Mm-hmmm, but after last year, I was hoping for more, especially from Matt Wilson. But alas, I figure they did not see it worth while to nominate. Or they did, and were not voted through.

IIRC, it was said that little to nothing was done to promote Neighbours in the US, so I'm not surprised. I'm more surprised they were nominated that first time.

Well, Jason Herbison said he was surprised they were eligible; I doubt anyone from the Academy told them they qualified.

Interesting speech from Nancy. I did not know she called MVJ and Wendy Riche to ask if they wanted her at GH.

So it seems like malaise all around. Thanks. It's a shame they did not at least say a brief word about the show tonight. In an ideal world we'll get another revival in a year or two.

I am hopeful it will return, some way, somehow... for a fourth time.

I'll try to find a clip later, but I'm thrilled for Susan Walters. So very well deserved.

Not sure you have Twitter but it was posted there:

I recently posted a new, fairly long Stephanie Beacham podcast interview in the Colbys thread if you are interested in that.

Thank you for both! I will look into that podcast with Stephanie Beacham.

Susan looked beautiful and was so sweet and humble.

Now I remember how much I detest Carla Hall and her terrible cooking.

I was so confused by this comment, at first. since the only Carla Hall I know from daytime is the character Carla Gray Hall!
Goodness knows Ellen Holly deserved an Emmy.

(Didn't even know there's a chef named Carla Hall until I re-read your post and then googled her.)

Edit to add:

The irony of Carla Hall, who was host of the Chew -- the show that replaced OLTL on ABC, now winning an Emmy for her own show;
but Ellen Holly who played Carla Gray Hall on OLTL never nominated for an Emmy.

Hard to believe he's only the third. At least he's in excellent company.

After watching half the show last night... I fell asleep and instead of soaps I dreamt of wild life - panters, orangutans, frogs, hamsters on treadmills.

P.S. Happy that Lisa won. That's it.

I kinda expected Days not to win Best Show or Best Writing because of that abomination that shall remain nameless that we had to endure last year 🤮🤮

But, congratulations to Paul Telfer! He really did deserve it.

And Jonathan Jackson did too, Frank 😂😂😂

Next year is gonna be a tough competition though. Between Days and GH, and BTG, I can’t wait to see it.

Didn’t watch (on a break from the soaps overall right now) but saw some clips. Actually, there were decent winners for a change, JJ excepted. (He’s a great actor, but it just shows that one well-constructed reel or name recognition can make up for a truly aimless story and largely uninspired overall performance. This is also a category that Robert Gossett, also a good actor, won twice for whatever Hat Dad was.)

I’m glad that they chose a less somber accompaniment for the In Memoriam than last year’s, but I thought they might actually show clips for everyone (or at least the on-camera talent) after the first couple of people got them. The Eileen Fulton tribute was nice.

It’s still so weird to be rewarding performances from almost two years ago in some cases.
