Eva doesn't seem too concerned her "new daddy" is stuck in an elevator! lol Some good Shanice and Ted scenes though.

As if any restaurant manager would let some teenager hang around to "help" and get in the way.

Diego! One thing this show is good at is characters that are around now and then like Diego. Continuity without regular focus.

date: Wednesday, December 3, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Jazmen Darnell Brown | Phideaux Xavier

  • Vanessa continues to want her cake and to eat it, too. I love a strong woman who goes for what she wants. And I just know she is itching to set up Joey in the long run. And it will be delicious.

  • Eva and Izaiah definitely have some amazing chemistry... but when did they appear to become relationship status (based on how they greeted each other)?

  • I do wonder why Vernon is itching to close in on Martin's campaign. It makes me wonder if he has something more... pressing up his sleeves?

  • June is doing fantastic work and has adjusted quite well. I just hope she is able to find some downtime outside of her work life. That balance is needed.

  • A date to Winterfest? Vanessa, darling, are you planning a Dana-style reveal and showdown? That could be juicy.

  • Dr. Mercer sounds like nightmare fuel. I would absolutely hate him having for my doctor. Truly. And alas, the classic trapped-in-elevator trope. Love it.

  • Aw, Tyrell, I cried too when Dobby died. He was a free elf and did not deserve to die in that way.

  • Good on Eva for handling the elevator situation quickly and promptly.

  • A quick Shanice backstory. That was cute. I need more of that sweeter side of Shanice to come out and play and less of the nosy nurse she comes across as.

  • The ganging up of Samantha and Tyrell on Martin over the idea of a health clinic is hilarious. But I do hope it leads to something from both of them.

  • Samantha, you dumb-ass bïtch. Why would you do that? If it is Nathan...

  • Not Diego wanting a re-up of his Vanessa time. What a cold and chilly reception from her.

  • Ooh. So cold. Joey versus Vernon could be interesting. Very, very interesting.

Notes:

  • Another disappointing and subpar breakdown by writer2, but thankfully, Brown is such a consummate scriptwriter that it helps level out the inconsistencies and irregularities.

  • Seems like the coffee café set is expanding bit by bit, and I like that. Shows signs of a potential long-term set and its stability.

  • The ongoing chem-testing between Ernestine Johnson (Shanice) and Keith D. Robinson (Keith) is something I am vibing with. They both work exceptionally well together, and I could see them becoming something. Maybe not "meant to be", but something nonetheless.

  • The use of the word "unhoused" by June is so nice to hear. Normally, you would hear the more dated term "homeless".

  • David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) seems to finally be lessening his bobblehead... not as much as I would like, but it is getting there.

  • WTF is "the gritty"? These social media "dances" are ridiculous to me. Must be on the TicTac platform.

Tanice has my full support and attention. Keith has so much chemistry with all of his ladies.

Well we just got our hint of a darker Vernon. Cant wait to see where this goes.

I hope darker Vernon isn't actually cheating on his wife after all. I feel like anything goes now.

I know this is a soap but ill be so disappointed if cheating is in that wheelhouse

Genuinely do not believe Vernon is cheating. At all. It does not feel in-character for him, at all.

If Vernon is cheating, it ruins any credibility he has for hating on Bill and Ted after what they did to his daughters. Wouldn't make sense.

I like the idea of him embracing a darker side. Joey wasn't wrong. Vernon manipulates people as well, but he just thinks he's the good guy.

Not really feeling Shanice and Ted as a potential couple, but their scenes together were fun. Being scared of birds made me laugh. It's relatable.

There's no chance Vernon is cheating, but the whole fakeout subplot has gotten old for me lol. Just move it along.

I do like the Shanice/Ted/Leslie scenes and Shanice is a great rival for Leslie. They really go at it hammer and tongs. I still prefer Ted with June (who ably handled Leslie in a very different way) and hope that comes back but I'm not hating this material.

Tanice sounds like a gospel singer, lol.

-- David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) hasn't lessened any bobblehead movements. The truth is it was never a problem.

-- I laugh when I see Jamey Giddens listed as breakdown writer, knowing I can count on reading here that the breakdown was terrible 😂

-- The Griddy has been around since 2019. Not exactly some newfangled dance move.

-- Good moments between Ted and Shanice, but I can do without even another stuck elevator. Played to death. I don't get any romance vibes between them.

-- The hospital Christmas decorations look cheap and chintzy.

-- I'm against this show trying to get too into the weeds on Martin's causes and campaign. We all know what we're dealing with in real life, and we know they're NEVER going to address the elephant in the room -- the lying racist felon and pedophile. I just don't think it works to pretend they're feeding us reality in any way, not when we just ended a 2-month shutdown. Vernon suggesting TikTok videos doesn't cut it.

-- I've grown to really like June, but I don't enjoy scenes written as lectures. The stuff she said about hospitals and the unhoused was awfully pedantic.

-- Was June really so busy that Samantha needed to help her? They had her carrying 3 plates at once but the place was almost empty of customers. Regardless, would any restaurant be OK with that?

-- Why Vanessa would want Golden Corral Casino Mobster Joey when she can have Diego is beyond me.

-- If this is part of a Joey takedown plan by Vanessa, writers need to look at everything they're doing, because I'm not sure all or any of the steps she's taking make sense. If and when takedown day comes, everything happening before then should be a part of the plan.

I thought they worked well, but as someone else said, I'm not getting a strong romantic vibe. I got more father/daughter TBH. I like the idea Vee has of June and Ted, if the plan isn't a Ted/Nicole reconciliation.

IMO I don't get the need to rebrand the term 'homeless'. It's like making 'unalive' happen for dead people... we're just choosing different words to mean the same thing. It won't change people's personal perceptions of the words.

I think right now things are just being chem-tested across the board. Again, I don't necessarily see them as endgame/long-term, but even just a short-term fling would be cute.

'Houseless' more so emphasises the lack of a physical structure that 'homeless' does not. Especially where people view Earth/their town as their home, while regarding the lack of a physical dwelling as their house, etc., which I am very appreciative of.

Ask someone who is homeless/unhoused if they care which term you use, and the majority would say they don't give two.... they want a safe place to sleep, cook, bathe, etc. Your choice of word isn't going to change their circumstances. The shift in terminology usually comes from media, advocacy groups, and nonprofits trying to push their own agenda or ideas. Not to say that some wouldn't prefer other terms over homeless, but in the grand scheme they want a home, period. Your word means very little. I believe a survery a few years ago asked those who actually were homeless at one point what they preferred and "person experiencing homelessness" ranked highest and "unhoused" was lowest - lower than just "homeless."

Don't get me started on unalived.
