  1. After winning a Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal as Mike Corbin on “General Hospital,” actor Max Gail will next be seen in the Friday, April 1 episode of CBS’ “Magnum P.I.” The actor will portray Bob Braddock, a terminally ill veteran who bonds with Magnum (Jay Hernandez) while the investigator is volunteering at the No Veteran Dies Alone Program. Magnum hopes to reunite Bob with his estranged family. Entitled “Remember Me Tomorrow,” the episode also finds Higgins (Perdita Weeks) in a complicated situation when 12-year-old Ella (Hala Finley) asks for help cracking a triple homicide that involves her mother. Since exiting “General Hospital,” when the character died after battling Alzheimer’s in September 2020, Gail returned on multiple occasions as a ghost version of the character who’s appeared to his son, Sonny (Maurice Benard), and others during their time of need. Earlier this year, Gail also appeared in an episode of “Chicago Med.” Gail took home the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Mike Corbin on “General Hospital” in 2019 and 2021, respectively. “Magnum P.I.” airs Fridays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. 2. Roman Polanski may have been expelled by the Academy in 2018 but he was awarded an Oscar in 2003. He had already fled the country after pleading guilty to rape of a minor in the 1970s. He also had other accusations against him from that period.
  3. Daytime newcomer Michael Blake Kruse has joined the cast of “General Hospital” in the newly created role of Rory, a rep for the soap has confirmed to Soap Opera Network. Rory is a new recruit at the Port Charles Police Department (PCPD). While a first airdate has not been announced, Kruse recently revealed on his website that he begins a “recurring role in a long-runny, Emmy award-winning television series” in March. Reportedly, Kruse is on contract with the soap, however, the show does not comment on actor contracts. In addition to “GH,” Kruse’s other acting credits include a guest-starring role on “Grey’s Anatomy” for ABC and appearances in episodes of “Criminal Minds” for CBS and “Strange Angel” for CBS All Access (now Paramount+), among others. He’s also had a supporting role in several Lifetime movies, including “Dead in the Water,” “The Ugly Christmas Sweater” and “Christmas Harmony.” The actor/model has appeared in several commercial and print spots for Lexus, Amazon, Sony Playstation, McDonald’s and EA Sports, among a multitude of other brands. He also did voice work for the Netflix series “Control Z.” He recently wrapped filming on an unknown studio film. “I’m low on the totem pole and out of the loop but I believe this was my last day working on this film,” said Kruse on Instagram last week. “It took nearly 15 years before actually landing a role on a studio feature. All of my terrible auditions were worth this experience. I pray my work serves this project – and makes the cut. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.” Soap Opera Digest first reported Kruse’s casting. 4. Tabyana Ali made her daytime debut on the Friday, March 25 episode of “General Hospital” as Trina Robinson. She replaced Sydney Mikayla in the role and is appearing on contract with the soap. In her first scenes, Ali interacted with Brook Kerr who plays Trina’s mom, Portia, and Réal Andrews who plays Trina’s dad, Marcus Taggert. Moments before Trina appeared on screen as played by Ali, Portia and Taggert were discussing the recent Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Cameron (William Lipton) drama and whether it was a “sex tape” or “revenge porn.” In reality, they were most concerned about their daughter being accused by Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) of being the one to not only film the video itself but to also have been the one to share it on social media. The accusation has caused a rift between Trina and her friends. Cameron and Josslyn have since filed a police report on the matter with the hope that the person responsible gets caught. Considering Esme is the one behind everything, it’s only a matter of time before she gets found out, or, if she covered her tracks right, the wrong person will take the fall from a legal perspective, too. In follow-up scenes, Trina walks into class at PCU (Port Charles University) where Josslyn and Cameron had been conversing. After exchanging a few words, the group hugs it out before Cameron leaves to give Trina and Josslyn some time alone to talk. During their conversation, Josslyn reassures Trina that she doesn’t blame her for anything and they both know that Esme is behind everything. While she’s not sure if Esme intended to film her and Cameron having sex, Josslyn is sure that Esme ultimately wanted to draw a wedge between her and Trina. Sadly, by the episode’s end, Trina and Josslyn are interrupted by Commissioner Ashford (Tanisha Ashford) who tells Trina she’d like to have her come in for questioning over the tape after she received a tip that could place Trina as the culprit. In an Instagram story, Ali was asked what it was like shooting her first scenes with Kerr and Andrews. She said, “It was amazing! They honestly made it so easy for me! I always enjoy working with them.” Asked if she was nervous at all, Ali said, “Of course! But it was the ‘GH’ cast and crew that made me feel at ease!” Watch some of Ali’s first scenes below and let us know what you think of the storyline in the comments. 5. If you tuned into the Monday, March 21 episode of “General Hospital” wherein Molly (Haley Pullos), TJ (Tajh Bellow) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) had dinner at the Metro Court with Shawn as he was preparing to leave for an extended business trip you might have forgotten that Shawn’s portrayer, Sean Blakemore, recently announced he would be leaving the daytime drama series less than a year since returning on contract. “I appreciate you and ALL my wonderful supporters!” Blakemore told a fan last month on social media. “I was absolutely NOT let go. It was my decision to exit the show because of other obligations.” The show nor Blakemore has commented on the matter since then, but on Blakemore’s last day, the official Twitter handle for the soap did share some behind the scenes pictures of the actor posing with co-stars Pullos and Bellow. “The future’s looking bright for Shawn and his entire family,” read the caption for the post. While Monday’s episode marked the final appearance by Blakemore in the role, at press time there were no known plans by the show to recast, meaning that Shawn’s quick business trip could become permanent which isn’t surprising since he left Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) in charge of his media empire in Port Charles. Blakemore joined the cast of “General Hospital” in 2011, playing Sean Butler on the soap until 2015. He won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2016 for his portrayal. He reprised the role for one episode in 2016 for a prison scene, appearing with Steve Burton’s Jason Morgan and Kelly Monaco’s Sam McCall. The character was doing time in Pentonville for shooting Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig), a crime he didn’t commit and was wrongfully convicted, albeit not many knew the truth at the time. 6. “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Sean Kanan (Deacon Sharpe) will be the keynote speaker at the 2nd Annual “Oneness” of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania event that promotes and celebrates diversity and unity. The theme for this year’s event is “You Can Get There From Here!” which references residents who were born, raised and educated in Lawrence County. This includes Kanan who was a former Neshannock Township resident before relocating to Los Angeles. “The theme is directed toward our children,” said event organizer Michele Perelman, who is working with multiple community leaders in putting together the event. “It is a concept to not only recognize Lawrence County residents who have grown up and been educated here, but also who have gone on to other areas to do great things while still recognizing their hometown roots, or who have stayed here to plant roots and help our community.” In addition to Kanan, New Castle resident Shawn Anderson, Jr. will be there as a guest speaker. They will be among the inaugural group to be recognized. In addition to his speaking duties, Kanan will also be on hand for a meet and greet with fans at the free family-friendly event that includes activities, food, crafts, fun, and inspirational speakers that the entire family will enjoy. 7. It’s at 10 o’clock in the only hand y’all get to see. The other got cut off… 😜
  8. That wouldn’t work since the show is available to such a large international audience. One of the big selling points to international buyers is the show being a half hour. It’s easy to slide into slots. This is why any new soap or reboot has to be a half hour with the amount of episodes it would need to produce each year. Any “exclusive to Paramount+” content would be exclusive to another buyer internationally as well for their streamers.
  9. Seems you’re one of the few who got to watch it. It’s no longer on Paramount+, at least not from where I can see.
  10. This is true! Olivia needs to come back to Genoa City just so we can have her grab him by the ear and send him back to med school.
  11. Seeing as he's a doctor, I'd at least expect him to investigate how a dead corpse is suddenly alive. If THAT's not job worthy I don't know what is. Besides, other than operating skills, what business skills does he have?
  12. Whoever wrote today's episode Googled "things a business owns" with that convo between Lily, Billy, Nate and Devon. I can't.
  13. I have so much to say about this but I just can't comment. I'd get in trouble. Haha. Happy to have Mealor back though.
  14. Right? I thought the phone in his hands was a great tie in for the article. 🙃
  15. After being pushed back due to a preemption late last month, the 35th anniversary episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful” has been pushed back again after CBS News broke in with coverage of President Biden’s press conference. “B&B” had aired just under two minutes of the special episode before a countdown clock appeared on-screen informing viewers of the special report. Due to the preemption, a repeat will air on the West Coast in place of today’s original episode. The 35th anniversary episode will instead air in full tomorrow, March 25, barring any further last-minute schedule changes. President Biden appeared at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium during the NATO summit and discussed the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The special standalone episode is dedicated to Brooke Logan (original cast member Katherine Kelly Lang) and five of her true loves. Fan favorites and former cast members Jack Wagner, who played Nick Marone from 2003 to 2012, and Winsor Harmon, who played Thorne Forrester from 1996 to 2016, return for this can’t-miss episode. Original cast member John McCook (Eric Forrester), and veteran cast members Don Diamont (Bill Spencer) and Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) are also featured. Check out a teaser below. 16. With the success of “Days of our Lives” spinoffs, “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem” and “Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas,” for Peacock it’s not surprising that the other soaps are might want to hone in on something similar for their respective streaming homes. In an interview with executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell, TV Insider recently sat down with “The Bold and the Beautiful” mastermind questioning whether fans might see more of the Forresters and the Spencers outside of the daily broadcasts on CBS. Turns out, that possibility could become reality in the near future. “Yes. We’ve had conversations with CBS and Paramount+,” Bell revealed to the publication while discussing the show’s 35th-anniversary episode, which will air tomorrow, March 25 (after a national preemption today). “That’s something we’ve been considering. We’re not in production just yet. I’m sure the day will come when we do something specifically for streaming.” With “B&B” airing a standalone episode dedicated to Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and five of her most memorable loves, it wouldn’t be too hard for the soap to come up with something that could stretch into a five-episode limited series or two-hour movie for Paramount+, as “DAYS” did for Peacock, and it would be the perfect vehicle for the soap to gain even more international recognition as it continues its reign as the world’s most-watched daily serial. 17. With word that “The Young and the Restless” is currently in the process of recasting the role of Summer Newman (last played by Hunter King) while nothing was made of a recast of Kyle Abbott, it was widely expected that actor Michael Mealor would soon be reprising the role. Turns out the actor has not only returned to the daytime drama series but he’s back on contract, too! According to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, on newsstands tomorrow, the actor is back just in time for the big reveal that his character’s not so dead after all mother, Diane Jenkins, is not only alive but she’s being played by Susan Walters once more. Walters played the part from 2001-2004, and briefly returned in early 2010. Meanwhile, Kyle last appeared on “Y&R” just a few episodes back via a Zoom call with his father, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), wherein he learned that his half brother Keemo had died and the family was only just learning of the news while also gaining a new Abbott member via Keemo’s daughter, Allie (Kelsey Wang). “Of course, I’ll always be back when they call,” Mealor said to Digest last year, citing his love for the show and working with the people he’s worked alongside all these years. Making his “Y&R” debut in 2018, Mealor most recently appeared in an episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” for FXX. An official on-screen return date had not been revealed at press time. 18. If you tuned into the last couple of minutes of “The Young and the Restless” on Wednesday, March 23, you would have either been shocked or questioning the relevance of the scene as “Taylor Jensen” walked in, appearing as the potential buyer of Allie’s (Kelsey Wang) house. Depending on how long you’ve been watching the daytime drama series your eyes probably popped out seeing someone that looked very familiar or you didn’t think too much of what was happening. Either way, the entrance will have rippling effects on what’s to come in Genoa City in the weeks and months ahead. First things first: “Taylor Jensen” is really Diane Jenkins in disguise. The character last appeared on the soap in 2011 as played by Maura West (now appearing as Ava Jerome on “General Hospital”). Ironically, at the time Diane was embroiled in the center of a murder mystery arc for which she was the victim, making her return to the canvas with Susan Walters reprising the role very mysterious. When Walters was asked about that in an interview with TV Insider she said, “‘Yeah. Wasn’t me who died.” So does that mean the show will be ignoring that story altogether? We’ll soon find out as the story progresses. Note: Walters played the part from 2001-2004 and briefly returned in early 2010 before West took over later that year. Leading up to the big reveal, the soap shared a promo last week that told viewers to “brace yourself” as a woman is shown texting Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Now revealed to be Diane, Walters says her return to the soap was a surprise. “You know how voice texts can mispronounce words? I got one that said, ‘Hey, this is Tony Morina from ‘Wine Art’—not ‘Y&R.’ I didn’t pay much attention to it as Tony [‘Y&R’s executive producer] wasn’t there 20 years ago when I joined, but we had met since,” recalls Walters to TV Insider of the initial call she received asking her to reprise the role. “At first I ignored it, but then I listened to the message. I told Tony later, ‘What if I hadn’t listened to that message?!’ He said, ‘Well, we would have reached out to you again.’” Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS Thankfully that didn’t happen and now Diane is here to stay! Check out the promo below as the soap briefly recaps Diane’s bad girl history, particularly in her dealings with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). 19. Considering his character has been name-dropped by both Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in recent episodes of “General Hospital,” albeit for different reasons, it’s only right that Damian Spinelli made an actual on-screen appearance on the soap, right? Well, just before appearing at last weekend’s “General Hospital Convention” in Burbank, actor Bradford Anderson revealed he’ll soon be back in Port Charles after spending a couple of days at the show’s Prospect Studios. In a photo shared on Instagram, Anderson appears outside of the show’s studio with the caption, “A lovely few days at Prospect Studios.” No additional information about his return was revealed in the post. Since the show has quickly inserted actors into scenes in the past, depending on the storyline, Anderson should appear on-screen as early as April. But don’t be surprised if it happens sooner. Anderson has been portraying Spinelli on “GH” off and on since 2006. In between appearances, the actor has guest-starred on episodes of “Homeland,” “Minority Report,” “Castle,” and “NCIS: Los Angeles,” among others. He’s currently co-hosting the “Stone Cold and the Jackal” and “That’s Awesome” podcasts alongside “GH” alum Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan).
