Is this playing on tv anywhere? Is it on DVD, anyone know? I haven't seen it since PBS aired the old shows back in the 80's (that's when I got hooked).

It's on DVD. I think they're beyond 20 collections now, I'm not sure.

Congratulations to a true cult classic. Gone long before it's time!

I think the final episodes are gonna be released on DVD soon. And then they're gonna go back and finally do the pre-Barnabas episodes.

I watched it when it origanlly aired and watched it on the Sci-Fi channel a few years ago. I wish Sci-Fi would pick it up again!

I'm a big DS fan, wish Sci-fi would show it again or some other cable channel would pick it up.

Will always be one of my favorite shows of all time.

Happy Birthday Dark Shadows! :)

I have the first three collections and I LOVE this show! Julia Hoffman was a very interesting addition to the show. Love that the supernatural element is in a normal setting. I don't like extremely over the top sci fi shows where it's not in a real world. The scares from this show come from these being real people who seem to be in the dark about things.

OMGosh, it can't be that long ago! I feel so old. :) I didn't start watching it until I heard the buzz about it at my high school. There was talk about a "vampire" and he was "sexy." I tuned in immediately after hearing that. Believe me, it was irresistable.

Happy Birthday, DS.

Did anyone else ever notice how much she blinked? I remember sitting and watching everyday and counting the amount of times she blinked. It was insane! (the excessive blinking AND my counting of the blinking.)

Yes I notice that she was a blinking fool. What a freak show. I watch back in the day. My grand daughter is named after one of the characters Anqelique.

I loved how there was a small little group of terms that DS used a lot:

"Fond of" - when someone is close to someone, they are said to be "quite fond of" that person

"Gone mad" - when someone loses their damn mind, they're said to have "gone mad"

"Sedative" - when someone "goes mad," Julia gives them a sedative

Oh, and I loved how everytime someone knocked on a door, we heard three hard knocks. Even if it was someone like Maggie or Victoria, we still heard three hard knocks that sounded like Barnabas or Professor Stokes.

I think every character on DS said the line "I don't understand."
