Griffith couldn't focus too long on any character not named Phyllis or Victor.

Sally is the same character as Chloe/Chelsea/Audra.

Just what CBS soaps need, another offscreen university! I guess they collab with Vernon teaching Zoom classes, all referred to over drinks at Society or Orphey Gene's. Such amazing synergy!

  • Joshua Morrow has found that happy medium between six pack and dad bod.

Because the exit has not fully played out yet on American episodes. There is still more to air.

It felt like once Kyle Abbott was aged up, he was the preferred character over Noah Newman (and even Fenmore Baldwin). That's when things changed. And when Michael Mealor left, that's when they brought in Rory Gibson's Noah. Once Mealor returned, there was no need for Gibson or Noah.

One actor younger than seventy is more than enough for the show, right?

For Griffith? Definitely.

The name Sally Spectra really annoys me for this random girl. Imagine B&B's Dylan being called Katherine Chancellor.

The current Sally Spectra character on Y&R originated on B&B and the dialogue/actions onscreen for both Y&R and B&B showed her moving from Los Angeles to Genoa City.

The current CourtneyHope-SallySpectra's origins on Y&R began in 2017 when B&B tried to do a tribute to several of the old Spectra clan and Spectra employees -- by bringing onto the canvas as younger generations, similarly-named characters as tributes to their predecessors.
In 2017, B&B brought in Patrika Darbo to portray
DarleneSally's sister Shirley Spectra.
Courtney Hope's Sally is the granddaughter of Shirley and thus
Courtney-Sally is the grandniece of Darlene-Sally.
B&B also brought in character Saul Feinberg II, grandson of DarleneSally's friend-tailor the original Saul. And they brought in a receptionist character "Darlita", who was not related to anyone; but the Darlita character was named as tribute to original B&B character Darla who was DarleneSally's assistant.
And they had the original C.J. Garrison portrayed by the original B&B actor, as the building owner for the new Spectra Fashion house.
They later brought in a teen girl "Coco Spectra" who is CourtneySally's younger sister.

B&B made this big deal about reviving Spectra Fashions with all these characters with similar names, with a full fashion business that was scrappy with limited finances, cheap stuff, and shady dealings -- trying to be great fashion, trying to compete with Forrester Creations. Then almost all of those characters were removed from B&B a year later! Bill Spencer wanted to own the Spectra Fashions building property, so he arranged some arson and the Spectra building burned down. The Spectra business could not recover after the fire, so most of the characters left.

Only character remaining on B&B canvas was CourtneyHope-Sally. With her grandmother Shirley appearing rarely via Patrika Darbo giving advice via video chat.
CourtneyHope's Sally did a "pretend-dying" scam on Wyatt Spencer and then left Los Angeles in 2020, when that was discovered. Then she resurfaced in Genoa City on Y&R.

Courtney's Sally was more interesting on Y&R when she first arrived as a fashion designer who was scrappy and underhanded, but also had talent. Then they neutered her into a bland corporate executive.

Sally sucks. Send her ass back to B&B. She doesn’t even really fit the vibe of this show. I see her more as a B&B girl.

Sally on Y&R > Sally on B&B, easily.

Thanks. Still don't understand why a random B&B character with an iconic name should be part of Y&R. Her LA past has nothing to do with her Genoa City stories, never did and I hate the idea of Billy Abbott being involved with a random woman named Sally Spectra. If TPTB at Y&R loved the actress so much, they should have hired her for a new role. BTW I am not that crazy about her.

So Victoria and Nikki are discussing the trip to Italy with nary a mention of their Tuscan Villa that was the site of Ashland and Victoria's wedding. At that time it was firmly established that this was a Newman property, not a rental.

Which, back then, had a lot of us scratching our heads as to why Josh did this, knowing the villa had never been mentioned before and probably wouldn't be used again.

But of course the Newmans had to be the richest people in the world. Renting a villa would have been more logical. Now even Josh has forgotten about it.

And bringing over Sally was dumb. Courtney could have been a new character.

Per the report of her joining as Sally:

“We really enjoyed Courtney’s work on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL,” Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith said in a statement. “Sally Spectra is a colorful character that fans love watching. We are excited for her to stir things up in Genoa City and join our talented cast.”

And to be honest, Sally works more on The Young and the Restless than she ever did on The Bold and the Beautiful. Unlike Linsey Godfrey's Caroline Spencer, Courtney Hope's Sally just never felt right.

At present, Sally is a DUD on Y&R. She's sad and morose and lethargic, and her personality has been drained from her.

She is nothing like the spitfire they brought over from B&B.

Who they inexplicably positioned as a love interest for Jack. Another Josh triumph. Then of course in true Y&R tradition she was passed around the Newmans and Abbotts.

With Wyatt back at B&B, Sally needs to return ASAP. I used to love the character , but now (mainly because of her pairing with Billy) I find myself not caring about her.

I suppose if you're a Newman, you can come and go out of rehab whenever you wish. It's not like Nick won't be able to see his parents get married again someday.

Pretty much every female character is a dud right now if we’re being honest. They’re all getting the Avery treatment (just vanilla and dull). Wasn’t JG the one who pushed Avery to the forefront? Why does he like to write boring women?

With the exception of Phyllis, no female on this show is allowed to have a personality.
