ATWT Tragedy: Benjamin Hendrickson has passed away...

I wonder if this is why he hasn't been appearing recently when he should've been there. Things like Will's graduation and Emily's crazy, he seemed to disappear on the show recently. I guess I can count out my hopes for Barbara and Hal reuniting.

You're right. He was only in 2 episodes in June, and that was really REALLY low, compared to his usual numbers. I had a bad feeling that something was wrong, but I convinced myself that it was just a vacation or something.

I've never posted here before, but when I heard the news about Ben earlier today, I decided to look at some of the sites for ATWT. Everyone's heartfelt comments about Ben have had me crying for the last hour.

I went to Juilliard with Ben in the very early '70's. He was a hard-working, extraordinarily talented, tenacious, funny, intelligent man. Besides being a fellow classmate, he was involved with my best friend for several years, so I also got to see how wonderful he was to women. Ben's heart belonged to the stage, but his second home was in daytime, and partucularly ATWT. It is incomprehensible that he is really gone.

My main reason for posting tonight was to let you know that your genuine love for Ben and your kind thoughts do not go unnoticed. The world today is computerized, and everyone is online. You are honoring Ben every bit as much as any memorial service or funeral will do. Thank you.

Thank you so much for posting. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we are all praying for his family and friends. I couldn't imagine losing one of my classmates, currently or thirty-five years later, so I won't even say that I know how you feel. All I know is that one of my favorite actors has died and from the looks of it, he was a great person as well.

Wow, just...wow. I'm in absolute shock! This is awful news! :(

But now that I look back, things were kind of noticable for a while on ATWT. Hal was hardly on this month. I was wondering why they wrote him off on Will's graduation and Johnny's illness. There were also rumors that he was really sick. :(

Still, what a shock. It hasn't sunk in for me at all yet. I think it will once they address it on the show. I hope that they don't re-cast Hal. I know that they've done it in the past, but I never liked it. They could definitely do a funeral like GH did for Lila when Anna Lee passed away.

What makes it a million times worse is that on ATWT Jen is dying. It just seems so eerie that they had one of Hal's children pass away on the show. I was hoping that this storyline would set way for a reunion between Hal and Barbara, or even a triangle w/ Susan. Now, it doesn't seem like any of that's going to happen. :(:(

What a beautiful thing to say. Ben Hendrickson touched anyone who ever watched ATWT- the fans of the show & of Ben will forever remember him. This truly is an immense loss for anyone who's life he touched. Thank you so much for that little bit of insight into his life and sharing your memories of him with us. It's greatly appreciated.
