  1. Yeah, I meant that it would be playing really fast and loose with dates. We know that some military stayed behind after the Fall of Saigon in the early 1970s. Keemo could have been born in the mid 70s. Let's face it, with an 8 year age difference between Bergman and Moon, it was always implausible, even then. Why dig in to a "fact" that was never accurate to begin with, when the origin story could be tinkered with and actually improved, without losing the most important element, which is the fact that there is an Abbott of Asian descent? When they cut stick the knife in, by killing off Colleen Carlton for no good reason just to watch us get upset? What would be the fun in that?
  2. I also wonder if PB wants Jack to appear younger than he would be if that story gets resurrected. I don't think most fans would mind a de-aging of Keemo. They might even be willing to overlook or shift some aspects of Keemo's origin story? Every time I read about what the character of Jack is up to, it seems like he has little to nothing going on.
  3. Does anyone have the 411 on this news of Carlos Watson and his resignation from the NPR board?
  4. Did anybody see this? Manchin literally looking down at constituents from a yacht!
  5. Alan is afraid of her, lol she'd make him look like the hack he is. Better to get someone with some interviewing skills like Roger Newcomb, who knows actual show history, rather than fake it like Locher.
  6. It sounds somewhat convoluted. Yeah, that was a genuine fashion designer, back when soaps could afford such things. The last decade of the show could have used some interesting stories. I would have brought back Kim Ullrich Johnson as Betsey Stewart (no use trying to bring back the McColls, none of which had been seen since the late 80s, early 90s). I know the show claimed to have considered bringing back Steve but I really would have, for a brief story arc. I would've brought Dani and ignored that entire disgusting story that I heard of (which I thankfully never saw anyway, I would like to personally backhand the fool who wrote such an awful story) Dani and Craig 🤮, it never happened, 😂. The other day, I was watching an interview with Eileen Fulton, where she talked if returning to the show and having to step over Whit's body, 😂. She also talked about the fun of doing scenes with Elizabeth Hubbard, the battles between Lisa and Lucinda and those early scenes with Lucinda putting her feet up on Whit's desk after she'd taken over his office. I would love to see those scenes!
  7. Oh, so this is the episode where Craig's lies all unravel! No matter who was writing and who was in charge, this show stayed with having Steve crash swanky events looking like he just left the construction site. I wonder whether Frank Runyeon slightly lost interest once Meg Ryan left the show? Ariel was just blithely going along scandalizing Barbara's name. Was this because she split with James? So, Margo risks her life to save Barbara? This would not be the last time this happens. And again with no backup. I was NOT expecting to hear an instrumental version of "Jamming" by Bob Marley and The Wailers as the models walked the catwalk. Also, although I have heard about another McColl, I am not familiar with this one. I may have seen her once before. Is she Brian, Diana and Kurt's aunt, or something? That homicidal Richard or Davy Jenkins (who came up with that name??) looks strangely similar to the pyromaniac who was on that special Christmas episode of The Golden Girls, lol. It seems as if The Earl Mitchell Center was the fulfillment of an idea that may have started with The Refuge. I did giggle when Betsey, professing her love to Steve, says "I'm never going back to Craig" and I couldn't help but say "only when he offers you a job".😂 They made Frannie look so old in that outfit! Also the Asian woman modelling a "kimono-style" dress seemed a little 'on the nose'. Designer's choice, I guess. The music in the action sequences was so 70s!
  8. That's not surprising. I have a couple of friends in AZ who insist that they'll get her out of office.
  9. Wow, is that HBS' Margo?? She looks very "New Wave" 80s! Was her stylist from Soho?👀 I can't wait to dig into this episode later on. Thank you, @Soapsuds, you've made my Friday! Somebody please ask Hillary Bailey Smith to give us the 411 on this one, I know she probably has a story about the styling on this episode!
  10. Of course, Blanche was talking about sex, not soaps but still, "Share with us, Ron"😉 Would bribes work? Seriously, if you need assistance with equipment or costs associated with transferring to digital media, send us a signal. Maybe soap fans can crowdfund some help to help build a vault.
  11. The bare minimum is what soap fans have come to expect nowadays. Most soap fans would not have 'shipped' Blade and Ashley over Quint and Nola, but alas, Guiding Light doesn't have an official social media account. At least The Doctors has RetroTV, which is reasonably active. Guiding Light (and As The World Turns) has zilch.
  12. Never thought I would see the day when I would read a David Brooks column and see him make an impassioned plea for $4T in spending as a must, but here we are. https://archive.is/B5eJq Per usual, there are aspects of his argument that don't feel right to me but his bottom line, you can't go cheap by undercutting the bill and expect to make the sizeable impact in the lives of the masses of people in need. The bottom line is a meaningful statement, one I can't argue with. Oof, that felt strange.
  13. 😮. That is an absolute treasure trove. Those 80s episodes need to be archived. Honestly, you could start your own version of a Vault! '85 is such a special year too. Julianne Moore's first year on the show, Steven Weber appeared, Marisa Tomei was even still on the show, for a bit. If you even had those fabulous July episodes surrounding the costume ball... Just wow. Maybe you may even have Kim's "Labor Day" episode, that nobody's seen in like...ages! (*Blanche Devereux voice*) "Share with us Ron".🙏🏾
  14. I was in Europe for school at that time, so I definitely didn't see this special. *Gasps* find. them. please! What years, do you remember?
  15. It's so sad that the role that he was most known for, the show on which it aired, is no longer in the air, so the only tributes we'll see are those low-budget YouTube ones. I guess we can always hope that Y&R does a 'Blade Bladeson'🙄 tribute.
  16. Oops, I meant Rick, lol. You're asking for too much, lol. I don't blame Tamara Tunie for shooting down his request. He's a hack, whose had to beg actors to bring their colleagues in. We should be thanking Hillary Bailey Smith, Melanie Smith, Scott DeFreitas, Martha Byrne and Colleen Zenk--they did most of the heavy lifting in convincing colleagues and friends to do these reunions. Locher couldn't have gotten half these folks on his own, PR or no PR.
  17. Thank you for posting this interview. Most actors are usually tiny but anytime I see Lindsey onscreen, I am reminded of how tall she is, and when you think of her Nick, it's no wonder they produced a famous athlete. That Soap Opera Digest cover,🤭. Even though I didn't like that storyline, that cover with Willam Fichtner is cute. I wonder if she'd do any acting again. She has a pretty good voice for V.O. work.
  18. Well dang, this is sad news. Condolences to his loved ones. It has been a year full of untimely losses, hasn't it?
  19. Sloane only gets up for the Williams Sisters, Madison Keys and maybe Vika. Most of the rest of the time, she's half-asleep. Yet, I rarely hear her get told to retire, over and over, which hey, it's her prerogative, like any other player. Just saying, both Williams Sisters were playing consistently high-level tennis with a much stronger competitive field when they were Sloane's age.
  20. Such a talent, gone too soon.
  21. Lemme be the first to say that I am no big fan of Carillon, but she did stand behind her convictions in regards to the Sandgren stuff and she clearly stood behind her convictions in regards to this Zverev scandal. By the way, BTR also has a YouTube channel and the podcast interview is also uploaded there.
  22. Speaking of backlash- I posted this in the "Other Topics" forum, but thought I'd post it here too since a few of us have been discussing Procter and Gamble's lack of appreciation and lack of value for their archives, their daytime dramas, in particular. Well, P+G's lack of value placed on their productions extends beyond their entertainment production archive, but to their actual products. Y'all can argue ball you want about the detritus of the show in it's last few years (everyone is entitled to their opinions) but it can't be argued that P+G is a wasteful corporation that doesn't place much value on the "World", let alone what's on and in it. Just ask the descendants of the company's founders who are publicly slamming the corporation for its dereliction of public duty.
