I’ve stopped watching again the past couple weeks and I’m wondering if it’s worth catching up on or not. This Matt Clark return from the dead story & Noah boinking his mama has been a total disappointment. Thank god I discovered classic Days episodes. It’s been great to watch a show with ACTUAL storylines!

How does this man still have the Head Writer job?

The Cane story doesn't even play well on paper. It was poorly thought out from the jump, and the execution is embarrassing. I have to wonder what these actors think of the writing these days....I mean, these years.

Totally agree. And the pace is sooooo slow. What's going on in a month can be wrapped up in a week like hurry up 😂

When you tune in and the first 3 scenes pretty much tell you the content of the entire episode...

The Mariah 'story' has been going for months with little movement.

The Cane/Dumas story fell in a heap.

I'm sorry but seeing Eric Braeden in a chair or occasionally shuffling around the set while delivering odd line readings is not captivating TV.

Same. I'm waiting for the wedding.

Any news about classics during Thanksgiving?

A lot of people are, but that's the problem. The show is running on fumes from the past. Griffith pulls viewers back in when he goes to Y&R history, but the stories on the show are slow, awful, or both.

The Danny and Christine wedding will be nice, and we'll get more actors on set and an event-like feel -- but then what? It's not a story that leads to anything. MD and LLB will be gone a day later.

It's all so bad. Why the stall? It's as if Griffith has no idea where to go or what to do. Mariah cutting off her wife and daughter makes no sense at all.

We know this show doesn't care about gay characters, but it's a mess when a woman married to a woman starts entertaining a guy. The show doesn't care about the messages they're sending either.

Just a stunning disaster. All that publicity in snagging Billy Flynn, leading to....nothing.

Why make Cane this wealthy and powerful man who can take down everyone (let alone all of Genoa City) and then have him beg "I want to get my family back"?  Not only was there a plan to reclaim his family, but his kids aren't even on the canvas. I mean, NOTHING about it works.

And now Josh Griffith has Cane sniffing around Phyllis, which feels like "I gotta do something because Christel K is going out on maternity leave."

EB's decline is obvious. I get it. People age and slow down. But JG apparently has no idea how to adapt to that weakness. Victor should not be the same ruthless man he was 40 years ago, and his dialogue needs to represent who he is now.

The Noah/Sienna/Matt story also has problems, but it's Oscar material compared to everything else. The problem is that after this intriguing setup, I have ZERO faith that Griffith can follow through.

Oh, don't I know it! lol. I tried. But that Matt reveal...when I just left after the Dumas reveal and the 2 legacy deaths and how Damian...a dynamic new (and black first in a while) character...was discarded for this current crap...was too much. I was willing to watch up to the wedding. I'm good. I'll wait.

And yes. A GOOD writer would have enough good story going on around (or even during) the wedding, that they might keep some of the gained audience visiting. Look at GH. ES's arrival for the Monica arc DID get some visitors that haven't either never watched GH or have not in years. And there's enough good story around ES's arc that now that it seems over, I'm curious to see if that audience will stick around. Shows how much JG IS NOT a good writer.

EB is 84 and has dealt with health issues in recent years. He is going to be on the show as long as he is physically and mentally capable of doing so.

Yeah but Victor should’ve actually evolved by now.

I agree, with the amount of soap Legends that have left us the past few years, it's remarkable he is still going.

Yep. Pretty much.
