I can't believe they've never had anyone killed by an axe there.

It's right there!

"Willow Tait took an axe/and gave her lover forty whacks/and when she saw what she had done/she gave her mother forty-one."

I want to say Taggert had one other scene other than the elevator, but I'm probably wrong.

I think his last scene was him meeting up with Trina at Kelly's and then after she left, he took a flask out of his pocket and took a swig.

And Trina never thought of him ever again.

Shannon Peace was the one who wrote for Trina in her heyday and since she left the character has been totally neutered.

Tabyana was excellent in those scenes with Jordan (silly though they were) and it remains an embarrassment that she’s been this heavily sidelined for two full years.

Thank you! That explains so much. And I agree that Tabyana gave those scenes with Jordan her all and showed some fire. I'm just struck by the difference in how they write Trina and her (former?) BFF Joss. While Joss has this whole storyline involving international espionage and an older lover, Trina is stuck in scenes where Ava has to explain the concept of divorce to her like she's a special needs child.

Exactly. It’s ridiculous.

The reveal didn’t even matter about Trina because they didn’t fully tell the story. Curtis was mad at Portia for a few months, Trina was mad at both of them for a few months, then it was just over, and she never mentions the dad that raised her. It’s a hallmark of Dan and Chris as writers. Keep upping the stakes but nothing matters so it all just fades away.

They invented an entire family for Laura. Two brothers, neither one of them has kids to continue populating the show. Cyrus was increasingly misused then killed. And Tad the Cad is pointless. But it was a great use of history to mention Lesley’s past! Sarcasm firmly in place.

To this day I still prefer Sydney Mikayla. But Tabyana was a good recast, has plenty of fire, and should be allowed to tell younger lead stories. There is no reason why Drew should not know about them being in his house and be blackmailing one or both of them.

I have always preferred Tabyana from Day 1. I thought SM was too green.

That's a great way of putting it.

You'd think Portia repeating her mistakes with her latest pregnancy would cause huge ructions with Trina when the truth comes out, but even if the baby survives, we'll probably get a shrug.

I was pleased to see Gio and Emma decide to go against Sonny's advice and admit the full truth to Dante and Lulu, but what are the odds they actually follow through with it?

I prefer SM too.  I actually thought she had better chemistry with NAC.

That being said Tabyana is a very good recast and the better actress.  She definitely has a wider range than SM although I think Sydney could have grown into the part.

At the end of the day both actresses are more dynamic and interesting than Eden's Joss.

That would be a perfect and natural thing for her to feel and the show to explore too! Imagine Trina discovers her mother’s deception, and confronts her on doing this again to another man and child! It’s like they fell backwards into an actual multileveled soap story but they don’t tell it fully!

Also- why does Portia do this? For all the faults of the stories, we understand what Willow does when she blows up her life due to the cult and seeking saviors. I cannot remember if they have ever disclosed why Portia is so panic driven and manipulative.

KA-CHING! The only time I enjoyed Josslyn was when Courtney Fulk pinch-hit in the role. But still, an insufferable character that I wish Nelle had snatched her kidney back from and left Josslyn for dead.
