GL: Kreizman Quote...

Not trying to start a board war again between GL fans and those who are disgruntled with it...but I just want to know what some of you think about this. This is an exact quote from David Kreizman, Head-Writer of GUIDING LIGHT. This conversation was featured in GL: LITE for "Baby Daddy"---

"Yeah, I don't get a chance to watch everyday..but I DVR it and I at least fast-forward through, you know and watch what I need to watch. But I always watch the Wednesday shows and I certainly watch enough to keep up."

I still like, GL, don't get me wrong, but what does this say about the show if the Head-Writer doesn't watch it every day? What IS he watching? GENERAL HOSPITAL? His clock? Passengers on the subway? A writer should never be too busy to look at his own damn work!

This makes no sense to me. I would assume that ANY HW would want to see how his material plays out on-screen so the team can make necessary adjustments, see which scenes are going too fast and too slow, so the next story arc can be flawless.

Your opinions?

I totally agree.

But--but he DVRs it! That has to count for something!

Asshat. Listen, Kreizman, if we can bother to watch your [!@#$%^&*] everyday you can watch it too. God forbid I compare you to Speilberg but imagine if he made a movie and didn't bother to watch the final product (but made sure to let us know he has it on tape!). It's stupid and a failure on your part. Do better.

Doug Marland's #1 rule on how not to wreck a show:

Watch the DAMN SHOW!

"but I DVR it and I at least fast-forward through"

LMAO.

Ah, thanks for the laugh Bellcurve.

And so do the millions of GL fans Kreizman. You silly monkey-necked bastard.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE ARE NO WORDS! If I were a soap writer, I would watch my show two or three times a day. I'd be in love with it slash obsessed with it. I'd masturbate to it.

That is DISGUSTING!

I would do the same.

This pisses me off beyond words!!!!

A headwriter should watch what is going on every single day. I don't know, consider it I don't know "revising your work." I mean how dare he go on record and quote this, if does not care enough about the show he's in charge of why should we care enough to watch it.

I mean come on a writer and should take that one hour each and everyday to watch their work to make sure it's clicking, the chemistry is there or something!!!!

God do they not realize the position they are in!! I would kill to have their jobs and they treat it like [!@#$%^&*]!!!! Damn you!!!!

I'm so pissed!!

To look at it at a different perspective..maybe he thinks the stuff he's putting on air are what viewers wanna see but not necessarily what he wants to see...

...but still. If he's bored by let's say, Coop & Ava (who get waay too much airtime for their own good), maybe he should either 1) Stop featuring them so much or even better...2) Just put an end to such a godawful pairing.

I will forever praise Kreizman for being able to deal w/ controversy for the sake of good storytelling (Jammy) but that statement has lost him some respect from me. GL is still the best soap on air, IMO...but there are a lot of things that could be improved.

Can't say I blame him for not watching all the time... but he's the yutz who's writing the show! And he can't sit through it? YIKES. I don't think I've ever seen a headwriter quoted that admitted they don't watch most of their own show.

 I'm sure other HWs are guilty of the same thing.

If anything, I give credit to Kreizman for having the guts to be honest. <_<

I didn't dislike him really until I read this. Now THIS combined with the fact that nothing is really keeping me at GL on a daily basis anymore, I want hime GOOOONE.

By the way, while we are discussing GL. I just read in SOD that Reva needs a bone marrow transplant. I thought she had BREAST cancer, not something like lukemia! Usually, the treatment for breast cancer is either chemotherapy, radiation, or a mastectomy, where they surgically remove the entire breast.

It's not even an hour, ff would bring it to less than 40 minutes. ATWT clocks in around 37.

Yeah, if you can't take 40 minutes to watch your show, you deserve to be stuck with Coop and Ava. If he was watching, he'd sure rethink some of those Wednesday eppys.
