It's not an either/or of two boring, largely personality-less males (Nathan and Chase) vs. Alex Alegria, the worst actor on American daytime television. We can do better than all of the above, but especially AA and Nathan. Nathan's never contributed anything worthwhile or colorful to this show AFAIC. He was better off dead.

Far from it, especially when Bold has Liberty Bibity on as some kind of leading man/Ronn Moss wannabe, which he is not.

-- I co-sign to everything said here about Kirsten Storms in the past 24 hours. I don't think any television performer "deserves" this kind of grace from her employer. She's really lucky, but we're all paying the price for these absences when Frank protects her with the writing.

Oy, did you read the headline today that she needs brain surgery?

I think we need to take a moment and consider whether we are in Michael Zaslow situation, and we will regret not being more sensitive to the sort of grace that she requires.

This is part of the reason why I didn’t jump on the train of her being singled out for special treatment. Because we don’t know what is in her contract, what her ABC insurance mandate is, etc. I have worked in management with employees going out for medical leave, and more than once the person did not wish anyone to know it was a medical leave, etc. and people get very bitchy about not knowing private information that I could not share, beyond they are on a leave of absence. When I saw her Maurice Bernard podcast episode a couple of years ago and learned she was bipolar, and at the time was clearly having difficulty recovering from her brain surgery when she came back, a few pieces clicked into place. I personally assumed this time there was more than just relocating her daughter on the table, and again, the show makes the decisions, not her as far as what happens on camera. I would hope that an employer would accommodate this stuff. It’s not her fault the show handles it on air so poorly.

BTW- this is not meant as me attacking or chiding other posters! Just agreeing that maybe some grace or just moving on is called for.

@carolineg Mumbles and A.D.A. are both on today, but not together (thus far). The third piece of the puzzle also does not appear to be on.

Thank you!  I saw her in the preview yesterday so I was prepared for DA bot.  I swear this woman gets more airtime than her husband Sidwell

I didn't know about Kirsten Storms' health problems until I saw your post, and then I did read the websites. I am sorry she's going through this, and like everyone else, I hope she pulls through this and quickly gets back to good health.

I have made comments about Storms' GH absences here, as have others. Could I have been more sensitive and shown more grace? Of course. Any explanation I give will come off like an excuse. I'll say only that none of my comments about her were vicious.

Since her brain aneurysm was discovered very early in the year and is only now going to be operated on, I think it's safe to assume there was no immediate danger to her. Some brain aneurysms must be operated on immediately. Her doctors clearly made the decision that they could monitor the size, location, shape, growth, rupture history, etc., and wait to operate.

I'm not downplaying any of this. It's obviously concerning and surgery is always dangerous. I just believe and trust she'll be ok. I wish her only the best.

In the meantime, GH still has a Maxie problem. Kirsten talked about possibly returning in November, and now we know that's not going to happen. I only hope GH and the writers knew about this when they plotted Nathan's return. If not, it's hard to see how this story works.

Note; I don't think contrition is necessary, none of us knew the extent of her issues when this discussion began.  @ranger1rg - my use of "oy" was not meant to inspire either guilt or shame.

I am just as shocked, and only mentioned it as a hope that we consider it in future discussion.
