  1. Pro? These sound like arguments from those who are against Net Neutrality, those that are in favor of doing away with it.
  2. I'm not sure whether this is still up on Wikipedia but
  3. CNET gives a summary of the yesterday's vote at the FCC as well as gives a prediction on what we can expect from the gutting of the Net Neutrality rule.
  4. Yeah, I've been reading quite a bit lately about fake comments on the FCC's website, all in support of undoing Net Neutrality. With this lying administration, should this surprise anyone?
  5. Susan Sarandon is getting her ass dragged all over Twitter. The catalyst? A "Thank You" tweet to African Americans for the special election results in Alabama. God, what a tone-deaf person she is! The sub-tweets are a scream though!
  6. Just like everything else with this administration of the damned.
  7. Just disgusted and weary by the bare-faced greed of this administration. Two members, who also happen to be women, were the only ones trying to save Net Neutrality.
  8. I'm not questioning the decision by PBS to cut Rose and Smiley loose, at all. It was the correct decision. What I'm questioning are the people who blame PBS for being an incubator of sexual deviance. Both men produced their own shows. PBS acted as the distributor. Rose moved out of the PBS flagship headquarters well over a decade ago. In fact, he moved his personal office out of the Bloomberg building where the show had moved, to his house, which is why he had so much time and space to harass his assistants. By that time, he'd pretty much fired almost all the staff he'd had during the early years of his show. Walmart, which is the main sponsor of Smiley's show has yet to make any type of statement on the entire affair. I guess Walmart would rather hide behind PBS and let the broadcaster take the heat.
  9. FWIW, PBS didn't produce Smiley's show, they distributed it. Because he produces his own show, technically he could try to bring it somewhere else, though I don't know who would want to distribute his show at this point since he's practically radioactive now. Johnson's suicide note was posted on social media. I read it and came away with the impression that it was written by someone with a very messed up mind.
  10. I assumed it was just my browser or something. Ordinarily I use Firefox but with SON, I use Chrome. Perhaps my settings are doing this but it's just your tweets that I am seeing like this, so I wondered whether you were copying and pasting the entire tweets. But you're using the Embed function? Do you use the Source feature? You should probably ask if anyone else has this issue. Perhaps it's just my settings in Chrome.
  11. @Faulkner For some reason, your links don't quite come up that well for me- and when I try to click the links, sometimes your entire post disappears! I'm confounded. I don't know where to put this but this was so bizarre I had to share.
  12. One of President Obama's biggest detractors has just been suspended from his PBS show and frankly, given his arrogance and some of the anecdotes he hinted at in the past, I'm not surprised. PBS Suspends ‘Tavis Smiley’ Following Sexual Misconduct Investigation (EXCLUSIVE)
  13. Speaking of folks who spat in Obama's face, people are basically telling Mr. Berns to 'have a seat!'
  14. This is one of the most egregious non-Harvey accounts I think I've read so far. The restaurant industry seems to have a prolific history of abuse. No surprise that Mario Batali is also mentioned in this article. One former employee of the featured restaurant nicknamed him "The Red Menace". Ken Friedman, Power Restaurateur, Is Accused of Sexual Harassment
  15. Apparently, both sides of Congress have come up with some reconciled tax bill which, to no surprise, is said to favor the wealthy and corporations.
  16. Oh well. via GIPHY
  17. Very informative thread on the grassroots efforts to get out the votes. I have had my critiques of the effectiveness of today's NAACP but the Alabama chapter really stepped up their efforts in this special election! Believe it or not, I try to avoid Trump's tweets but I did hear stirrings about what many described as his insulting, rabidly sexist and misogynistic comments about Sen. Gillibrand. And this is the president that we all are supposed to treat as a "normal" head of state?? Are we supposed to give this respect??
  18. Despite voter suppression, this happened.
  19. Seven months pregnant? Where?? Seriously, though, she looks fantastic!
  20. I posted this in the harassers thread but this does take on a political edge since this man was one of the pundit/journos who helped to frame how HRC was written about during her candidacy. Yes, ANOTHER one!
  21. Unfortunately, it already had before Batali. John Besh is not as well-known but he had been in the news for sexual harassment allegations. Famed New Orleans chef steps down from his company amid sexual harassment allegations
