TJ got an off screen phone call from Curtis!!!!

OMG!!! Get out! Frank actually remembered he exist?

He's slightly less boring and pointless than Sasha.

He was also easy on the eyes with a nice bounce.

We basically watched the character grow up on the show even with the various recasts, some that were actually quite good. It’s just crazy to send him Up to the attic and have to watch Molly move on like her 10 year relationship never mattered so she could date someone 20 years older than her and have a teenage relationship again.

ALL OF THIS.

See my profile pic for an actual obsession.

Hehe. A great obsession though cuz she is THAT GIRL.

It's just very lazy he just disappeared.

Oh so lazy. Especially since there was real potential for him when he abruptly vanished. And it's still a missing link in the Molly/Cody stuff and will always get side-eye for the pairing due to how he abruptly vanished.

I think it's also an example of the show's poor treatment of their black cast.

Same.

Agreed. They also threw away a character that was a doctor and we need more of them, not less.

Also this.

GH gets a lot right, but the treatment of the Black cast is eye-rolling at times. We don't need to care about TJ to see how he was erased from the canvas. Or how he barely mattered in a story about his own child.

Speak on it! Same.

It's very difficult to think of a Black character on GH who's been given good writing.

Vinessa Antoine's version of Jordan? Or Trina once upon a time.

Steve is a quirky dude, but he, and Bradford, look great. This is an interesting watch to get their perspective post-Steve's break. He talks about his ideas of a Jason 2.0 and Sonny 2.0 in this era. They talk about Nathan being Cassius. Bradford asks a good question - did Obrecht know she had twins?

I did find it interesting when Steve said the writers had to make stuff up because of his surprise announcement. We're in a world where actors get to dictate story vs. the engine, which rarely would have happened when soaps were at their prime. Sign of the times I suppose.

I've noticed that many of the GH people are on a national tour. It reminds me of the good ol' days where they would travel to different cities and generate buzz with fan events. I hope it works for them. Steve and Bradford will be in my old hometown later this month and it makes me wish I could be there, because I would in a heartbeat.

Last TJ def had a bubble and I actually thought he handled a lot of the surrogate material well. I initially didn’t care about him because there were two different TJ’s I actually liked before I stopped watching years ago but he genuinely won me over. I had zero idea the show treated Molly/TJ as non players during the time I wasn’t watching so I was very much interested in their story especially played with Mansi as Kristina whom I loved on Days. Sadly the show erased TJ and killed absolutely any love I had for Kristina or Mansi.

Molly and T.J. were rarely seen much from 2014-15 until the surrogacy story began in mid-late '23. They were nobodies. The reason being that when Frank and Ron first arrived in 2012 they tried very hard initially to find a new teen Starr Manning type fitting her mold from OLTL for youth stories, to chase that youth demo. That's where Molly came in.

Frank pushed hard to showcase Haley Pullos' teen Molly and turn her into Starr II with his chosen new guy for her, Silas Clay's twink nephew Rafe Kovich Jr., the son of Caleb and Alison from Port Charles. The kid playing Rafe couldn't really act and nobody cared about him so the hard sell with them flopped, but at the same time FV and RC were trying to smear Tequan Richmond's T.J. to kill that relationship - he was acting out, getting drunk with Felix's mischievous niece or sister or whatever and being a wild teen. It was bad optics for a young Black boy to be made to look unruly and out of control while the two white kids were being shined up in 2013, let alone today but Frank and Ron were not exactly racially sensitive.

Anyway, it didn't work. Rafe was killed off and with his attempt to make Molly and Rafe into Starr and Cole 2.0 having flopped FV pretty much exiled Molly and T.J. to the eternal backburner for the better part of another decade. (That's when he discovered Eden McCoy and began trying to make Joss into Starr instead.) After that they very rarely had any story. And I lost interest in T.J. entirely once Tequan Richmond was gone to better things. Tahj Bellow was okay but it was always a character that had very little grounding to me vs. other young men of color you could bring on with less tedious history. And Molly needs a long break from the canvas - Kristen Vaganos is bland and boring to me. So that's why none of it registers to me. But I do think it's pretty tacky that they never gave T.J. a proper goodbye while subjecting us to more of Molly and Cody's Hallmark slop.

Thank you for the history lesson, cause I def had no idea about any of that. Molly and Tequan’s TJ were played pretty heavy when I was watching. I actually preferred the original TJ to Tequan at first but grew to appreciate him.

The only other story I remember Molly/TJ getting was when HP's Molly had a one night stand with Brando (!!), who looked about 20 years older her. I am sure Johnny Wactor (RIP) was not 20 years older, but it was skeevy. I think TJ was kidnapped at the time and Molly thought he left her, but TJ almost immediately forgave Molly and that was that.

They also went back and forth for awhile about marriage vs. being life partners, which also was a non story because who cares what you call yourself lol?

WHY IS RANDOM WSB GUY NOT DEAD? UGH. DIE ALREADY! lol.

That said...I finally got to the 'reveal' of 'Nathan.' Honestly...I was impressed. Just not for the reason I thought, though. It's a given that we all knew he was not Nathan. But the 'connect-the-dot' scenes in the episode were pretty well-written to me, barring NOT mentioning the Five Poppies. And at the start, RP was actually giving something. His body language was SLIGHTLY different. And he definitely was doing inflections with his voice that was not at all Nathan-like, down to hmmm bigger vocabulary words. I was just sad that by the end of the episode that RP regressed back into Nathanese. But for a second, I actually thought just maybe he could pull off being the big bad his character was set up to be at the Five Poppies...probably why Frank and the writers could not include that in the reveal scenes. RP as a Nathan Twin as a MINION...screams two things to me. ONE...REWRITE!!! And TWO...Peter August Part Deux which means he is going to be around for a looooooooooong time (and good to see from some light reading earlier I am not the only one who went 'how did Dr. O not remember she had twins?' though I believe that was how she did not remember about OriginalNathan, either so...*shrugs* and I guess that makes Lulu Maxie. Le sigh. I did see some of the comments echoing what I already mentioned...Sidwell...just like Drew before him...has too many fingers in story pies. While that made Drew more exciting to watch, I can't say the same about Sidwell though I do like the actor.

I never thought that I would see the day that I would look forward to Britt and Lucas scenes, but they have been fascinating to watch in light of Jason's leaving and Marco's death. And I continue to enjoy VH's acting. Yeah, he kinda did go over-the-top twice in those scenes, but he's been really good at pulling himself back from the camp edge, making his performance as a hurt Lucas relatable.

Hehe. at Carly reacting to Ric being in Sonny's good graces!!! And yes, @Antoyne I just arrived at the Liz/Ric scenes. So funny when I keep thinking how more interesting it would have been if they took place during a Jason/Liz/Ric triangle back when they all were single a few years back. Cuz those scenes would have played exactly the same. And goodness knows they have such chemistry just in the scenes I watched. Liz/Ric working on a case together? Yes, please.

OMG!!! Not DarkWillow finding out that Kai and Trina know she shot Drew! That was stupid of them. I did like she slowly came to the realization though. And what was with that brief scene of Nina/Drew? Will she be part of his redemption at some point? And what twist is coming that Drew is not remembering? Don't tell me they are trying to wiggle out of Willow shooting him now? It's the best she's ever been on this show.

And thank you to whomever decided to put Michael in sweats (with the camera angles to match) and Chase in the shower. And looping back to Willow, uh oh at the look she had when she gave Chase a hug. I didn't like the hijacks of Chase, BLQ, and the social worker at the Q mansion, but at the same time I do wonder where the storyline will go given everyone has pointed out how BLQ is already too attached.

Alexis vs Tracy over Danny were some great scenes. More please.

Well we have discussion here all the time about how much an actor dictates story over time. I would say the other recent time was Sonny, Ava, and the meds when PM was HW briefly.

I also thought TB handled the surrogate material well. I had hoped that they would give him more of a POV. I felt he did have one in spite of how limited it was. I debated it often. So I hated the writers proved me wrong by having him up and vanish. Cuz I really wanted to see the fallout with TJ and Molly. I wanted to see his reaction to her getting closer to Cody. I even enjoyed people teasing about him and Lucas since they got closer around that time and also had a bit of chemistry though they were work friends.

Hehe. Re: Mansi's Kristina. I was so looking forward to getting more Kristina time. Now? Not so much. And to think I always felt she was the heir apparent to Sonny if he ever left the mob for Brenda. And the rivalry between her and Joss really wrote itself.

Soaps have always had to scramble with story any time an actor leaves or takes an out unexpectedly. That's not Steve controlling the writing in some new or unusual way, though he certainly did in certain ways in his prime 20 years ago. I doubt half the show or his storyline would be like this if he was in the driver's seat.

Those cast messages are beautiful -- and believable because of who Lynn Herring is.
