GH: June 2026 Discussion Thread
The show’s current biggest structural issue—how to fulfill Mo’s guarantees while working within his current limited capabilities—was on full display during these scenes. Sonny had 1 line for every 10 that Laura and Lucas had, and the rest of the time he looked like he was nodding off in that big chair.

I miss the days when Michael and Chase would fight over Willow while, like, changing in the locker room at the boxing gym. Let’s try that again but with Gibson.

Appreciated Portia reading Curtis for filth. Is it weird that I’m kind of rooting for Willow to ruin Brook Lynn and Chase’s exceptionally boring marriage?

Suzanne walking in on Cody and Molly in flagrante was funny. To quote Heathers, that’ll give her “shower-nozzle ma****bation fantasies for a week.”

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an actor improve over time as little as JAA has (i.e., not at all). All this talk of Trina’s “big break” is driving me insane. Her dream is to be a curator at an art museum. This is well established. I need Spencer’s ghost to haunt Kai, Brook Lynn, and Gio for browbeating her into this music nonsense.

They should’ve just had Kristina go off to Burning Man and never come back.

GH: May 2026 Discussion Thread
I generally find Mansi to be an appealing presence and think she, NLG, and Vaganos have a warm and realistic family chemistry. But these 3 years of story for Kristina have been a combination of false starts and bad turns. It’s crazy that she will get away with almost killing Ric and Liz (and attempting to kill Ava). The fact that Mansi has the lowest episode count of anyone who’s been on contract for 2026 should’ve been a clue. Re: Britt/Rocco, I think the story could be effective if the show were using its fundamental Oedipal creepiness to create tension. I actually think both actors are up for it. But the writing at the moment suggests that Britt is a well-meaning yet misunderstood ET to Rocco’s Elliott.

I think I screamed out loud when Kristina mentioned the center (“Corinthos-Davis House!”). At least she said “queer” and not “LGBTQIA+,” which they made poor Mansi struggle with for her first 6 months on the show. Also, why build a new tennis center in Marco’s honor if you’re not going to ask Sidwell to pay for it? I assume Sonny is bankrolling this entire operation single-handedly?

Speaking of taping schedule, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that Ezra basically exists so that Genie could block-shoot many weeks’ worth of scenes with only him (and occasionally Lulu) and then bounce.

It’s bizarre that Joss, although no longer an active WSB agent, is investigating what happened to Emma’s grandmother on her own. Make the frenemies team up begrudgingly.

Laura is going to get Ezra killed, isn’t she?

Dull episode today. So much recapping in the dialogue! I wonder if we’re nearing the end of Ezra Boyle.

Oh no, it’s Gloria Vanderbilt, out for revenge!

It also lampshades one of the show’s inherent structural flaws, which is that “the mob,” in the sense that we’re given to understand Sonny’s criminal operation, hasn’t really been a thing in the Eastern US since the 1990s.

Gio looked like he got lost on the way to audition for the YA reboot of Cruising.

Some bizarre costume choices today. Kristina’s dress made it look as though she had hair on her chest. Jacinda looked like Kim Cattrall in Mannequin. Gio’s leather shirt—come to think of it, why was just about everyone in leather?

Echoing this—I think Hansis has been a huge upgrade all the way through. Lucas seems like a real person and not just another in the stone-faced hunk brigade (apologies to Ryan Carnes).

We need to get Michael and Willow hate-[!@#$%^&*] again already.

Agree with this—I thought these scenes had spark and tension. There’s no easy way out for either Britt or Joss. (I am also the weirdo that enjoys both of these characters and performances, however.)

LMAO talk about a show that’s in a permanent lull.

Wait, was that established onscreen? I thought TBTP just changed the character’s name and expected us not to notice.

I appreciated that too. The WSB is basically DHS at this point.

Maybe Adrian can return as Natalia’s oft-mentioned, never-seen son Eloi. Remember Eloi? BTW is anyone gonna tell Blaze her brother is dead? I agree that killing off Marco (while, ugh, sparing Cullum) is a waste, although these episodes were very effective. Worse than Lucas inevitably reuniting with Brad is the fact that he’s likely to be backburnered entirely now. Sonny’s absence from this whole thing is indeed wild (and refreshing). I was also surprised that the show didn’t put Carly in that parking lot with Britt, Danny, et al. at the end. Congrats to Tabyana on four years. I found her IG post somewhat poignant because it reminded me how much the writing for Trina fell off after the show fired Shannon Peace.

There’s no question that all of the show’s storylines are dictated by budget, actor guarantees, and actor availability. Maxie would never have been in a coma, for example, if KS hadn’t needed time off. But the “lulls” on GH are less and less frequent, and the show does a pretty good job of laying the groundwork over 4 to 6 months for stories to climax in a satisfying way, as they did this week. IMO GH has provided two genuine shocks so far this year: Willow paralyzing Drew and Rocco shooting Cullum. That’s not bad.
