I don't think @bossruen will mind me linking to their post with Charles Mesure spilling the tea during this slow week.

Oh this was good piping hot tea.

There were rumors for sure. Cuz it was just TOO abrupt. Regardless of the more than likely fact he was a placeholder/Frank's flavor of the month, CM did have chemistry with LW. And I was actually interested in spite of myself where I felt PM's writing was going to go with that chemistry on top of CM's chemistry with FH. But, as we know, I've very bias when it comes to CM.

I thought CM had excellent chemistry with Laura. McKenna and LW Trey but it’s just not there the way it was when it was Charles in the role.

Very. I might go and get nosy in spite of myself.

Oooo, but they did. I was so annoyed. But I feel McKenna and LW have found a nice groove as of late. Not that the writers are writing to it unfortunately. It's usually they write them as a plot point or as that wacka wacka gimmick situation per episode that we know that I don't like.

So different, but still not like it was when Charles was in the role.

Laura and McKenna are definitely better than where they started but I actually felt heat between Charles and Laura.

So when people talk about the “politics” at GH, they’re talking about FV treating his faves like gods and screwing over everybody else, correct? Or am I missing something?

GH titled this "We're back tomorrow (Oct. 2)"
But what they meant was
"We're back tomorrow Oct.3, uploaded Oct.2."

The website for CityTV in Canada inadvertently uploaded two of the preempted episodes.  They were up for a while (since removed).
There are several clips (via viewer social media) on the October spoiler thread.

I think there is more going on. He was there during the very rough year when Mulcahey was forced on Valentini, and that year was one of the times that backstage stuff was very clear to viewers. I think it goes beyond just his favorites, but I am sure that is part of it.

It seems to me with soaps you are either an executive producer worried about producing the best show possible, or one that still wants a good looking product, but is more concerned with the trains running on time.

Anyone can look at GH and see that while it has become more exciting and watchable, it’s still messy with the details.

So are we to assume Charles Mesure's comment had nothing to do with actors and everything to do with writing and production?

I took it as both, but it's hard to say with that one tweet.   And he was replying to an 8 month old tweet by LW, so it seems he still has some feelings about it lol.
