  1. Gripping episode. PARTY - I see Sister Patterson came for Leslie again. There's gotta be something there. Malcolm's emotion...tug of war with Neil for Moses. I wondered how Malcolm would be with Olivia, being that they were married and raised Nate. Seemed like he brushed her off, which made me think that Malcolm really is not thinking clearly and lost it, and I think that is what you are trying to convey. Malcolm shot Neil in the chest and kidnapped Moses. I liked the back and forth emotion that Malcolm displayed when Moses asked him about Neil. The action continues.. VERDON LOU- This seems to coming to a close. Cane saw James and thought he was hallucinating. You also foreshadowed a showdown between Drucilla and Sheila. And the mystery patient is about to be revealed. GOOD STUFF DUDE!!
  2. A quick moving, action packed show. Really enjoyed the scenes with JJ, Miranda, and Eliza. You've established the triangle, and who we might root for. And you also captured the conflict with JJ So they robbed the gas station!! BAD ASS kids!! LOL Nice interaction with Jesse and Kayla. And you are slowly building their friendship... Derrick has got something up his sleeve. Something tells me he's a swinger. Loved this episode!! The action has picked up, and the music helped to tie all the action together...
  3. ANOTHER WORLD 201 Carl comes home Written by: C. Nathaniel Richardson Consultants: aMLCproduction, beebs, DRW50 HOSPITAL OUTSIDE OF BAY CITY Russ Matthews is removing Carl’s I.V. as he and Rachel prepare to leave. Rachel is off in a close corner by herself. Russ joins her. Rachel doesn’t face him. Russ: Are you okay? Rachel: I just found out my husband is dying. As well as can be expected I guess. Russ: I’m so sorry Rachel. Rachel turns around and sighs nervously. Rachel: It’s not your fault. I’m sure you did everything you could to save him. Russ: We did. I just wanted to make him comfortable. Rachel: These are Carl’s last days. I will make them as comfortable for him as possible. Thank you for everything. Russ turns toward Carl. Russ: So I’ll see you here next week. Carl turns Russ’s attentions to something on the bed. Russ: You removed your chemo port. Carl: No. We won’t be returning to this facility. Russ shakes his head in pensive agreement. Russ: So you two are headed back home? Carl: Yes. Did you get the invite? Russ: Your dinner party? Rachel: He’s gonna make the announcement there. Russ: I’m not too sure if I should. Rachel: We’d really like you to be there. Russ: Bay City’s my home. Carl: I’ve got a question for you Dr. Matthews. A friend of ours had a brain injury in an accident. Rachel: You’re talking about Michele? Russ: I read about that in the Herald. Carl: Yes. Maybe you could examine her? She couldn’t read. Russ: She may not need to. Carl: What are you saying? Russ: Any cognitive functions she learned before the injury that she lost should return. Rachel: She was devastated when she learned she couldn’t read, so you’re saying that it will just...come back? Russ: No doubt in my mind. Rachel goes to Carl and puts her hands on Carl’s shoulders. Rachel: Are you ready? Carl: We have to tell the children. --------------------------------------- CORY MANSION Elizabeth walks downstairs and encounters Cory on his cell phone in the foyer. Cory: You’re not feeling well. Can I bring you something? Chicken soup? What am I thinking? You’ve got maid service at the Love Mansion. Feel better. Cory hangs up and sees Elizabeth. Elizabeth: I can’t believe it. Cory: What do you mean? Elizabeth: You’re dating that scheming lying bitch Bridget. Cory: Not now Lizzie. Cory walks into the foyer and Elizabeth follows. Elizabeth: After everything she did to break you and Michele up, you’re turning around and dating her. I guess she got what she wanted. Cory plops on the couch and Elizabeth sits on the chair across from the couch. Cory: She’s not that kind of person anymore. Elizabeth: She will never change. Cory: She felt bad about everything and it took her a long time to forgive herself. Elizabeth: And let me guess, she leaned on you, and cried on your shoulder. As long as you all thought Michele was dead, she turned on the waterworks, and told you how bad she felt about what happened to her sister. Does that about sum it up? Cory: I don’t care what you think of Bridget. I like her and I’m gonna date her whether you like it or not. I mean even Michele said she was cool with it. Elizabeth purses her lips. Cory: Come on Lizzie. Can we talk about something else? Elizabeth: No we can’t. That skank has got you in her clutches. She was so jealous of her sister. Michele was headed for big things, and to have it all just taken away on prom night because of Bridget. Cory: Michele has been through a lot. Elizabeth: No kidding, and you think she’s gonna come back and be cool with you dating her sister. Cory: That’s what she said. Elizabeth: And you think she means that? Cory: Lizzie… Elizabeth: You really can’t be that stupid. I bet she’s mad as hell. I sure would be. ----------------------------------------------- AT THE MCKINNONS Vicky opens the front door as Michele comes downstairs and manages to stop her. Michele: Mom. Vicky: Hey honey. Michele: Where are you headed? Vicky: I was gonna see your Aunt Marley. Michele: I was there the other day. Vicky: How was she? Michele: She’s hanging in there. I know she’s ready to deliver little Roman. Vicky: Aren’t we all. I wanna spoil my nephew. So happy she’s having a baby. Michele: You know she talked to me...about what happened between you and her before I was born. Vicky sighs as if she’s recalling those events in her mind. Vicky: When she locked me in the basement of the Love Mansion. Michele: Yeah that, but I don’t know why everyone’s so afraid that I’m gonna do the same thing to Bridget. I’m not gonna do that. Vicky: That was a tough time for all of us honey. Michele: I...I didn’t mean to bring up bad memories. If you don’t wanna talk about it… Vicky puts her hands on Michele’s shoulders and looks into her eyes. Vicky: It’s perfectly fine honey. We went through a lot, and even after that we got close again. We’re twins. We’re sisters. We will always love each other, and that’s why I know that you would never hurt your sister. Well I gotta get going so…I’ll see ya. Vicky turns around and there’s Jake . CAMERA PAN ON JAKE...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG --------------------------------- PART 2 Vicky: Uh...hi. Jake: Hey. Vicky: How’s Lindsay? Jake: She’s okay. Vicky: Are you coming to get the rest of your things? Jake: That and...to see our daughter. Vicky: Hmm I wonder if I should stick around. Michele: Oh come on you two aren’t gonna start arguing are you? Vicky: No I just don’t want him accusing you of things that you clearly aren’t responsible for. Jake: I didn’t come to talk about that. Vicky can you leave us alone...please? Vicky: You call me if you need anything. Michele: Sure mom. Vicky leaves, and Jake shuts the door. ------------- Outside the door, Vicky is interrupted by a text on her phone. Vicky (reading): You are cordially invited to a celebration...at the Corys? ------------------ Meanwhile, back inside… Michele: What did you come here for dad? Jake: I don’t wanna argue with you. Michele: No you’re just gonna accuse me wanting to hurt Bridget. Jake: No, not at all. Come here. Let’s sit down. Michele and Jake sit on the couch next to each other. Jake takes a deep breath as he looks into his daughter’s eyes. Jake: You and Bridget changed my life. Michele: Don’t most parents say that? Jake: I used to be a two bit con artist, and a blackmailer. I used whoever I could to get what I wanted. Michele: Blackmail? Jake: I blackmailed Paulina. Michele: Paulina is one of the sweetest people I know. Why did you do that to her? Jake: You remember when we told you about Mac Cory right? Michele: Yeah Amanda and Matt’s dad. Jake: Paulina had just to come Bay City to claim her place in the Cory family, right after Mac died. She was due a huge inheritance, and I wanted a piece of it, so I held something over her head. Michele: And that was? Jake: She shot me. Michele: And instead of going to the police you blackmailed her? That’s gross dad. Jake: That’s the kind of guy I used to be, but when your mother and I learned she was pregnant with you and Bridget, I changed. I wasn’t going to be that person anymore. After you were born; watching you play together; dress alike; go to the prom, I will never be that guy again, because of you and Bridget. Michele: Dad I really appreciate the history lesson but is there a point to all of this? Jake: It pains me to see you and your sister at each other’s throats. Michele: But you’re here talking to me instead of her. Jake: It’s not lost on me what she did to you. Michele: To you, Bridget can do no wrong, and that’s all does. Jake: You’ll understand when you have kids. Michele: Bridget started this whole damn thing with her jealousy. Jake: She missed you when you were gone. Michele: She used her guilt to reel in Cory. Jake: And she’s still your sister, and you love each other. Stop this feud. If you’re angry about what she did--- Michele: Yeah yeah go see a doctor. Talk to Steven. Jake: I love all of you. You, your sisters and your brothers. None of us want you and Bridget to be fighting. Michele turns toward the mantle and crosses her arms. Michele: You’re right dad...none of us do. None of us wanted Bridget to hide my college acceptance letter; none of us wanted her to steal vodka out of grandpa Reginald’s cabinet; none of us wanted her to spike Cory’s punch to get him drunk; none of us wanted Gregory’s car to hit me and cause my brain injury! Michele turns back around and faces her father. Jake: You talked to your Aunt Marley right? Michele: OMG can anything stay a secret in this family? Jake: We all went through that and we are seeing it all over again with you and Bridget. Michele: For the last time I’m not gonna lock Bridget in a basement! Jake: That’s not what I’m saying. Michele: Yes I’m angry, but it happened a long time ago. Bridget is not that girl anymore, and I’m working on forgiving her. I mean you didn’t expect me to just come back and everything was gonna be great. Jake: No, but it’s still there. You need to talk to somebody about it. Look, can you at least think about it? You can’t walk around with this anger. Michele nods her head. Michele: You know what I’ll...I’ll think about it. Jake: I need all of my kids to get along. Michele: Speaking of which, I’m gonna go see my big sister soon. Jake: Lindsay’s gonna need all of our support. Their phones chime about a second apart. Michele gets her phone off of the coffee table and Jake looks at his. Jake: What this? Party at the Corys. Michele picks up her phone. Michele: Is that what it says? Because I… Michele looks at her phone is able to read the text. She smiles with surprise, then quickly returns her look to regular. Michele: Cory’s dad is throwing a dinner party. I wonder what for. ------------------------------------------------- Cory: Well I believe her when she said she was cool with me and Bridget. Elizabeth: You all turned a blind eye to what Bridget did. All that crap that she pulled isn’t lost on Michele. Cory: Why are you so determined to think the worst about Bridget? She’s not that kind of person anymore. Elizabeth: Because she’s not gonna change. She wanted you, and she got you, and she’ll probably do anything she needs to do to keep you. Suddenly, Cory and Elizabeth’s attentions are grabbed by someone at the living room doors. (Play this song on low as you read the following scene) Carl: My darling daughter. Elizabeth: Dad! Elizabeth runs up to Carl and hugs him, but after the embrace, she looks into his face, noticing a bit of a pale complexion. Elizabeth: You look tired, your face...no...no not again. Rachel enters and closes the double doors to the living room. Elizabeth: Mom please tell me this isn’t… Rachel: I think you two need to sit down. We have to talk to you. As the CAMERA PANS slowly away from the living room, showing the four of them through the glass doors, Rachel and Carl tell the children that Carl’s brain tumor has returned, and that it’s inoperable this time. Elizabeth covers her face and cries. Cory shakes his in disbelief. The four gather around and hug, with Carl in the middle. SLOW FADE OUT...END OF EPISODE 201
  4. . JJ/Jennifer/Liam - Very realistic scene here. That Jennifer would not believe JJ based on what he did when he first came to Salem. Very plausible...and I'm really fearing for JJ and Jenn because Liam overheard them, and now Liam knows that JJ is suspicious. Marlena/Sami - I can definitely see Sami trying to avoid the subject with Marlena trying to dig as only Marlena does. Victor/Chloe/John/Nicole - Very in character rant from Victor to Chloe, recalling her history with Brady...and Chloe just took it... Sonny/Will - Sonny finally told Will what he was doing...the beginning of the end perhaps? Sonny has to face the repercussions going behind Will's back like that. GOOD EPISODE....Very simple episode as we got closer to Brady's memorial service, and JJ has put he and his mother in danger...
  5. This Just Paradise train is MOVING. Thanks for the mention of Eric Got me thinking of having Henry paying him a visit to dig deeper into Eric's emotions. You write Henry's character very well.. I can see Henry saying everything you are writing for him. Stefano is using and lying to Greta, just like a soap villain..lol I LOVED the Eliza/JJ/Miranda scene. Eliza spices things up definitely, and both girls appeal to JJ....part of me wonders, though, if he could handle Michele (also played by Denyse Tontz LOL)... Emily and Lucas....what an interesting pair...I could just see the catfights between Kate and Emily, both whores...lol GOOD EPISODE!!
  6. Jack is getting memory flashes...hmmm...interested to see where this goes. I can see you setting up the teen quadrangle... I wonder if Todd and Blair have ever told Sam about his mother Margaret, and where his father Victor Lord Jr is. I wonder if the fact that Todd and Blair aren't his real parents will play somewhat.. Malik/Marah/Danielle is also being set up. Nice scene with Blair and Tea talking about (who else) Todd and Dani. I like how you are establishing triangles and future stories...
  7. This delivered man!! What a well balanced episode with comedy with Sister Patterson and Drucilla, and the darkness of Malcolm and Sheila... I'm starting to wonder if Sister Patterson has a connection to Genoa City. I've waited two years for this moment and it is delivering. Malcolm has completely lost his marbles. Pointing a gun at the woman he raised Nate with, and what a perfect setting for it all to happen... Verdon Lou is coming to a climax...Nobody outsmarts Sheila...not even Mary. GOOD EPISODE MAN!! KEEP IT COMING!!
  8. For those of you who have been following, I hope that my first 199 episodes have been able to capture some the love, lives, laughs, and losses that Another World brought you for 35 years. And now, the 200th episode of my fanfic/blog, BACK TO ANOTHER WORLD Kelley Missal appears as Elizabeth Hutchins Carl reveals all to Rachel PART 1 CORY MANSION Someone rings the doorbell and Cory walks to the door. Cory: Gosh why couldn’t my parents hire a maid? He is surprised to see Elizbaeth at the door. Cory: Lizzie? Elizabeth walks in with a bag. Cory: Don’t you have a key? Elizabeth: Well hello to you, too brother. Cory: You didn’t tell anybody you were coming home? Elizabeth: Dad called and asked me to. He’s throwing a dinner party. Cory: Really? He didn’t tell me about that. What’s his deal anyway? Elizabeth: What do you mean? Cory: Mom’s been worried about dad. Elizabeth: Where is mom anyway? -------------------------------------------------------------------- ROOM Suddenly, Rachel appears and walks in. Rachel: Russ? Carl? What wishes are you two talking about? The two men stay silent. Rachel: Russ it’s been years since I’ve seen you. Russ: You’re still as beautiful as ever Rachel. Rachel: Why is my husband hooked up to these tubes? Russ: Maybe I...should leave you two alone. Carl, it’s time. Rachel: Time for what? Russ walks out and shuts the door. Carl: Darling. Rachel: It’s back isn’t it? The tumor’s back. Carl: Rachel… Rachel: When we were on our way to Kirkland and Charlie’s wedding reception, you mentioned that...we took care of Perry. Perry’s been dead for almost thirty years, but the problem is that we never raised Perry. You also left your laptop open, too. I saw something about a transfer, and then an empty bottle of pills. It all made sense to me. There’s an awkward silence, then Rachel kneels by Carl’s beside and pleads with him. Rachel: Carl please...please tell me what’s going on? Tell me that I’m wrong about what I’m thinking. Carl: About the tumor returning? No darling, unfortunately you’re correct. It’s back. CAMERA PAN ON CARL ...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG. ---------------------------------------------------- PART 2 Rachel gets up, turns toward the door, and momentarily covers her face with her hands, almost as if she’s lost her cool for a moment, but then re-gathers herself. Rachel: Not again. Carl: Yes Rachel. I have been diagnosed with glioblastoma. Rachel takes a deep breath. Rachel: That’s a very aggressive brain tumor. Carl: And it’s inoperable. Rachel: What about a second opinion? Russ should have encouraged you to get one. Carl: I saw the films. It’s there, and it’s growing more and more. Rachel: There’s gotta some type of treatment we can try. Maybe we can to Europe. Carl: Don’t you think I’ve tried that already? In St. Croix, where Evan, my son, was keeping me alive. Rachel: We thought you were dead. Your son robbed us. He robbed Cory and Elizabeth. Carl: He brought me back to you and our children. Rachel: So are you telling me it just came back out of nowhere? Carl: The doctors in St. Croix managed to shrink it, but it never truly went away. Rachel: Was it the...neurotoxin that Janice gave you? Was that the cause of it growing again? Carl: No that had nothing to do with it. Rachel: Carl you’re accepting this. You’re accepting imminent death. Well I’m not going to. Carl: We don’t have a choice. That’s why I’ve been...making things right...for all the terrible things that I’ve done. Rachel: Making things right? Does this have something to do with the transfer? CAMERA PAN ON CARL....SLOW FADE OUT --------------------------------------------------------------- PART 3 Cass puts wood in the fireplace and joins Frankie on the couch. Frankie then snuggles in Cass’s arms, and they both look at the fire. Cass: Who thought we would need firewood this time of year? Frankie: The universe is definitely acting strangely. Cass: Is that what it told you? Frankie: Caaaass… Cass: Okay okay I promise not to make fun of your sixth sense. Frankie: Wouldn’t you agree with me though? Cass: Things have been a bit off. Lindsay’s situation. Frankie: And Carl. There’s something...weird about it. Cass: How so? Frankie: The way he was talking to us. It was like...he was saying that time is running out for him or something. Cass: Yeah I...caught that, too. Frankie: You know in a weird way Carl brought us together. I mean I...don’t condone anything he did to Kathleen, but you and I probably never would have met and fell in love. Cass: And had Charlie… Frankie: We have him to thank for the life we’ve got. Who’da thought he’d turn out to be my father. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Carl: The transfer? Rachel: I saw it on your laptop. What was it about? Carl: I paid them off. Their final payment. Rachel: Paid off who? I don’t understand. Carl: Remember in 1996, when I went to Chicago? Rachel: Yes. Carl: Well I never went to Chicago. I went to Washington, D.C. Rachel: Why? Carl: I turned over evidence to the feds of the impropriety at Charter Elm. Mostly caused by Lucas when he was working for me. He made a lot of enemies. The evidence did not convict everyone. The ones that were left were threatening… Rachel: Oh my God, they were threatening Cory and Elizabeth? Were they in any danger? Carl: No. They were threatening Lucas’s grandson. Rachel: Grandson? Did Jenna have a child? Carl: No, but Lorna did. Rachel: Lorna? Felicia never mentioned a grandchild. Carl: Because she doesn’t know. Rachel: Carl you’re not making any sense right now. Why does this concern you? Why were you paying Lucas’s enemies off? Wait a minute. Is that who you were talking on the phone to yesterday? Carl: I told Lorna it was safe now. As soon as he entered the world, he was in danger. I had to protect him. I had to protect my son. Rachel: Your son? Oh my God. You and Lorna had a son? Carl: Devin Lucas Hutchins. I had Lorna put him into hiding before she came to Bay City the first time. Rachel: After all these years, you couldn’t trust me enough to tell me about him. Carl: It wasn’t a matter of trust my dear. If I told you, you would’ve been in danger. Of course I couldn’t do that to you, your children, or ours. Rachel sighs. Rachel: Is there anything else you want to tell me? Carl: I’m having a dinner party. That’s when I’m gonna to announce to all of our family and friends. I was going to tell you first. Rachel: People are gonna be devastated. Paulina, Vicky, Donna. You’ve had a positive impact on their lives. Rachel: I can’t believe this is happening again. We’re going to lose you all over again. Rachel sits on the bed next to Carl. Carl: You will have all of your family and friends to support you. Russ will be there, too. Rachel: After everything we went through to be together; after all the opposition. Carl: The pursuit. Rachel (chuckling): Yes...New York. Carl: I came after you… Rachel: Relentlessly. Carl: I had to be with you. You made me a better person. After everything I had done to you and Mackenzie, I’m still amazed that you fell in love with me. Rachel: That’s why Amanda was so against our marriage. Carl: I understood it. Rachel: Iris tried to kill you. Carl: But she failed to separate us. Rachel: But your brain tumor will...this time. Carl puts his hand on Rachel’s chest. Carl: Not even death will separate us. Our love will be there. Rachel: In my heart. Rachel leans on Carl’s lap. Carl: Our love will never die. CAMERA PAN AWAY SLOWLY FROM CARL AND RACHEL...SLOW FADE OUT...END OF EPISODE 200
  9. LAURA/SAMI - Sami is doing the mature thing by getting help, but as soon as I thought she turned the corner, she reverts to a familiar form when she finds out about Titan TV LOL JJ/JENNIFER - Soap interruption when JJ attempts to tell Jennifer about what he heard a few minutes earlier. NOW this is moving BRADY'S MEMORIAL Good to see Chloe return. Brady had a very big impact on her life and vice versa. Victor is obviously distraught about his grandson. He had already lost Isabella and now have to deal with this. Gotta be hard for him, but no it's not Chloe's fault about what happened to Brady. SONNY/WILL - I'm glad you are exploring this. TV's Days writers do not hold Sonny accountable for what he does. Going behind Will's back to stop him from getting a job is grimey, and any spouse should not go to those lengths to stop them from making a living (this is a soap so it happens and makes for good story). There needs to be repercussions from this, and I'm looking forward to seeing what those are going to be. GOOD work!!
  10. Interesting episode... Jack's amnesia is driving stories here, and I like to see that in soaps. Todd is now brought into it. The teens are being teen agers...I like the realism you show with them, although I think Anne would have punched the number in her cell phone rather than write it on a napkin. Morris was doing his job, but dang you gon put Jack out of the hospital? He got long money from his adoptive father Harper lol Good use of history with Holden's amnesia..I remember that when he returned to Oakdale... Good one!!
  11. It's good you are instituting a teen scene. It was a lot though at one time...but I still look forward to it. Jack will be living Josh and Reva, and Josh is uncertain. I know there's way more to this story. Ben and Luke's interaction was intriguing a la Paul and Will on Days Of Our Lives. I wonder what slopes they'll be hitting.....
  12. Hope/Aiden - Good opportunity to put them together. I also liked before hand Hope's road rage. Seemed very realistic and your description, as always, was on point. Sami/Laura - I'm glad you are dealing with Sami's emotions about what happened that night when Lucas was trapped, and EJ forced her to have sex so he can get Lucas out. And now she dealing with all those emotions. A grown up move for Sami in getting the help she needs. Victor/Sonny - I could see this play out on TV. Your description of Victor's looks I can completely see, and never took away from the dialogue or told us what happened. And I'm not really feeling Sonny in this situation, and Victor is right. Sonny is going to drive Will away. Will it be to someone else? We'll see JJ/Liam - Uh oh...JJ heard Liam. And of course shady Liam probably has an idea of where Abigail is...and why. I love the way you describe the character's expressions and moods. You find a great way to give those visuals without revealing story or plot. Something I need to do more of on Another World. Good episode
  13. Two big reveals...the new Lily. Meghan Good....hmm interesting choice...I'm wonder what direction you are taking this character... Devon has learned the truth, Nate switched the paternity test to show that Moses was Neil's son when he is Malcolm's son. Little does Devon know that Hilary and Malcolm already know, and that Hilary is the one that told Malcolm. Great setup...Nate and Hilary will be over before it even starts after he learns what she did. Sister Patterson and Leslie. She be coming for Leslie. I'm starting to wonder if there's some kind of connection there. And Philip's family learn that cocaine was found in Philip's system. Chance will figure it all out...hopefully he won't do something reckless.. Good episode!! Looking forward to what's next.
  14. Well what to say...here we go. Hilary got her eyes on Devon. Abby will have another rival, albeit unexpected. I think Sister Patterson balances the episode very well. And her over-the-top-ness fits well. It is almost heartwarming to see her do her thing, and Roxanne's comment was funny. It was very lighthearted and very necessary for this episode because... ....It's starting to unravel a little bit for Sheila. James was gonna do a suicide bombing, and then her treatment of her daughter Mary. Now add Cane to the mix, who's there for some pipes, and they have nothing to do with plumbing. Good to see Philip's family there for him. You know I am pulling for him, and wonder what the next phase is in his life. Terrible ordeal that he went through, and I'm sure it will affect him in some way. Good one!! Balance of light and dark...
  15. You have really embedded your writing style in this episode. Comedy and drama...a good mix, and it fits... I think Avery is trying to do some self preservation, that's why she wants to get head start on Paul, because she, too was snorting coke and enabling Cane, and now Cane is out of control..and headed to Verdon Lou. I see new friendships forming...Daisy and Rox, now Abby and Hilary, all based on their disdain for Roxanne. Sister Patterson's campiness is becoming very welcome, mostly because I know she fits your style. I like to see it. And...Karynn...all she can think about is her smokes and beer. I'm a bit disappointed in her, but I think deep down she loves her brother. And who is Lauren applying makeup to? Good episode
  16. Very deliberate paced episode.... Henry/Paul/Barbara - Nice that you brought Henry to town, and he is disapproving of the restart of BRO. Funny seeing these three, who all have a connection to Eric in my version of Another World (Paul and Henry are his older brothers and Barbara is his sister in law lol) Nice tender family moments with JJ and Jennifer. Just every day son/mother interaction. Billy and Paul bonding over drinks in a casino, and yes I immediately thought of Billy's gambling history, and you did, too....great job!! What kind of business is Katsu running? Looks like a trafficking/laundering operation. Up to no good. And Stefano seems to know something about Bo's whereabouts. I'm glad that you left it ambiguous about whether Stefano is actually involved in Bo's disappearance. Nice job!!
  17. Looks like the music at the end is going to be a staple of this show...and I like that you are building an identity. JJ/Miranda - these two look really sweet together and great capitalization of history by using their music backgrounds to bond...brilliant. Greg/Marcino - These two seem very close, and beyond the gay relationship that I see brewing, I see depth and it makes it more meaningful....i like. Barbara/Paul/Emily/Eliza - I like the snarkiness between Barbara and Emily. True to their interactions that they always had, being that Barbara never ever liked Emily, and never ever will. And I immediately wonder what Eliza and Barbara have cooking for Ms. Stewart Ali/Kayla - Good to see Kayla reach out to a young abuse victim, being that Kayla herself was raped. I wonder what more there is to Ali. Why is her boyfriend beating her? Why is she accepting it? This story is very realistic and poignant. Domestic abuse will always be an issue in today's society. Jesse/Angie/Natalia - Natalia is okay and Jesse tells her what happened. Is there more to what happened to Natalia? Was she targeted on purpose? Was the gang just a front for someone who really wants to get Jesse? Maybe the guy who kidnapped Cassandra and sold her for sex? Keep up the good work!!
  18. ANOTHER WORLD 199 Rachel discovers Carl’s secret Written by: C. Nathaniel Richardson Consultants: aMLCproduction, beebs, DRW50 CORY MANSION A fully dressed Carl buttons up the last button on his shirt, then he looks over at a sleeping Rachel covered in a blanket. He walks over to her, kisses her on her forehead, and leaves. Rachel, however, was not sleeping. She immediately opens her eyes and throws the covers off of her. Not only is Rachel not sleeping, she’s fully clothed. Rachel stands up and flashes back… (EPISODE 181) Rachel: I wonder how she got away from us. Carl: We were careful. Rachel: We left her only for a few minutes. Carl: It reminds me of when you and I took care of Perry. He was an adventurous lad. We had to watch him every single second. If we turned our backs, he would disappear. Rachel flashes back to the present. She notices Carl’s laptop open. She turns it on and sees the “transfer complete” notification. She then notices an empty container of pills in a wastebasket. She picks it up and notices that it was prescribed to Carl Hutchins. Rachel: I’m gonna find out what’s going with you Carl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Later...AT A HOSPITAL OUTSIDE OF BAY CITY.. In an exam room, Carl is connected to an IV talking on his cell phone. Carl: My darling daughter. I have never called Frankie that. How’s school? I was wondering if you could come home. I’m throwing a dinner party. A family gathering. Good. I’ll see ya then my dear. Russ walks in looking at his phone, which has Bay City General Hospital’s job site on it, but he presses a button, the screen goes black, and he puts it in his pocket. Carl: Dr. Russell Matthews. Anything interesting on your phone? Russ: I could have asked you the same thing. Carl: I was talking to my daughter Elizabeth. I’m having a dinner party, and you’re welcome to come. Russ: I don’t know if I… Carl: It wasn’t a request Russell. I’m gonna need you there. Everyone else is gonna be there. As soon as press send on my phone, everyone should have their invitation. Russ: Including Sharlene? ------------------------------------------------------------------- HUDSONS HOUSE Sharlene opens the door and Frankie walks in. Sharlene: Hey you. Frankie: Hi. They hug and Sharlene shuts the door. Sharlene: I haven’t talked to you in a while honey. How are you? Frankie: I dunno. I mean I should be fine right? My daughter’s a newlywed. Cass and I got back together, but for some reason all the pegs don’t quite fit. Sharlene: Is it Christy? Frankie: Surprisingly no, not this time. Sharlene: Wow you seem really bothered by this. I know what time it is for you. Frankie: Chamomile please. ---------------------------------------------------------------- AT THE BLAKE’S Felicia is sitting at her laptop desk in the living room staring at the wall, and Mitch walks in from the bedroom. Mitch: You barely slept honey. Felicia: Wow how can you tell? Mitch: Not only that, you’ve been sitting at that desk and your laptop’s not even open. Mitch walks over and massages her shoulders. Mitch: You made a hard decision, but you can’t let it eat you up. Your business choices have nothing to do with your friendship with Rachel. She’ll understand. Felicia: I didn’t want to hurt anyone. KBAY offered such a sweet deal. I couldn’t say no Mitch. They’re going to do a worldwide marketing campaign. That could lead to more movies and more book deals. Mitch: But… Felicia: I hated turning down Matt and Amanda. I remember when they were kids. I remember Mac, you know? Now they’re struggling to keep his company afloat. Mitch: Maybe it’s...time for them to move on. Felicia: What are you talking about? Mac built that company from the ground up. Mitch: I know, but all good things… Felicia: I can’t believe you would even say something like that. Rachel is one of my best friends. When she finds out what I’ve done, she’s gonna deeply hurt. Felicia gets up from the chair and walks away. Mitch: Listen why don’t we go to the Center for a while. Might make you feel a little better to get some fresh air. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CAR Rachel puts it in park. Rachel: A hospital? What’s Carl car doing here? CAMERA PAN ON RACHEL...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART 2 Sharlene and Frankie are sipping teas in Sharlene’s living room. Frankie: This might have been what I needed. Sharlene: I love chamomile tea. Calms my nerves. So what’s got you all worked up? Frankie: Cass, Charlie and I just came from the Corys. Sharlene: You saw Rachel? Frankie: Yes we...we went over the accounts of that night...that night of Josie’s shower. Sharlene: The night you were attacked by Fax Newman. It really is a miracle that you’re here. Sometimes I still can’t believe I went out with that man. All the while he was a cold blooded killer. Frankie: I’m kinda glad we...all got to hear it. It’s all out in the open; all on how I survived that night. Sharlene: You know Josie was very devastated about what happened. She loves you very much. Frankie: Charlie took it surprisingly well. Sharlene: It’s really the first time you’ve told her about it right? Frankie: Yeah but she asked an interesting question. Sharlene: About? Frankie: Where I’ve been all this time? I stayed away from Bay City for years. Sharlene: Well Cass decided to marry Lila. You stayed away because you wanted Charlie and Cass to be happy. Frankie: There are some things that I left out. Sharlene: Frankie are you in some kind of trouble? Frankie: No, nothing like that. I didn’t tell them that I planted that bogus story about Anne O’Donnell representing Newton Fairchild. Sharlene: Why did you do that? What are you hiding from your family? Frankie and Sharlene get alerts on their phones and they pick them up. Sharlene: This looks like an invite. Frankie: I got one, too. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- AT THE CENTER Mitch and Felicia walk slowly arm in arm… Mitch: See they got the roof open. Smell that fresh spring air. Felicia: Yeah, you always had that knack. Mitch: For what? Felicia: For making me feel better. I can’t lie though. That was one of the toughest decision I've ever had to make. Mitch: And you don’t have to explain it to anyone. Not me, not Rachel, nobody. Business is business. Felicia: A part of me does hope she’ll understand. They stop walking and Mitch faces Felicia… Mitch: Stop worrying your pretty little head about it. I have a feeling everything’s gonna work out the way it’s supposed to. They kiss. Meanwhile, from a short distance, Christy watches them. Suddenly, their cell phones chime and they look at them. Felicia: I’m invited to a party. Mitch: So am I. Felicia: You got the same thing? Mitch: Carl is throwing a party at the Corys. ----------------------------------------------------- Russ sighs. Carl: What’s going on? Russ: I um...saw the results of your last MRI. Carl: Let me guess, it’s growing. Russ: Yes...really fast. Carl: So how much...time do I have left? Russ: Have you gotten all of your affairs in order? For your children? Your wife? Carl: How much time...Russell? Months? Weeks? Days? Russ: I can’t narrow that down. Carl: We all know I’m dying of a brain tumor that’s growing every day. Russ: Carl I’m sorry. I really wish there was more we could do. Carl: I know what you can do for me. You and Rachel used to be pretty close. Russ: We were married. Carl: Look after her. Please. She’s gonna need your friendship after I’m gone. Russ nods his head in agreement. Russ: I’ve heard a lot about you Carl. Carl: I surmise that most of it is negative. Russ: Yes mostly, but that’s not what I’ve seen from you. You’re nothing what people said you are. Carl: Rachel changed my life. She made me a better person. Russ: Funny thing is that’s not the Rachel I used to know. Carl: She’s a devoted mother, friend and wife. Russ: I’m sure she told you the reason she and I got married. Carl: Jamie. Russ: I thought he was my son, but he turned out to be Steve Frame’s. Carl: Did you love her? Russ: I’m always gonna care about Rachel. I’ll...I’ll honor your wishes. Suddenly, Rachel appears and walks in. FREEZE FRAME ON RACHEL...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG
