Sheila vs Stephanie, B&B Brooke vs Stephanie is of course B&B's big rivalry, but it was all too often a little lopsided, since Brooke deep down wanted Stephanie's approval. Sheila on the other hand was an adversary that could seriously rattle even Stephanie. Of course this was before Sheila was watered down like she is now. At her peak she was an outstanding villainess. I don't think anyone can play menacing as good as Kimberlin Brown.

In all the excitement about Christmas I totally forgot the 50th anniversary of the final episode of Upstairs, Downstairs. It first aired on 21 December 1975. It was a beautiful end to a wonderful show. The only thing that annoys me slightly is that neither Elizabeth's nor Hazel's voices were heard when Rose walked through the empty house at the end. They were important figures in Rose's life at Eaton Place, so it would have been fitting if she had remembered conversations with them.

Disgraceful by CBS! Who knew it would be so easy for the "free" press to capitulate and sell their soul. Too bad for them that it won't be so easy to regain the trust of the public. I hope it was worth it since they practically cancel themselves with this spineless behaviour.
