ARTICLE: ‘The View’ Marks Multi-Month Highs Among Key Demos & Total Viewers, Lifts ‘GMA3’ & ‘General Hospital’ – RATINGS
Need To Know ABC’s daytime lineup, consisting of “The View,” “General Hospital,” and “GMA3,” marked or tied season highs among the key sales demos, with the ABC News programs in particular hitting season highs among Total Viewers. Despite a minor week-to-week drop among Women 18-49 (0.21 rating vs. 0.24 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.34 rating vs. 0.36 rating), “The Young and the Restless” hit a new season high among Total Viewers (2.992 million) and took back the No. 1 spot among soaps in Women 18-49, leading No. 2 “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital” (0.19 rating, tie). Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Whoopi Goldberg During the week of December 1-5, 2025, ABC’s “The View” attracted its largest overall audience in eight months (since March 31-April 4, 2025), with 2.598 million viewers tuning in, and its best performance among Women 18-49 (0.27 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.41 rating) since the 2024 presidential election week (November 4-8, 2024). The increased viewership for the chatfest had a halo effect on the rest of the ABC daytime lineup, with “GMA3” seeing its best performance among Women 18-49 (0.18 rating) since the week of February 10-14, 2025 and best among Women 25-54 (0.24 rating) since the week of March 3-7, 2025. Additionally, the ABC News program attracted its largest audience since the week of February 17-21, 2025, marking a new high among Total Viewers for the rebranded third hour of “Good Morning America,” which launched in June (previously titled “GMA3: What You Need to Know”). Amanda Setton, Giovanni Mazza After coming down just a bit in the key demos one week earlier, “General Hospital” once tied its season high among Women 18-49 (0.19 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.27 rating), tying for second place among soaps with “The Bold and the Beautiful” among Women 18-49 (0.19 rating), and topping time slot competitor “Beyond the Gates” in both demographics. Speaking of “Beyond the Gates,” the soap opera fell to 12th place among Women 18-49 (0.14 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.23), tying its season low in the latter, and falling behind “GMA3” for the first time in both categories. The CBS soap has also fallen behind former time slot holder “The Talk” among Women 18-49 for the eighth time in the 11 weeks thus far into the 2025-2026 television season. That said, “The Talk” was winding down with its 15th and final season during the comparable week last year. Meanwhile, the new drama series continues to attract a significantly larger audience among Total Viewers, this week up +324,000 viewers compared to the year ago performance of “The Talk” (1.593 million vs. 1.269 million). The soap opera also jumped +142,000 viewers from one week earlier, when a repeat was factored into its weekly average. “The Young and the Restless” once again set a new season high among Total Viewers with 2.992 million tuning in, an increase of +15,000 viewers over last week, and marking the long-running soap opera’s most-watched week overall since the week of August 4-8, 2025. Additionally, the drama was back on top as the No. 1 soap among Women 18-49 (0.21 rating), leading No. 2 “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital” (0.19 rating, tie), and was also No. 1 among the four network soap operas in the Women 25-54 demo (0.34 rating), despite minor week-to-week declines in both demographics. Wrap-Up What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of December 1-5, 2025 among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including week-to-week and year-over-year comparisons. I truly do not know what CBS was thinking about including that repeat into Beyond the Gates' weekly average. It would have otherwise been a decent week for the show.

Yes, publicists accompany the cast to events like those. That's their job. Doesn't change the fact that CBS had nothing directly to do with any of the events themselves. Of the two publicists you listed, Noelle, sadly, was one of those let go at CBS. Dio remains and works alongside SmithHouse.

I wouldn't say that at all. Publicist ≠ marketing/promotion in the visual sense or on social media. CBS itself manages the show's social media and runs the campaigns you see on TV, etc. The publicist can only set up interviews with cast/crew, send out press releases and work alongside marketing/promotion on campaigns. SmithHouse does not handle any of CBS' socials or their overall promotion campaigns. They, however, send out campaign materials to the press when available. Think of it this way: Y&R and DAYS created new YouTube channels because neither CBS nor Peacock was interested in sharing the content on the official channels already in place. B&B does the same for their YouTube channel, though they primarily post full episodes there, while the CBS Brand Channel hosts promos and clips that are taken offline within days of posting. P&G is a marketer and advertiser looking to reach the masses with its products. Doesn't really have anything to do with CBS when they do those live/in-person events.

Paramount's recent layoffs following Skydance's formal acquisition impacted Beyond the Gates, with two of the show's three publicists let go. SmithHouse, which handles publicity for CBS' daytime lineup, primarily The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal, and plays supporting roles with The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, took over publicity last month for Beyond the Gates with the remaining publicist continuing in their role. That said, CBS pulled back on marketing and promotion of its daytime lineup in December 2023. Beyond the Gates was fortunate to receive any promotion this year simply because it was new.

It was likely a last-minute decision to air a repeat on Wednesday, considering only two original episodes aired that week, particularly as 103 and 104 (aired on Thanksgiving Day) are so closely tied to each other. As a result, at least three originals are expected to air during the week of December 29-January 2, 2025. CBS is airing College Football on December 31, 2025, preempting its daytime lineup, particularly Beyond the Gates, with the game beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET.

ARTICLE: ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ Top Soap Among Women 18-49 & Women 25-54, Sets New Season Highs – RATINGS
Need To Know Ten weeks into the 2025-2026 television season, “The Bold and the Beautiful” was the top soap among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.38 rating), setting new season highs in both categories and among Total Viewers (2.667 million). Other shows setting season highs in various categories include both half hours of “The Price is Right,” “The Young and the Restless,” “The View” “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “TODAY with Jenna & Friends,” among others. “Beyond the Gates” set a new series low among Total Viewers (1.451 million) due to CBS factoring in the Wednesday, November 26 repeat broadcast (Episode #103) into the show’s weekly average. As expected, NBC’s annual telecast of the “National Dog Show” was the most-watched and highest-rated daytime broadcast program during the week of November 24-28, 2025 with 12.8 million viewers tuning in, following the network’s telecast of the annual “Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Day Parade” (25.4 million). The special dedicated to awarding the best of the best among our furry friends was up +500,000 viewers over last year’s telecast and was virtually on par year over year among Women 18-49 (3.33 vs. 3.39) and Women 25-54 (3.55 vs. 3.66). Drew Carey Hosted by Drew Carey, “The Price is Right” was once again the top regularly scheduled program with both half hours leading the way across the board. The second half-hour marked a new season high among Women 25-54 (0.59 rating) and Total Viewers (4.511 million), while the first half-hour set new highs among Women 18-49 (0.33 rating), Women 25-54 (0.56 rating) and Total Viewers (3.967 million). Among the four network daytime dramas, “The Young and the Restless” marked a new season high among Total Viewers (2.977 million) and tied its season high among Women 25-54 (0.24 rating). Compared to one week earlier, the long-running soap opera was up +0.06 among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating vs. 0.18 rating). That said, “The Bold and the Beautiful” outranked its lead-in among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating vs. 0.24 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.38 rating vs. 0.36 rating), marking season highs for the half-hour soap opera, which also set a new season high among Total Viewers (2.667 million). After last week’s season highs, “General Hospital” came down just a bit, falling behind “Beyond the Gates” among Women 18-49 (0.16 rating vs. 0.17 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.22 rating vs. 0.24 rating), with the ABC drama tied for second-to-last place among Women 18-49 and second to last among Women 25-54, only ahead of “GMA3” in both demographics. While “Beyond the Gates” tied its season high among Women 18-49 and saw its best performance overall in six weeks (since the week of October 13-17, 2025), the CBS drama marked a new series low among Total Viewers due to the inclusion of its Wednesday, November 26 repeat broadcast of episode #103. “TODAY 3rd Hour” (2.282 million) and “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” (1.677 million) both saw significant gains among Total Viewers, up +318,000 and +360,000, respectively, from one week earlier. Wrap-Up What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of November 24-28, 2025 among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including week-to-week and year-over-year comparisons. Note*: Figures under the 2024 column for “Beyond the Gates” are compared to the performance of the former time slot occupant, “The Talk.” “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” is compared with the performance of its predecessor, “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.” “GMA3” is compared with its predecessor, “GMA3: What You Need to Know.” Additionally, 2024 comparisons, particularly Households and Total Viewers, were unavailable to this publication for most daytime broadcast shows, unlessed stated otherwise, until at least February 2025. When you first brought it up, I thought you were talking about something completely different. Didn't realize you meant the banners themselves were too big (the font size). Glad my recent adjustments were more in line with what you were actually referring to; I had been looking into how to make the images smaller, which would require a lot of CSS/coding. Phew, saves me so much more time. Thanks!

It's the standard layout for Invision. I explained why I'm using it above in response to @Soapsuds . Please keep in mind that while not every design is acceptable or appreciated by some members, I have a job to do: keep this place online. My time, energy, and resources have been largely wasted over the last couple of weeks, despite some enthusiasm from a few posters about the updates. I can't afford to continue letting this place drain me financially without making changes wherever and however I can to grow the community; otherwise, it'll have to shut down in 2026.- SON Community - Major Software & Design Updates

Scarlett Spears, the eight-year-old actress who is currently making waves in Hollywood with roles on “General Hospital” and “Wicked: For Good,” is opening up about loneliness in the latest episode of “State of Mind with Maurice Benard,” premiering Sunday, December 7 at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT on YouTube. In a remarkably candid conversation with Maurice Benard, who also plays her TV dad on “General Hospital,” Spears opens up about loneliness and fear of silence, telling Benard about what makes her sad. “Yeah, sometimes it would make me sad if I’m being ignored… I just don’t like being alone… like being in my bedroom… it scares me when I’m alone and I’m like ignored.” She adds, “Whenever I’m playing with my dolls… I’ll ask my dad to turn the TV on, and when I hear voices, it feels like people are actually in the room with me… I just don’t want it to sound like silence.” “This is a mental health talk with an eight-year-old. It’s amazing… You have to be comfortable in the silence,” says Benard in response to Spears’ revelation. “Now that I’m thinking of it, I am getting that way, that I don’t need the TV anymore to keep me company… Something I like to do in silence is draw because I can actually think [for] myself,” reflects Spears. “You’re smart for your age… I didn’t think we would have this conversation,” shares Benard in response. Watch the clip below. Spears can be seen in “Wicked: For Good,” the wildly successful film starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. In the movie, Spears portrays a young Glinda. Meanwhile, on “General Hospital,” Spears appears in the recurring role of Donna Corinthos, the daughter of Sonny (Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright). Launched in July 2020, “State of Mind with Maurice Benard” focuses on mental health and mental health awareness. The podcast is hosted by Daytime Emmy Award winner and New York Times bestselling author (“Nothing General About It: How Love (and Lithium) Saved Me On and Off General Hospital”) Maurice Benard. Following each episode’s release on YouTube, an audio-only edition is later made available to all major podcast platforms, including Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Apple and Google Podcasts. Greg Vaughan has been a prominent fixture of daytime television for nearly 25 years, having played several key characters across “The Young and the Restless,” “General Hospital” and “Days of our Lives.” Still, it’s his new role on “Beyond the Gates” where he gets to come alive, playing his first original role after having previously portrayed recasts. Beginning Monday, December 8, Vaughan makes his debut in Fairmont Crest as Dr. Kial Rollins, a widower and father of two grown adult children, both male, and an orthopedic surgeon. Kial (pronounced like Kyle) is athletic, personable, and spontaneous. After his wife died a few years ago, Kial became a traveling physician, allowing him to explore the country, experience different cultures, and meet interesting people. Kial has romanced women, but hasn’t met the one who could get him to settle down again – will a blind date change his mind? Kial’s game to find out. Family Life, Move to Texas & Connecting To AtlantaThat said, filming “Beyond the Gates” in Atlanta rather than Los Angeles marks a big adjustment for Vaughan, though he says, “It’s really only been the best for me and where my life is right now.” Greg Vaughan “Pre-COVID, I moved out of Los Angeles, so then I was on ‘Queen Sugar’ in New Orleans, and so when the shutdown happened and all that … and then I was living on the East Coast for a bit, and then I moved to Texas four years ago, four and a half years ago, and then let me tell you, I can get to Atlanta much faster than I could to L.A., but the beauty with getting to L.A. is I could literally leave the same day and be on set at nine in the morning,” Vaughan continued, referring to the time difference between Texas and California. “At 7:00 a.m., it was 5:00 a.m. there in L.A., so I could fly in and land around 8:15, 8:30, and be on set at 9:00 a.m. every day. And it gave me that window, just like for me, it was great. I could sleep in the comfort of my own house and make sure my kids were at school. Everybody was good.” As for Atlanta, Vaughan loves the area, particularly because it’s not far from the University of Alabama, where his eldest son, Jathan James Vaughan, attends as a freshman. “For me, I’m less than three hours to get to him. So if I got a day off, I’m like, ‘Hey, you want to go to dinner? You want to go to lunch? I’m coming.’ But sometimes I’m more excited than he is. He is like, ‘Dad, I’m busy. I got to be at my house. I got a fraternity party that night.’ I’m like, ‘I’m your father.’ He’s like, ‘I see enough of you already. You come in every month.'” Welcome to Fairmont Crest, Kial RollinsWhen offered the role of Kial on “Beyond the Gates,” the only thing he knew going in was that his character would be a doctor. Since then, Vuaghan notes, “Kial is a widower of two adult young men, and he’s a traveling orthopedic surgeon. So he’s a bit of a nomad, to a sense, because as a widower, he’s just trying to, not only, I mean, he’s a father. He has two young men who are trying to find their paths in life. So he’s been rooted in this world that he wants to share with his partner in crime. And so not having that mirror extension of yourself, it’s kind of like he’s dove into all his work, and along the way he’s made new friends at medical conventions and stuff like that.” Revealing what brings Kial to Fairmont Crest, Vaughan says, “[Kial] gets called to come to Fairmont Crest to be at the hospital and runs into one of his old friends from a medical thing, wherever those doctors go or those conditions. So that opens the door for friends and acquaintances, and it just becomes this little turnstile. It just opened up. And so he travels. He’s not there all the time. He does leave, but he’s not rooted there. He doesn’t have roots there.” While there will definitely be some characters Kial interacts with more consistently, Vaughan shares that his first day of filming included spending the entire day with more than 20 cast members for 15 or 16 hours, which isn’t surprising given that the WinterFest celebration currently taking place marks his introduction to the canvas. Greg Vaughan Though he’s recurring on “Beyond the Gates,” Vaughan is looking to spend as much time on the show as the producers and writers allow, including if that means establishing the Rollins family as another foundational family like the Duprees. “Wow, that’d be a legacy family name,” responded the actor when asked about the possibility. However, he says, “That’s something you’d need to talk to [series creator, head writer, executive producer and showrunner] Michele Val Jean about.” Ditto for why the show opted to spell his character’s name differently from the traditional “Kyle” spelling. At present, Kial’s children will not be joining him in Fairmont Crest, though Vaughan emphasized that the two males are within the college age of 18 and not the older 25+. While that could change down the road, considering the ages of the current crop of young adults, it does make one wonder where they might fit in if and when the show chooses to write them in formally, and who they might interact with. That said, considering the diverse canvas, there is nothing currently stated about the race of either child, with Vaughan clarifying, “There is nothing established. I have mentioned them in conversation, and at some point, I do feel that they will be brought to the show. I hope so. That would be great. I mean, to actually introduce me, I mean, I’m a father of three boys, and it works great. There’s a lot of mixed race on the canvas already, so that hasn’t been a conversation that Michele and I, or anybody else, have had.” Fresh And NewWhile not on contract at the moment, that could change in the future. “Yeah, it was something I think they wanted to see,” says Vaughan, referring to establishing his character first. “I think this is the show, as we all know, and something I’ve already said that ‘Beyond the Gates is so fresh and new, but it just feels like… I mean, I’ve done primetime, nighttime television and daytime, so it just feels like I’m going to set, but I’m surrounded by a lot of people, and it is so different. It’s not something that’s got a 60-year timeline. It doesn’t have 14,000 episodes. This is 200 plus.” “They just got their pickup for 250 episodes,” adds Vaughan, talking about the show being picked up for a second season, which begins airing in early 2026. “I think Michele just wanted to put in this dynamic and weave it into her amazing quilt of this show that she’s cultivated. She’s got this world going on, and however my Kial Rollins intercedes and leaves seed, or whatever, to make more children and maybe a family name would be great. I don’t know.” Ultimately, Vaughan shares that while things remain undetermined for now, for him, the excitement and professionalism are all there. “They’re just getting, I mean, like I said, my first two days, it was like 14-hour days, I think 15-hour days. And I was like, ‘Wow.’ They were like, ‘We have to push things.’ They’re not for it. We live under such a thumb and the tight budget, they’re very restricted of how much we can’t go over. This is a hardworking group, but nobody shows if they’re tired or not. They got smiles on their face, they’re excited. They’re like, ‘Wow.’ They love big moments that are happening. I’m just like, ‘This is different, I haven’t felt like this in 10 years!'” Kial: The RomancerAlthough he couldn’t give much away about Kial’s upcoming blind date, Vaughan did share, with a smile on his face, “It’s going to be magical. I mean, I’m just letting sparks happen wherever, and if they happen, they happen. I’m just letting it settle out.” Greg Vaughan, Daphnée Duplaix Core DifferencesAs for how his character on “Beyond the Gates” differs from his previous soap roles, including Diego Guittierez on “The Young and the Restless,” Lucky Spencer on “General Hospital,” Eric Brady on “Days of our Lives” and even Calvin on “Queen Sugar,” Vaughan points out, “Lucky and Calvin were both cops. And then Eric was a photographer, then found God in faith and became holy, then became a priest, then became a photographer again after he was denounced and defrocked. So this character is brand new. It’s not a recast. It’s the first time [I’m originating a role], and Michele gave me that freedom and just said, ‘Greg, I want you to do this. I want this to be yours.'” “I was given such freedom,” basks Vaughan. “And also because of my experience in daytime, I think it was very well respected. I’ve been just given this environment to come in and be me, and without really direction in a way that’s not, that it’s not being offered, because I’ve been on sets that were just like, ‘Hey, here’s the notes, here’s your blocking.’ There were past ‘Hey,’ conversations about your choices, or we’re doing what we’re trying to gain here. What are we setting up? What’s the path?’ [Meanwhile], this has become like, ‘I love what you’re doing. Just do you.'” Growing TalentWhile several of the show’s cast members are new to soaps, Vaughan’s being a veteran isn’t going to his head. He points out that there’s no, “See, that’s a professional. This is how you do this job. That’s why we have Greg V on the show,” noting he’s “not that guy.” He does, however, feel validated compared with previous experiences. “I’ve been so validated in so many ways that it gives me reason to do what I do, and I love what I do. I show up to be my best and let that person be their best when they have to be.” During his time at “General Hospital,” Vaughan reveals that some of the young talent on the show at the time were always at their best, and the same can be said of some of his younger co-stars at “Beyond the Gates.” Julie Berman, Greg Vaughan “I’ve seen such young and vivacious risk takers on this show that I’ve only seen twice happen before: Julie Marie Berman [ex-Lulu Spencer] was the first, and then Natalia Livingston [ex-Emily Quartermaine] from ‘General Hospital.'” Vaughan adds, “When I saw Julie, as she was the first girl who played Lulu, I was like, ‘Did y’all see what I just saw? I’ve seen that twice already on ‘Beyond the Gates.'” Unsurprisingly, Berman and Livingston each won a Daytime Emmy Award for their roles on “General Hospital.” Vaughan later took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2018 for his role on “Days of our Lives.” “They have really found some really, really powerful talent. And I’m just like, ‘Wow, this is, and everybody, I kid you not, what is being scoped and presented to the audience, to the viewer, about ‘Beyond the Gates’ defies by leaps and bounds, everything, and it just mirrors everything that ‘Beyond the Gates’ is interior. They laugh, they smile, they’re happy. So dig in.'” Why Fans Should Tune In“I’m a fan of ‘Beyond the Gates.’ I’ve become a fan of a man who hasn’t seen, or I’ve witnessed by watching, or by being present,” states Vaughan, when asked why fans from all the shows he’s been on and should find their way to “Beyond the Gates.” “I’m very excited about what is being written, the storytelling that is being shared, that is being cultivated, and all these families, no matter just the conflict, rejoice, and when they come together, and I mean, it’s a beautiful show,” continues Vaughan. “It’s really pretty: costumes, the set, the talent. This is a very unique and special show that’s happening, and I’m just very glad to be a contributing thought to that I could bring value.” “I love each and every one who supported me and appreciated the work that I’ve done over the course of many shows that I’ve been on,” continues Vaughan. “But I know that they will love this show, and because they watch it, we have the opportunity to keep making this magic.” While there might be some detractors, and he’s become aware of them, Vaughan says, “A lot of people, I mean, I’ve heard stories where people are like, ‘Why?’ And then it’s like, ‘Hey, I’m going to make people rethink, tune it in a little different, I’m ready to reshape something, a narrative.'” Note: The post ‘Beyond The Gates’ Newcomer Greg Vaughan: “I Haven’t Felt Like This In 10 Years!” (EXCLUSIVE) first appeared on Soap Opera Network.
