  1. Why was he allowed to speak her name?
  2. Days of Our Lives, of all the long running soaps, probably has the least amount of success stories, but when they do they don't [!@#$%^&*] around.
  3. Isn't Gary Tomlin part of the directing team these days? With his experience, maybe he's taking over for Valentini?
  4. I know he has his detractors, but I've always loved Rick Hearst. It was so easy for me to always root for Ric against Sonny/Carly and he had great chemistry with Becky Herbst and Nancy Lee Grahn. However, I hope that TPTB won't end up punishing him for being able to get one over on them in the past.
  5. The Crying Game (1992) - Only three things take away from this film for me: 1) My ignorance about world issues regarding the IRA. 2) The casting of Forest Whitaker. I don't know if that's an unpopular opinion, but his horrible accent partly took me out of his scenes. And 3) I already was vaguely aware of the twist because AdamTGhani has posted about it before on his Insta, and I watch everything he posts. And not for nothing, I kind of clocked Dyl right away anyway. Still, the action mixed with the sincere tenderness was inspired. Having both the worlds of Fergus/Jimmy be so separate until they crash into each other was perfectly timed. Stephen Rea and Jaye Davidson deservedly got nominated for Oscars, and Miranda Richardson was sexy, dangerous, and unlike Whitaker, her change of accent is flawless.
  6. The Misfits (1951) - This film was right up my street. Of the few Marilyn Monroe films I've seen, this one seemed most close to home to who she was and what she had to deal with from men and society. Clark Gable should be proud this was his swansong, though how eerily impactful that he died so shortly after a film about characters who've lost their way in life. There's a scene in the film where he's drunk and publicly cries out desperately for his grown children who by chance saw him at the same bar and immediately escaped him when they got a chance because he'd always been a deadbeat that is really confronting and disturbing because of how one usually conflates the idea of Clark Gable, the ultimate leading man, to being strong, dependent, but turned into a reckless, worthless, fool. The ending is a relief. Highly recommend.
  7. In addition to this hopefully being the end of Leo, in connection with wanting the show to not be written as a joke, I also hope we never have to see Rolf again either. We haven't seen him since November, but it's always a scary time when it comes to Halloween to see what stupidity Carlivati will force upon us.
  8. It'll be interesting to see if the Day of Days promo will feature any material from the new HWs or not.
  9. Weird to think that by the time his last episode airs, we'll be 3/4 months into The Gates.
  10. Oh, but how funny this news was announced on the anniversary of his first credited episode.
  11. Even though I hated the majority of his work on this show, he should be very proud to have lasted 7 years. Even creating your own soap hasn't guaranteed some Head Writers that long of a tenure. I loved Paula Cwikly's previous stint. She and Peter Brash were only fired in the first place because their stories allegedly were too expensive for the budget. Their only strange choice was the Gemini twins initial introduction, but I ended up liking both Rex (only Eric Winter's portrayal) and Cassie. I'm still pissed Higley retconned them to be Roman/Kate's kids. If they had been allowed to continue as Head Writers for a longer stint, I think the show would be in a much healthier place than it is now. I just hope her and Ford choose to write this show for adults again. I beg.
  12. Amazing! Why isn't there a GIF of that moment? Still, it's really cool to see her on these classic episodes.
  13. Kind of impossible for it to be January 1963 when the show hadn't even debuted yet.
  14. The legend, Bob Newhart! Bob Newhart, Dean of the Deadpan Delivery, Dies at 94
  15. Barton Fink (1991) - This may be strange to some, but this was actually my first foray into seeing the work of the Coen brothers. It was fascinating to see John Goodman in this movie knowing it came out during the height of Roseanne. He was the best part of it, IMO. Michael Lerner getting an Oscar nomination over him seems strange to me. I had no idea where the film was going, so the twist with Judy Davis' character and the way the rest of the movie plays out really jolts you to pay attention to the craziness that then unfolds. And who knew this was the original "what's in the box?" A facetious remark referencing "Seven" that amuses me. Writer's block is no joke, man.
  16. Oh, of course. I was more trying to get into the heads of what the PTB could be thinking. Could even be that GH could legitimately be potentially on the chopping block.
  17. I wonder if history could repeat itself and The Gates will run with B&B for 5-6 months before B&B is ultimately cancelled like what happened with Passions/Sunset Beach.
  18. Knowing nothing, I'm assuming Korte will get a chance to prove herself on her own and these horrible ratings were blamed squarely on Mulcahey, which leads to the question of, how long will Korte get to prove herself. I mean, I know I have no faith in her, but it'd be interesting to get into the mind of whatever person is responsible or hiring/firing HWs/EPs.
  19. Unfortunately, the new Sugden is allegedly being paired with the insufferable Aaron Dingle.
  20. Absolutely adored her. BH90210, Heathers, Charmed. Such a wonderful actress. I'll miss her a lot.
  21. I'll always love my man Pasquale, the singing Italian Chef! Always so comforting, like watching your Nonno make dinner. Was he known in the US? An episode:
  22. It's all mentioned/listed on Jason's site. Whatever Julie/Victor did or didn't have happened earlier in the 90s.
  23. They got married for the third and final time off-screen in 1993. It was first mentioned they had done so when they returned later that year on Christmas Eve.
  24. It's been almost three months said we heard anything concrete. I'm gasping!
