Nicole and Joey's 1:1 was the highlight of today's episode followed by a nice surprise appearance from Caroline. And I see that Tomas had a bit of expression on his face.. miracle of miracles.

Dani/Vanessa was a waste of a scene.. but we all need filler.

Hayley needs to learn about doing things on the DL.

There was a main room, with the entrance and the reception desk. And behind the desk, there was a smaller exam room that was just divided by a curtain.

Now that BTG has secured a season 3 & 4, I'm going to need the show to spring for a dining room/table for the Duprees. I have a hard time believing that an illustrious, cultured Black family with alleged "soul" doesn't have big soulful (with drama) dinners, at least sometimes. And no, the country club doesn't count.

As for today's episode. I got nothing.

Same. I'm honestly shocked. Though I was just about to say they don't use the foyer much anymore...for it to turn up last week.

The Abbotts on Y&R have a dining room. Surely the Duprees can do that.

"Edge of Night" (ultra-low budget in the 1980s) had an office set for Dr. Miles Cavanaugh. There was a little "waiting room" with a reception desk, and a small office for Miles where he treated an occasional patient. I believe they spent $1.86 on the set. That's about all "Beyond the Gates" would need for their Invisible Free Clinic. They could keep their plasma in a cooler in the office. (With inflation since 1980, it would probably cost them $8.50 now. But they blew their budget putting graffiti on Rashad & Smitty's brick wall.)

I would love a dining room for the Duprees. I know they have Rowena to do the cooking, but even a kitchen would be nice. I loved seeing Ellie in the kitchen pouring herself some coffee or the Ewings having conversation in the kitchen or breakfast out on the patio on Dallas. Not sure it would make much sense since it's only Vernon and Anita who live there and Kat for now.

We've just seen the motel where Jacob is living. That was a decent size. So there is some space to incorporate some additional sets. Wish we understood how it all works.

Set decoration is a separate issue and there need to be some fixes there as well.

At least the Judge Judy GIF is getting a rest...

Here's an idea. Maybe post a response if you disagree with another poster. So there maybe can be discussion and healthy debate. Or just ignore.

I'd be genuinely interested to know why you think the idea of different/extra sets is laughable.

IMO, you were spot on about all of those set ideas.

To me, sets aren't that important. I don't care if the Dupree's have a dining room table, or if Naomi has an office. Those things aren't that important to me.

To me pacing is the biggest issue and working on some of the dialogue so it seems a bit more consistent from episode to episode should be the focus over if the Dupree's have a dining room table or not.

Thanks for the response. And I totally get that. But I am a bit of a set nerd !

And I agree there are other issues that are just as important - it all comes down to the writing. But it's a visual medium.

They do a great job on the whole with costuming and to me that really adds to the enjoyment. I just don't think the sets are at the same level.

I agree that TV is a visual medium, and I see no problem in wanting this show to do better. I don't think it's fair to reduce your argument to "focusing on a dining room table." The Duprees are all about family, and sharing food and conversation woul be second nature -- more than going to the country club for every meal.
