  1. I see your point, and I agree. I just think that the story should never have been written, whether it was a re-write or planned all along. Being a re-write did make it worse, but Brad Bell should steer clear of this kind of story regardless, because he doesn't have the writing skill for it. ETA: And with the way the story unfolded I don't understand how anyone can say that it wasn't a re-write.
  2. Does it really matter if it was a re-write? The story should never have been written in the first place. This show has a very bad track record with stories like that and Brad Bell is not a good enough writer (to put it mildly) to be able to pull it off anyway.
  3. Where's the famous British humour? Where's the romance? We need something to break the seemingly endless misery that engulfs this show. It makes no sense for instance why they cut the growing relationship between Belle and Kammy out of the blue. Or just ended Gabby and Vinny after everything they went through. It's like they're afraid of happiness. That it would somehow lessen the show, when in fact it would only enhance it. What I wouldn't give to have Betty, Pearl and Edna back sitting in the Woolpack, gossiping about everything and everyone while providing some much needed humour. A show that goes from a serial killer to domestic abuse to the death of a teenager to father/daughter sexual abuse to a multiple victim car crash to another murderer to blackmailing and assault to drug dealing and forced teenage prostitution is not exactly what I would call entertaining.
  4. They've barely had any gay characters before, so my guess would be no.
  5. Has any soap had such a long period of depressing, dark storylines as Emmerdale? Ever since the 50th anniversary, and frankly even before that with Meenas reign of terror, it feels like there's been nothing but misery, tragedy and disasters, one after the other. We get enough of that watching the news so it would be nice to get some reprieve watching a fictional show.
  6. I just love big trees.
  7. It's amazing how music can have that effect on you, isn't it?
  8. These movies were definitely not without flaws, but the musical score was not one of those.
