bring back VM just have Sonny travel to Rome and be gone lol.

Lol! Freeing Sonny from Carly works for me, so I suppose we are on the same team. I am here for Sonny/Nina, but I don't think Carly is innocent with her Jason love. Anyhow, they are both kind of trash people and I am ready for Carson to end. They are so boring.

Vanessa is older than Brenda by a good 5 to 6 years depending on her SORASing because she was aged up to 21 before her peers. VM did look almost 10 years older than Robin, but I think the show always spun that as Brenda looking very mature. She was married and had major entanglements with Sonny before Robin even graduated HS lol Genie did read older when she returned. And it's almost like a Julie on Days situation where storylines dated her prematurely. Laura had been around so long you just assumed she was much older than Brenda/Lois

They actually are kind of funny from things I have seen on social media and clips. BUT..I think they should be paying me to watch it so totally fair.

Brenda has a kid although I enjoyed the fact she had none for so long. Phillip on Days only has (non-existent) Pocket that I am not sure is even still in the Days canon like his amputated leg Rafe on Days Eric on Days

I have to agree with your take on L&L. Laura having another kid did not seem like the plan for their return. Luke was still involved in the mob/action adventure stuff with Sonny/Frank Smith and Lucky was old enough to do his own thing, so it does seem to have changed the trajectory of Laura's story. It did lead to the re-introduction of the Cassadines and Nik, which I did think was great, but GF's extended maternity leave and then 'weight' issues did not help her with TPTB. I felt like Laura spent long periods of time moodily hanging out with Stefan and an inexplicably dark haired young Lulu on Spoon Island after she and Luke broke up. It's weird because Genie is the same age as MB and a half a dozen years older than Rena Sofer and Vanessa Marcil, but she felt like an entire different generation at the time.

Also, to be fair there isn't much reason for Kim to be on. There's no Andrew and Theresa and Eve aren't onscreen. She is still, as far as we know, with Shane who isn't a fixture on the show. The most she could do is something with Tate and hang out with Kayla, Roman, John, and Marlena. I actually prefer Kim to Kayla, but I really don't see a point of bringing her back with all the characters we already have in her age range. I do think she is someone who could pop in and out though.

I liked Carrie and Mike too. RC and CC worked well together. It was odd they referenced his past because it does bring light to the supposed age difference but RC was the same age as MW's Mike. I think he just looked younger and fit with that aged crowd. Still, it's kind of creepy he knew Carrie as a child. Chase's Kim was surprisingly okay with the John/Marlena affair and Marlena admitted to her fairly quickly which was weird. WN's Roman and Kim really didn't have that strong of a bond onscreen and I always considered her to have the strongest bond with RoJohn out of all the Brady siblings, so I guess it made sense. What's weird to think about to is MBE's Kayla never shared scenes with WN's Roman pre-1991. They didn't recast Kayla until after John was believed to be Roman. I always felt bad for Marlena and Roman during that time period post-affair. Roman was always about to forgive her and he would stumble onto some worse new revelation every time they got close. I am not a Roman/Marlena shipper or anything, but it made me sad for them during that time. WN/DH played their hurt really well and it was sad to see the marriage crumble. WN is actually played Roman so grounded and is very underrated, although I see why he was let go. I could never imagine his Roman in those wacky Reilly mid 90's stories.

PP left in December of 1992, so we are reaching the end of her run, but it isn't her last scenes. PP/WN don't really interact much to be honest. I THINK they had a few scenes before Wayne left in 1984 (someone correct me if I am wrong), but my first real solid memory of Kim is her freaking out at Roman's funeral over Eric Brady SR. Then when Wayne returned she was peripherally part of the Tale of 2 Romans and then Roman/John help rescue her and Kayla from Cal. Roman was a fairly large part of the alter story, but PP left halfway through it. Kim was one of the few people who knew about John/Marlena's affair but it was mostly Arianna Chase as Kim. RoJohn had most of the brotherly scenes with Kayla/Kim. WN's Roman was way more tied to Bo and they always had drama. I do think PP reappeared for Tom's funeral so I assume her and WN had scenes, but I can't really recall them. I am sure it had to do with the Marlena/John situation.

#1 Brenda on GH. It's been like a decade. WTH is the wait? Non fan girl picks- Lots of Days kids disappear Andrew Donovan as an adult on Days Stephanie on Days Chelsea on Days Melissa on Days-she'd fill the Horton void Hope/Jen have left open Dougie on Days-like legit Doug has a kid out there that is never mentioned lol I agree with Peter as well Lois on GH-I am surprised she hasn't been recast Not a daytime soap, but I was always upset they never brought Alison back on Melrose Place. Her and Billy should have had a happy ending and the only update we got on Alison is that she was a drunk again in Atlanta. She was the main heroine of the show for several years. WTF?

Yeah to go from NL to TB as a recast is just so odd. They aren't that far apart in age, but for me it was jarring because they are literally two different generations on GH. Plus, TB is about 10 years older than the original Taylor and older than AZ. Oh well, it seems like things were dropped or rewritten for sure.

Well, if we are talking about short term characters making it big Luke on GH was supposed to die instead of Roy Sonny was supposed to have a six month arc Marlena on Days was only supposed to bridge the 'blonde shrink' gap between Laura recasts And here we are...I think it does happen a lot, which is pretty cool. It could be a whole other thread to talk about characters that shows had big plans for that were scrapped after they tanked like Miranda on GH or Kit on AMC or Taylor on Days. Every stunt casting decision they have made on B&B lol....

Well, I don't know if Missy's backstage stuff changed the story of Jen/Jack/Peter, but the recast certainly killed the momentum. Also, this is probably not the most egregious case, but you could tell onscreen when NL and TC broke up in real life as Nik and Emily. The (small) amount of chemistry they had was completely gone lol

I would say Mac fell out of favor after the tale of 2 Macs story and Felicia after the Luke affair, so it isn't Frank's fault. I think the show could/should write for them, but they are such a boring couple. I like them both, but the only time they ever have had much drama is when Felicia was abandoning and/or cheating on him. NLG seems to have more purpose than Kate on Days, but she definitely is ill defined now. LK seems to have a lot of guarantees compared to the rest of her age range. A lot more than Marlena, John, Steve, Kayla etc. As far as Alexis, I think the character started off as a certain type of strong willed, no nonsense character and has devolved into whatever the mess she is now.

Lol! Yes. I remember those scenes and it being blurry for Susan in the flashback, but I couldn't remember if they actually did the deed or if he inseminate her as Elvis. Man, I thought Stefano had some standards.

I found ED's Susan annoying especially after the Kristen stuff was exposed. She outlived her usefulness and it felt gimmicky to just have ED play two characters just because. On a side note, did Stefano sleep with Susan or was it artificial insemination? For some reason I can't remember. I actually wish Theo would yell at someone (Ben and Ciara obvi). The way Theo just takes things so easily makes me not invested in him at all. He like purposely has no personality so we are rooting for Ben/Ciara which sucks.

I won't give you any backlash on Alexis/NLG. There have been things and stories I really liked her in, but overall she's had more duds than wins in the story department. I personally wouldn't be torn up if Alexis left the show, but she is popular. I still think it's more of a case of NLG making it work than Alexis actually being a good character tbh. If I were to chose a Cassadine to have long term it definitely would be Stefan because like you said they never use that side of her character. And outside of Sam, they barely use her kids.

I definitely wouldn't chose her as my pick for leading lady, but she is preferably to Sam or Willow. It stinks for KT, but I have always felt she was lucky to have lasted as long as she has. I mean she outlasted Princess Sabrina by years and I didn't see that coming. She's a decent actress and they can probably test her with someone else, but I honestly thought she was a good fit on Days too. She's not the first actress to be left in a lurch when her leading man departs so I am not to broken up about it either lol.

The problem with both these ladies is that the styling isn't hiding any weight gain it's making them both look bigger, especially KS. It's like the show has no idea how to dress someone larger than a size 2. Maxie looks frumpy 90% of the time. Out of all Sonny's transgressions over 30 years, the fact that he has had so many unplanned pregnancies bothers me the most. He watched his best friend slowly die from AIDS and watched his other dear friend live with HIV. And he has had more unplanned pregnancies than anyone on the show. I can't believe Sonny would be that careless and irresponsible. It legit bothers me more than his criminal activity.

That's sounds vaguely familiar, but since I didn't pay attention to either of them I probably forgot. I remember BC being very cocky about his place on GH and then begging any soap to hire him lol. I honestly didn't know they broke up.
